It is pretty confounding that we are seeing this apparent double standard. One for everyone else, a different set of standards for Bryce. From size to performance they hold him to lower standards than they hold the other guys to.
I say apparent because we don’t know for sure and coaches and by extension GMs do the coach speak shuffle . because know the players are listening.
Every team in the league has this double standard. It’s just the reality of the position.I think the Sam Darnold situation looms large over this org.
Tepper will not let Bryce go unless he is 100% sure he’ll never improve.

If he’s “much” better, you are looking at 4000 yards and 30TDs. That puts him easily in top 10. If he’s top 10, we’ll extend him.
Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs?What if he’s just 15th?
I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up.
maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10?
Sounds like a Tepper plan.

My fear is he will have a much better year this year (but still mid by league standards) and they will feel the need to offer an extension next off season.

Canales seems different this year in the press conferences and interviews
I can’t quite put my finger on it
he doesn’t seem so ‘Sammy sunshine’ as he has in the past ..almost a tad detached
maybe he was just deferring to Dan as the draft is Dan’s show
I got the sense he didn’t like the 1st round pick. He obviously loved the WR though. One of the scouts said Dave was targeting him the whole time. -

So if we stand pat and our current starting Center gets injured like he always does and Bryce Young goes back to having massive humans in his face ready to smash him into the turf you're not going to have anything critical to say right????
A 5th round rookie center isn’t going to help. -

I just talked to my friend again. The one who predicted the earlier prediction in the first round. He got it 100% right.
He's now saying that on the next pick and you can take this to the bank. He guarantees that the next pick
Is....will piss off half the huddle.
That is his prediction.
Short project QB?-

If anyone thinks this is a bad pick then you just don't understand football and how the oline works. Kid is 6'8 and has generational athleticism
He’s also a swing tackle. He said he’s just as comfortable on the right side. -

Then why did he last till 19?
Not as much playing time as the other tackles.

Yeah, obviously, but not all college LTs pan out at LT in the NFL. Again, where is it coming from other than just the huddle making assumptions?
I’m confused. You’re asking why a guy who played his entire college career as a LT would be a good nfl LT? A guy who started for one of the best SEC programs? A guy that allowed a 1.8% pressure rate in 2025, which was the lowest among all left tackles in college football? That’s just an assumption?

Im seeing posts here say he can play LT but from what Im reading, he is a raw RT. What is the assumption he would be good at LT coming from?
Because he played LT at Georgia. He played 28 games for Georgia. All were at LT.

Such a good pick. I think we just drafted our new Jordan Gross. And no not just because hes white. Either way offensive line is so important, and Im so happy to beef it up
This dude could end up being the best tackle in franchise history.-

I assume he is our swing T this year unless he beats out Walker
He should be able to beat Walker. Even if not; I doubt walker makes it the whole season.-

The first round pick needs to start.
So either a TE, DL, LB, S, or maybe CB.
OL in the 2nd or 3rd.

I bet a DT or OL falls.
Someone good will be passed on. Take them.

Would love to know what the expectation/plan is for Icky. I'm glad we're not counting on him to return to form. Potential switch to RT to replace Moton long-term?
Back to LT or L guard. My money is on LG. -

Feel like Proctor is too big and should be a guard
Proctor is a no go for LT. Very slow and to heavy.-

I think so too. I think they planned to go Defense in the draft, but had to pivot due to Icky’s injury. Not terrible, since we’ll need an OT eventually to move to RT or slide in at guard. Icky will probably spend the rest of his career at guard.-

The lack of left tackle being next to TE and nickel in that first line is just baffling to me.
Finding half decent LTs in free agency is rare.Going to have to draft it.

So we paid 18.5 million for a turnstile?
Dan Fitterer baby!
Based on what I’m seeing, turnstiles put up more of a fight than this guy.

Nothing magic here.
Bad orgs ruin good QB prospects. Good orgs can make mid QBs work.
As a whole, the NFL gives up on QBs far too soon.

The bunny is indeed quite bad.

I wish we had drafted Maye. Local kid. Would have been perfect.
Anyway, defense wins championships.

Gets on a show that is completely overt that they are a "Football First Show" and this dipshit spends the first few minutes of the show talking about his shitty soccer team before the Panthers ever even get mentioned.
He’s one of those people who feels the need to give too much detail when explaining something. -
Been a roller coaster the past 24 hrs for him.

I saw this speculation on twitter a few weeks ago.
No one has spoken up to deny it. Maybe Health issue?
