There is the standard PR stuff and then the deviations from that. Who really knows which is which until later but the further the diviations get from the standard the more telling they are. This year vs last 3 years versions are wildly different. Tepper either doesn't have the skills, aweness or care to do any of that so he is pretty transparent when he opens his mouth but the team had a unified story they told all offseason after about March if I remember correctly. It is fun to watch it flip in usage around here. The gain of salt is more a boulder but it should still go with all of the PR stuff except Tepper because he loves telling on himself.

Pretty embarrassing to have to prop up your QB with his opponents every week, especially when the last one then went on to beat down the other team even after falling asleep for a full quarter while still having time to take their foot of the gas later in the game. It makes it all look so much more hilarious. Dude is rooting for his friend, good for them but it just makes it look like the Panthers chose the wrong one for even more reasons.

PFF: Why the Carolina Panthers should trade for DeAndre Hopkins
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would rather trade a player with no future here but you're not really wrong. I just don't want them doing more damage and whatever gets them gone faster is what I wish for. I have no faith in this build either so I get the reality of the situation but I still want it to end the fastest way possible. The hope of a new GM alone is enough to not want to see any more picks pissed away a la Fritterer. -
I would fire Reich at 0-7
Waldo replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah no such luck. There is so much more pain and embaresement lined up. -
0-6 while looking for a #1 WR is completely normal stuff activity for a team not rebuilding... We are not going to agree on any of this and I'm fine. I think you have a lot more disapointment headed your way. Those fools keep proving me right and it doesn't make me feel any better about their mess and failures.
-
You are avoiding what I said and clearly ment, well for me i guess. It's a complete quality issue on my end. I already agreed about the roster flux, the CB depth they committed too isn't that for a GM who was here last year. Not understanding going from Wilks' oline scheme to a shotgun only scheme's effect on the team is just neglect. Both OTs are built for the opposite which Wilks, not rhule, already established vividly so going well away from that was an obvious poor choice, especially after taking Ickey in the top 10 last year and seeing him improve in said situation vs whatever the hell Rhule was doing. There is no light to shine to make things look better yet. It looks like they are failing and getting desperate. It being only 6 games in makes that even more depressing and embarrassing. Even the improvement they have made so far looks woefully inadequate to match the moves they made. There is no way to justify this all as a rebuild now, it's just a clusterfug.

How do the Panthers move forward in a tanked season
Waldo replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
#1 Tepper steps back and hires a consultant to hold his hand and help clean up the mess he made. #2 Get a new GM. Yes man or just bad at his job, this one is a dead end and should be put out of everyone else's misery. #3 Fire sale and a real rebuild. Anyone is up for sale, doesn't matter. Anyone on this team should be replaceable in 3 years if the personnel evaluations were decent. -
Low expectations don't explain how poorly the roster is built. New coaching staff doesn't explain why the Burns situation has been handled so poorly. It also doesn't explain trading your best WR away to draft a rookie QB that they desperately need now. They made moves like they were a QB away and it shows. This was no rebuild, they were competing this year. All of that became the new angle when they fell on their faces the forst 1/3 of the season. Yes there should be some improvement through out the rest of the year but it's not even looking good in that context.

Personnel needs more healthy talent but I aagree. I just don't understand why they would choose to make a huge switch on the D and make such a big move for a rookie QB. Even if we had a decently suited roster for it that is still a 2 year process at best. They may look better towards the end of the year but their ceiling isn't looking great so far.

If you are not trying to run a comedy account then you are failing at life. They have been kept from winning SBs because of their QBs. They have had good Os and very good Ds for years and have ZERO SBs to show with Jimmy G, Purdy and now Darnold. Just lol. Why do you think they tried so hard on Lance. They have been a QB away for years now. WTF are you even talking about? Me a Bryce supporter? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA You couldn't be any more clueless about everything but thanks for the laughs

SF isn't built to win a SB. They are built to get into the playoffs and look like they need a better QB every year. Wilks' D is 3rd in scoring and 8th in yards vs 1st in both last year. Wilks is going to be sacrificed to get another year to find yet another QB. I feel bad for him honestly. He isn't good enough to actually succeed and he isn't bad enough to be the real problem yet he keeps getting used by everybody.

It would have made more sense and been a much better attempt for sure. I just don't think the end results change much. If we are talking about the best trade scenario then they would have kept Moore and drafted Stroud while Burns would have been moved. The people running the team are really bad. This is just more proof of that sad reality.

It's cable's old model and no real surprise. It would be like them actually admiting that Thursday games are trash and are only done for easy income. Not really. Capitalism is just using anything and everything to make profit. How they justify that is just noise to confuse those that would get in the way of that. Once you get past the idealism of John Smith that is the brutal reality. China had 607 billionaires in 2022 and the US had 735 so...

Are we brining him on to the front office team or to play? He looks like someone Tepper would hire to help run his team.

Lowering ticket prices again in the hopes of getting rid of these useless things. 1 more season after this crapfest.

DJ would still be good and Bryce would still be Bryce. Instead of talking about needing a WR we would be talking about needing help on D. That is just moving the problem to another position and not addressing the real issue the team is facing, a bad trade for a player who wasn't worth it anyways.

Just wait until Sunday's fallout...
