It was only week 1. It's going to get a lot more interesting for him as the season drags on.

That is a crazy list. Just saw it and wanted to see if any of it was true.

Person says the Panthers will win this one
Waldo replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the assumption we get to Jones is more hope than anything. Our pass rush last week was atrocious so it's hard for me to believe it exist until I see it. Daboll is too damn smart to not run it down Snow's throat. The O needs to set a realistic pace by running the ball early and get Baker in a much better situation than last week by working him into the game. Run then some playaction and then open it up if things are going smoothly. Keep it simple and balanced. Either team could just lay an egg in this one but I am guessing it will be a scrappy game from both teams. -
So if Rhule is losing enough that a firing is eminent and Tepper keeps him the entire year is that a form of Tanking? We have 3 coaches that have more experience than Snow and Rhule combined that could drag us through the rest of the year. What is the benefit of keeping Rhule 1 game past elimination? I would take an interim coach that is auditioning for his next job over a lame duck about to walk with his guaranteed money anyways. I get not firing him until later regardless but there is a point of why not? Like what benefit does Tepper get out of keeping Rhule past elimination if he is not coming back for year 4?

Not until I see proof. I have seen none to date.

I imagine the seat is somwwhat hot anyways. No idea what would be hot enough to move Tepper even if it is uncomfortable. 0-2? Not good for sure but certainly not enough. What happens at the 3 home games after that woukd be a much bigger deal. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a sacrificial firing made in that kind of situation. Not Snow but someone in a lame attempt to keep the peace and buy time. I hope it turns to lava however it happens. This is a winnable game but the season is long and I have zero faith in Rhule to right his ship.

Would you go to a parade if the Panthers went 0-17?

Well he was around when the 1st game ever was played so I expect he has seen them all. -
He has more in common with Teddy and Sam then Brees. Sam is by far the worst because I can't even see him as a backup at this point but Teddy and Baker can be good enough starters in the right settings, not ideal but sure can do a lot worse. I wouldn't say Baker is twice as good as Teddy, just better with no physical limitations that Teddy has and less injuries. None of them are good or great QBs. Baker is fine for this year but he has never shown anything that should stop us from upgrading if it is an option.

Would you be pleased if we hired Byron Leftwich??
Waldo replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think so. I know there are no guarantees but he looks promising. He is young, played and has had some good work behind him. He is a bit more inexperienced then I love and being a HC is such a crap shoot for anyone the 1st time in difference from coordinator. This is the kind of coach I wish Tepper hired with a long term plan behind instead of Hurney's best option. I think he will do well as a HC eventually even if he flames out the first time. I was so happy to see him not go to Jax and still be on the table for when we solve our Rhule problem. -
IDGAF. Baker is who he always has been, better than we have had but not good enough. I'll laugh at those people like I laughed at Teddy is a Franchise QB and Sam is the future people. I'm not going to fault someone for hope but being silly is open season.
-
Doesn't matter because we should be drafting another one this draft and until we find our long term guy. Seriously, he is good enough to score some points. It's the third QB chosen by these people. IDNGAF about excuses or imperfections at this point. Make it work or fug off.

True words. Having so many of the same issues on the D does not leave me with any real hope. I expect the O to improve some but I am not expecting much from this RPO system agaisnt good teams.
-
I wish we would just ditch the RPO and just play smashmouth run ball with playaction. It only seemed to work as the Browns got gassed and sloppy towards the half. Not sure that is great considering the heat will go away and teams will tighten up. Rhule is literally runing the team like a school program on both sides. Doesn't look like he learned anything and is just reverting to what worked to get him overpaid.

I am not wrong. Keep being a salty dingleberry
-
Still early but I wouldn't bet against it.
-
Snow's scheme and personel is a failure. Plus side is the next crew has some fun pieces to build something competent.
-
Officiating is always a problem and sloppy like everything else early. It's a win some lose some reality. Like when Luke held Gronk and we won. Or Cam getting free hits to his helmet opening game 2016. The officiating stunk but it was not the reason we lost. Hell you can hang that on time management alone in this game becaude it literally lost the game.

Wow. I didn't know the bonds where backed by his company that is declairing bankruptcy. Wow. And they skipped the state oversight process? That is some shadey stuff. And spending $500 million for 150 new jobs to give a $7.5 million dollar tax assessment on that $500 million dollar site is a cheffs kiss to this entire mess.

Cowboys, Commies, Arizona, Jets Jacksonville and us at the bottom in no particular order. Bad owners, mostly bad GMs and not 1 good coach in the mix (3 that peaked years ago). Jets? I don’t know what they are doing now, i completely ignore them. Lions are not good but at least interesting. Browns will have Watson to deal eith after that HC is fired sooner than later leaving the question if the GM goes also after that trade and the way Watson looked. Feel like I'm missing one.
-
Can they? Sure. Should they? Maybe. Daboll is a rookie cleaning up a mess but he is also a good coach. If they don't then it is going to get comically lively in Pantherland.
