  1. Gross ran a faster 3 cone shuttle and 2 more bench press but Ichy got him on size and straight speed. Look it up, not a knock just using our best as the comparison. Gross was really agile. Very close acceleration. I was looking it over last night. They play similarly, smart and mean with a loads of talent. Edit: Like it's really close, again not meant as a knock.
  2. Meh, new face same BS but it seems destined for us to carry a not good vet QB this year. Sam or otherwise. I wouldn't call Sam an asset at this point. Completely agree about any picks, even the 7th.
  3. He was the LT in this draft that I refused to look at after last year and years of neglect or incompetence. Love his approach to the game, his physicality and smarts. Sounds like a bigger and faster but slightly less agile Gross.
  4. 100% still in shock on that one. Now I'm hoping they can contain themselves with next years draft capital. Still shocked and happy at the pick which is a 180 from last year.
  5. All I wanted was a long term LT. We nailed that and that is all I could have hoped for. Anything else would have been failures by various degrees in my eyes for us in this draft. Now factoring in what we used our 2nd and 3rds on brings back the reality this year is still all about getting Rhule fired so we can finally use some of this talent when we get a real coach and QB combo.
  6. If his job is even in question... Doubtful tho, last yearz early schedule was a cake walk. This year should be brutal. I could see a step back if we roll with Sam.
  7. I'm fine with that. Run the ball and fire Rhule with Sam off the books in 2023. The idea he improves is beyond funny tho. Good luck with that...again
  8. With LT checked off, that is our desperation so yeah, I can see that being a solid take.
  9. There have been a couple of years where they should have said it, 2013 comes to mind. It's rare but it does happen.
  10. I'm cool as long as it doesn't involve next year's top 3 picks. I'm also cool with Jimmy G or Mayfield...as long as it's not from a trade. Someone is getting released at some point. I hope Fritts learned about over trading last year. He got really trade happy and it hasn't paid off. I'm more interested in seeing who they value at this point, all the BS aside.
  11. In reality, he will have less pressure than as a 1st and he gets a franchise tag instead of a 5th year option. I bet he is also motivated. If he goes to a functional team he could get very interesting in 2023.
  12. We will be paying most if not all of that this year. If he even can keep a backup spot it is going to be for cheap, like we should have done with him. Yeah, that is a QB I would love to see us play against. That would be fun. Other than that, fug'em.
  13. Isn't that what a backup does when they have an established starter? Yeah he isn't good and I don't think he ever improves. I could still see a team paying him very little to hold a clipboard and chase 'improvement' for a year.
  14. The guy was crying on the field last year, I don't know how they don't do something during or after the draft. He isn't a starter but he could be a backup. He will get another shot, just at a much lower pay and much less expectations.
  15. Sam was a better prospect and was still not good enough... QBs just get pushed up the board, even if they shouldn't. Appears fair this year but it will be fun to see if one of these guys can be more than average
  16. Yeah I ain't a Pitt or Pickett fan so I don't have to pretend to want him to succeed. He was a very blah prospect and it will be fun to watch him play elsewhere. That is a guy I want to see us play against, not for.
  17. To those of you worried about Ichey just lol. His run blocking is what that side was beyond weak at. And having guys pass rush Sam should increase his play, it's where he puts up his best numbers...not that it will be desirable in the end. With a Sam quality QB, just run the damn ball and don't over think it. Kind of like having a rookie but without the hope of improvement.
  18. In a year when 1 QB, the most valued and paid position, went 18. I think that speaks for itself. Lance had 2 first and other picks trade for him to sit a year at #3.
  19. I think we do a player trade. Not sure who. They can't possible belive CMC will be healthy. Anderson is an easy hope. Jackson's trade window looks closed. IDK, one of the oline guys we signed last year?...lol jk
  20. The QBs this year are just bad. 1 went in the first and even in a good situation I wouldn't bet on him. I am just glad we didn't end up with any of them...yet
  21. Worse with time to throw... I just don't know what to else say. Even with a great LT and a good oline Sam is going to see ghost. It is who he has always been.
  22. I'm still not sure BC can take the LG spot but I damn sure hope he does.
  23. Where it should have always have been...as backups.
