Accurate in a talent vacuum but no one was questioning Mayfield and Darnold's NFL talent.
Everyone was questioning that. The narrative was that Darnold was too dumb to play in the league.
Baker looked like he couldn’t play football when he was here.

By 10 year old asked: “why are the Panthers always so bad at football?”

Nowhere else to post it but how did the panthers fumble baker and darnold so bad? Darnold looks like stud right now
Because this fan base + ownership want immediate results.
Like all QBs, they play well when the team plays well.
We were trash when they were here.

I just find it utterly hilarious just how badly this place trashed Darnold and Mayfield while they were here and now we keep finding excuses to blame their success somewhere else on everything else except us.
It’s sad that people are stilling putting the blame on the QB. -

I know everyone wants to pick a side… Bryce or no Bryce. I wanted Stroud but Bryce is showing you everything you could possibly want to see considering the circumstances of no running game, a historically bad defense, and a kicker who can’t hit outside of 40 yards.
Some people just want Elite play immediately.
No patience.
No understanding of how other players + coaching impact QB play.
Bryce is staying for a while. Yelling about it isn’t going to change anything.

Tepper is like the average Panther’s fan. If a QB isn’t immediately an all-pro hall of famer, he wants to move on.
Football is the ultimate team sport. The team has to be good for the QB to be good and vise-versa. There are very very few exceptions.
Darnold never would have been good here because the team is still bad.

Let’s see what the next few games and next year look like.
Remember, our LT and WR + TE corp wouldn’t start on any good team.

Because we can't get much for him.
Considering two of our last 3 QB cast-offs have gone on to be good players, I’m sure there is a market for another one.-

Maybe you should go back and watch the prior 17 or so before judging off of 3-4.
And again, where am I judging anything? I have pretty clearly acknowledged that Dallas is whopping the whole team today.
Unfortunately, I did watch all of those.
Bryce will be here next year as a starter. We’ll see what happens then.
No amount of fan complains will cause the team to replace him.I’ve seen reason to hope he can become something…that is all I’m pointing out.

And that throw from Rush, and this game in general, shows exactly why single instances of looking good is meaningless. My take on Bryce has always been that his ceiling is somewhere around Bridgewater/Alex Smith levels of effectiveness and results.
Haven't said much these recent weeks since I haven't had a chance to watch. Can finally watch this game and it's ugly, but Dallas seems to be eating their lunch today in general.
You should go back and watch the past 3-4 games before you judge based only on this game.

Time will tell. He’ll be here all next year at least. -

T-Mac wouldn't be a developmental rookie, this isn't drafting a raw WR in the late first or early 2nd who needs to work on a lot of things before they can make an impact, but any edge rusher we might draft in the 1st round would be.
This isn't a good free agent WR class, there's Higgins and then a big drop off, and even then, Higgins isn't a true elite #1, more of an elite #2 or low end #1. It's much easier to find impact defensive players in free agency these days than on offense, teams make sure to lock up their offensive weapons before the defensive ones.
im good drafting one if he’s day one starter. He’d have to be a high 1st rounder though.
-
We need a WR in FA.
Bryce needs someone with experience.
Not another developmental rookie.
Either take one of the 2 best WRs in the draft or go defense.

He was.

Can you translate all that for us that don't speak the language.
1. He’s elusive.
2. He makes high difficulty high value throws3. 6th highest average depth of target.

We have a tendency to let the good ones go.
Decent recent 2nd rounders
Moton
Bradberry
Samuel
Donte Jackson
Chinn? Prob won’t count him.

you cant see say "if" so and so catches the ball and not apply it across the board. Every qb deals with dropped passes. And if you go there you can say "if" theilen doesnt make a crazy play on the tipped pass on 4rth down its a blowout. You cannot deal in hypotheticals and not layer it across the board. This game is one with ebbs and flows, its just is what it is. The margins are too thin for mistakes.
That’s fine. So he’s 14th in passing yards over the past 3 games. A little more than Mahomes.-

It doesn't work like that
If we’re judging his play since the benching it does.Live and die on stats if you must, he looks way better and we’ll know if he is the long term answer sometime next season.
You’ve made your point. Now wait and see what happens.

Let’s take out all the terrible games at the start of the year. How do we rank over the past 3 games?
14th it turns out.
(who is that at 15th)?
Now…what would the rank be if we didn’t have all those drops?

Putting all your chips on a "raw prospect", seems foolish to me. Having to take the time of training him up and then hoping for the best in the end.
If the move doesn't work out, it's then a waste of a pick and time. This team has been down this road before, and I can't think of one that has worked out. No matter what position.
Stop gambling and playing "magic eight" ball in the draft. Choose players that you are sure have the necessary tools to excel. Pick a player who checks all the boxes, especially with a high pick.
DJ Moore was pretty raw. -

The two major improvements are that he's now somehow finding space in the pocket - he's stepped up and scrambled several times where in the past he'd just take a sack - and Canales has basically thrown any play that requires velocity on the ball out of the playbook.
Is it sustainable? Who knows.
Ron took all touch and anticipation throws out of Cams playbook. It worked out ok. -

A rod still sucks with wilson and adams.
Caleb sucks with dj, odunze and Allen.
Bryce is playing well with x and thielen as his top 2 and x is playing like young is throwing grenades.
I wonder if there is a stat for yards and tds dropped. Young would probably be leading the league
One or two fewer drops by XL would give Bryce a better stat line against the Eagles than Burrow. -

I disagree, he doesn't have the physical tools, his "potential" is severely limited because of that fact.
Before these last few weeks he's been so bad that people are confusing serviceable with true franchise QB potential.
He was the #1 overall pick and he's looking barely serviceable at the end of his 2nd season, that's not a good thing, he should have been looking like this from game 1 last year.
Not every players path is the same. Not everyone improves on a linear trajectory.
At this point, his potential is the same as Strouds.
Time will tell.
Just a reminder...

Sure, they have the physical talent.
But people doubted their mental ability to play at this level.
