Gets on a show that is completely overt that they are a "Football First Show" and this dipshit spends the first few minutes of the show talking about his shitty soccer team before the Panthers ever even get mentioned.

He’s one of those people who feels the need to give too much detail when explaining something.

Sam Darnold is still very much Sam Darnold.  That's been evident all season long.

The Seahawks simply are a better team than the Jets and Panthers were.

He’s a great example of building a good team around a limited QB.

    Something we can definitely do.

Icky is gonna miss a good chunk of next year with no guarantee he'll return to form. Moton will be 33 next season and there's too much smoke around the whispers of his chronic knee issues for their not to be some fire there. OT pretty high is imminently defensible.

It is. I just fear he won’t.

LT is a need.  Big un.

We should draft an OL high, but we probably won’t.

I don’t think Dan is that ruthless. He’s a player friendly guy, who isn’t going to cast off a hometown guy due to injury.

Not the right choice, but I suspect he’ll grab a backup quality LT in FA or very late in the draft.

Trading him was honestly the right move. We needed draft assets to build around at that point much more than we needed a huge money RB that had missed a bunch of games the previous two seasons. That we did a ton of terrible drafting for years on end is totally different conversation.

Was it though? Draft picks are lottery tickets. We traded a Ferrari for a few power ball tickets.

The odds were never good for us. It only makes sense if we couldn’t afford him. Given our lack of QB or any real talent…we could afford him.

Great players make other players great. A concept our past GMs never understood.

I think people are missing the difficult part of doing this and that is having a competent FO that has the skill/ability to draft and fill out a roster. This isn’t easy to do. The Steelers have that ability. A few teams do/did (49ers/Eagles). The Panthers absolutely have and do NOT.

That’s because Steelers ownership has been willing to give their staff the time to do that.

Most owners like Tepper demand wins immediately. Guys don’t get the time to build a real team and then develop a young QB. Thats when you get coaches and GMs mortgaging the future of the team on Hail Mary trades and FA acquisitions.

Okay, that sounds a little better than I expected. That was basically a non-answer.

Listen, if you're considering handing out a franchise QB contract that's not something you're caduakky talking through. That's top of mind, first thing on the docket stuff.

I imagine they will start to explore what his side wants so they can be prepared.

It didn’t sound like something he wanted to do.

No we need to go heavy defense in the draft, address tackle in free agency

It’s been talked about for years, but good OL is almost never available in FA. We got lucky (overpaid) with the two guards we have. For the most part, teams have to draft for it.

I don’t want an OT at 19. Our o line has held up okay throughout injury. I think you sign Christensen and Nijman. If LT gets bad, put Moton on that side.

LB needs blue chip talent. I think we look for a tackle in the 3rd or 4th, in a addition to a flex center/guard.

    BPA in the 1st.

    LT in the 2nd.

Wonder how much money Icky lost off this injury. Sucks because it didn't even look bad when the injury happened.

Would be nice if he came recovered well and somehow could get a multiyear dear with him that is much cheaper than what he would have gotten pre-injury

Prob a $100 million at least. Rough.

Lol wut? It’s a very serious injury but he’s 25 and can absolutely come back from this. You don’t give up on home grown talent….franchise left tackles don’t grow on trees. You don’t remember the absolute disaster that position has been other than J gross? He will likely make his way back in the middle of the season.

45.6% of players with that injury never return to NFL action. And nearly 80% of players didn't return within two seasons.

Those that do return, few return to their pre injury performance and most have much shorter careers.

This is not a player you pay, or trust to be available.

He might come back in 2027, but I wouldn’t bet the season on him.

    We need a replacement.
