Of course he is a good coach, had great teams that were great opponentsto hate on and play. It just looked like he was running out of gas. I get trading Russ after the drama and cap restrictions from his contract but to go into the year with Smith and not blink to this is just impressive. Lots of talk about him being close to hanging it up. Looks like he has plenty of fight left.

What did Carrol do to Geno Smith? Maybe the old coot has plenty of gas left in his coaching tank after all.

Charlotte Observer ‘Panthers reverting to losing form

That sounds so much better than what we are facing this year. Getting the #1 pick is just a bonus

And it has once again lol. Baker is not the worst but comparing him to those 3 is pretty funny and completely untethered from a realistic perspective. Just wait until later in the year when it all gets weirder.

BUT PFF SAID! Clasic PFF garbage oline grades. Fugging Elf. I couldn't even stop laughing long enough to look at the rest. LoL

He will thrive with a heavy run game. His best year they ran 4th most yards. Other years were 4th, 12th and 13th. It really isn't hard or malicious. Just run the ball.
-
He needs a run game. It sets up his good playaction and covers his deficencies. His 4 years in Cleveland proved that.
-
You still can't see it and that is so much funnier. There is no media fuggery here, not that I can see. He is using the timeframe in the quote to suggest how clueless and craptastic Rhule is. That is zero slight to Baker but the coach. All Rhule had to say was Baker improved and got the lead back. Instead he opens his mouth and eventuslly runs into some BS he just said or did. It's his thing and it doesn't apear he will ever change.
-
It's not about Baker but Rhule. He admits he has only been here a little time and has set him up for failure. You are way off the point and are defending something that there isn’t a fight over. Baker isn’t the biggest problem in Pantherlan. He wasn’t set up for success and they didn't call the plays in a way where he can thrive. Hint, it's not in a pass heavy O. This is all Rhule bashing and he earned it by being a crap HC.

You missed the point where he crated a fake competition that was settled at the trade and wasted a big portion of that time frame much like he did with Ickey. That is the context here. Vet QB learning basics of the playbook? Ok. Maybe scheme a run first game to help them out, especially since they are known for needing it. Or start the game with help for the rookie at LT going agaisnt one of the best DEs. Maybe throwing some playaction that the QB they traded for has a positive history with. Just some more context being discussed

Who's seat is warmer - Phil Snow or Mike Siravo?
Waldo replied to Coreyl90's topic in Carolina Panthers
He keeps his money either way, it is all guaranteed and there is nothing Tepper can do about that. I just do not see why he would really care unfortunately. The theory that Snow is more important to his future back in school also holds up unless Snow just says he wants to retire from it all. -

If you are going to fire Snow, just fire Rhule and all of his poostain school coaches. Hell, just let the players coach themselves at this point. I do like Wilks at DB and the ST coach. Keep those. I fear that with the contract he signed Tepper would have to fire Rhule to get to the other turds for a firing. -
Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Waldo replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
At this point I am not sure he has learned a damn thing, just going with whatever is next in the pile of BS that is his NFL coaching career. -
I am not sold on Dorsey as a HC yet. Maybe after a couple of years at OC. His line carried him to the ball to make the next play right? Yeah that is a fugging leader that has more than useless words.

Solid

Leftwhich. I am so happy the Jags fugged that one up. I wanted him last year. Who would be a good DC to pair with a new HC?
-
Close. Reid also went but didn't win one before he got to KC. It is a stat that has a lot of working parts in it but the biggest one to me is that HC that are successful tend to lean on what worked and not change like they did to get there. I think Madden had a quote about HCs having a window before they just do the same stuff over and over again.

Baker had a perfect QB rating in the 4th quarter
Waldo replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
All we need is a one quarter game where he plays the team that is literally paying him more than us to play this year. Just run the ball. -
Trades for a QB that relies on a running game and chooses to lean on the passing game. Drafts a LT that is better with the run, raw in pass protect and decides to put his new QB behind that in his rookie debut game while going pass first scheme. Built his O around a RB who got hurt while attempting to carry the O for 2 years and then gets him under 15 touches when 100% healthy who's best play came on another botched snap. Hires an OC with experience but has to settle for his throw first O because no one good wanted to take the job, even though his D is built to best pair with a run first O. It is a full on failure and it's just week 2. He deserves so much more heat from everyone and I am going to enjoy watching him buckle under the stupid mess he made.

Thanks for the fun QB competition when he already won that when you traded for him. Fug Rhule and his excuses. If he cared about how new Bakler was then he would have run the ball and not passed 3 times to go 3 and out to open the game and setting the pace for a terrible 1st quarter. Someone ask Rhule if Tepper is happy just for fun at this point.
