  1. Maybe or maybe not. Wilson looks awful and like his head grew a couple of sizes with his new contract. His contract is fully guaranteed so expecting him to go back into prove it mode is a tough sell for me. Payton could bust just like anyone we hire. No one is guaranteed to work out because until they try we just don't know. What is known is that no SB winning coach has won another SB with another team in the modern NFL. We have also seen a good HC come here and fail. Lots of posters just assume he will be great when hired, I think it's not at all likely and that his best days are behind him. What made him so good in NO to turn it around was hunger that comes with someone who has to prove it and he was leading the NFL in strategy and innovation on and off the field which stagnated his last few years in NO. So yeah if they go all in on a SB run and he doesn't go back to 2009 Payton then it's entirely possible it turns into an expensive pooshow. The fact someone is going to pay him $20 million a year, give full roster control and expect results immediately is going to ramp up the possibility. Worst case on Payton looking good is Houston with the #2 pick but the last QB he drafted that he liked was Hill lol. IDK, I want to see him fail but I also think he will.
  2. That sounds amazing and I would love to see it in Denver.
  3. I haven't been worried about Payton for a while. He is smart but he has already succeeded and grown soft. Ron can get a team competitive, so could Wilks. Not good but competitive. If you can't beat that then you have bigger issues. Watching him go 8-9 would be fine for me but I would hope for the meltdown which is on the table given that situation. Wilson doesn't look salvageable and is also in his 'no longer hungry' phase. As long as he isn't here I don't really care or fear him at all. I would be shocked to not see his best days long behind him.
  4. Because I don't believe it goes as well as most assume? He hasn't been on top of his game for a while, other new coaches have surpassed him in quality over the years. He also left his team a mess and had zero good answers after Brees. Wilson is a great example of when things change drastically you can't just assume the player/coach will produce like they used to do. So yeah, I would love to see him in Denver. New owner, failing QB with a debilitating pay and Payton on his comeback tour? Sign me up. Sounds like a team that makes it to the playoffs and gets Buc'ed out at best. He isn't bad but I'm expecting 2019 Payton and not 2009.
  5. We just got out of one so yeah it would be nice to not have another one back-to-back.
  6. As long as it's not us I'm happy. I hope it's the Broncos so we all get to watch that pooshow hit the next level.
  7. Go Broncos. Can't wait to see Russ with Payton lol. Maybe he will get Hill to pair with him.
  8. Last year was their DC that mutually agreed to part ways right? If so that's interesting.
  9. The search started with 3 really good options for a first time HC from an OC. Now it's 2. I'm happy with either one of those guys, they all have upside. Doresy is the only one that I am not sold on.
  10. Steichen or Kafka please. We could win the NFCS with those levels of coaching next year. Neither would need 2 or 3 years to compete and I think both could sneak in as a WC team year 1 at worst. No trade needed. No mega contracts or rediculous conditions like total roster control. Just damn good coaching.
  11. Sounds a lot more fun and not a POS. Let's do that please. Still very interested in Steichen also.
  12. So we are getting a new gimp GM or what? What a pooshow...again.
  13. Even with Snyder leaving the ranks soon, it's a larger pool of bad then good. I'm not sure he is bottom 5 yet but he looks headed that way.
  14. He is very dislikable and a terrible owner but he still hasn't earned the worst owner in the NFL crown, even if he keeps trying to do so.
  15. Meh different hemorrhoid resulting in the same rectal itch. They don't let in good potential owners but good partners for the NFL. Tepper is just the embarrassment we are stuck with. Denver and the Browns got their turds and whoever buys DC will be another turd. It's the way of the NFL.
  16. Wilks is a good guy but is limited as a HC or even DC. Could be worse but I have trouble believing he will do enough to stay more than a year anywhere. He did a great job as an interim coach and honestly that is his best fit to his ability and style.
  17. Have to cheer against him and wish noting good for him or his. Hate him as a person and love how lazy his coaching got before he helped run the Saints into the ground before retiring. Fanhood? IDK but there would be zero hope for the team from me going forward as long as Tepper and his residue are here so I'm guessing it would cure my Panther addiction. Meh, whatever. The NFL is just teams that are toys for their owners designed around a game of football that produce profit hand over fist. It's getting hard for me to see it for the game anymore anyways. I'm still hoping we hire Steichen but after the Watson scare this is another huge 'let it burn for fun' kind of move to me.
  18. Sorry, it sounded like the 'he's basically a rookie' BS when I read it.
