  1. We won't have interest in him. His X-Rays got leaked: Those who aren't familiar with the medical field may need it pointed out, but there is no dawg in there.
  2. Round 1, pick 31 SF comes up and only 4 WRs have been selected so far in the first round. Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, and Thomas are all off the board and KC picks next at 32 with a glaring need at WR. Do you try to jump KC to draft one of the remaining Available WRs in Mitchell, Franklin, Worthy, Pearsall, etc.? Looking at the draft trade charts, it looks like the deal could potentially be made if we package pick 39 with our 4th rounder (pick 101). We would then miss out on the 4th round entirely and then have two picks back to back in the 5th. Would you make the trade? What is the most you would be willing to give up in order to make the deal? Is there a WR you would be comfortable making that trade for? Is it worth the trade to get the 5th year option built into his conract? Is making sure you get the guy you want worth the potential 4th round pick given up to take him?
  3. Another one that I remembered because Smitty did a breakdown on him: Jalen Coker: Great routes, great hands, great ball skills, good at the scramble drill, average speed, small school with limited competition, mid to late round prospect.
  4. There are honestly a TON of great 2nd tier guys in this draft. Guys who would be a fringe first getting pushed to the 2nd and 2nd rounders in most drafts might get pushed into the 3rd strictly from the depth the class has. I want a guy who can get open either with speed or gets open with good routes. 2nd round potential targets: McConkey Mitchell Pearsall Franklin 3rd and beyond: Corley Wilson (Michigan) Burton Javon Baker Ja'lynn Polk A few others that are escaping me.
  5. SC Fans, why did he do literally nothing for 3 years then explode onto the scene his senior season?
  6. Mike's knees and Metlife's turf are a match made for IR. Hope he stays healthy but woof, that is not the place to go if you have lower leg problems.
  7. So you're saying that one of the best things about this collection of lineman is their VERSATILITY?
  8. I hope you all find someone who loves you as much as the saints love 7 win seasons.
  9. That one year deal will turn into a 3 year deal even if he isn't on the roster next season as they keep kicking the can down the road
  10. Man, I want young to be good because then we have a franchise QB, but I also want him to be good so everyone that jumped down his throat in this fandom can be shamed for all eternity for giving up on a player less than a year into his rookie season.
  11. For those interested in Field's stats in clutch/must-pass situations: He is the anti-clutch and cannot throw the ball when defenses know he has to. Remove the run threat and you don't have a QB. Compared to Bryce in the same situations: So not great but still better. The same people wanting Fields are the same that poo on Young for "only doing decent against prevent" when fields Can't even pass against prevent. Again, no reason to trade for Fields when he is a worse QB.
  12. I have said it before, Fields is an ELECTRIC runner, like Lamar Jackson levels of good at running the ball. He unfortunately is Jimmy Clausen levels of throwing the football. His athleticism makes up some for his shortcomings as a passer which provide highlight reel plays at least once a game, but the rest of the time he drops back to pass he looks lost. It very well could be a horrible offensive fit, that does happen, some QBs are better equipped to run certain offenses over others. Fields would probably do better in a Greg Roman style offense where they really lean into the QB's mobility at the detriment to the passing game, but that offense only works for so long and Fields would need to progress much further as a passer in order to reclaim a starting position in the league. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to LAC next offseason, or up to BAL to backup Lamar.
  13. They wanted to give him a fair shot which is good, but he just did not improve over 3 years. They took the trade because it was a king's ransom that would set them up for the future whether Fields was good or not. Like if we absolutely suck next year but BY gets hurt for an extended period of time so we can't properly evaluate him, don't be surprised if we do the same thing they did and trade away the #1 pick to some dumbass team willing to sacrifice a ton of capital for a franchise QB while we punt to 2026, give Bryce another shot, then use the draft capital to retool in 2026. Not saying I want it to happen, it just prolongs our misery as fans, but I wouldn't be surprised.
  14. He would look like absolute garbage in shanahan's offense because he can't read the field and pull the trigger in a timely manner. Granted, he could have been coached better in SF and therefor looked better, but as things stand now he just isn't a starting QB in the league.
  15. they just paid two guards top money traded for a WR and set themselves up to take BPA and BPWR after the Burns trade. They made changes already. Trading for Fields does nothing to improve our team for either the short or long haul because: a - He's not good b - they already have Bryce so it would be a waste to add Fields for a meaningless QB competition c - They want to evaluate Bryce with a better supporting cast d - Fields is only under contract for this season so there is no incentive to actually play and pay him e - it's throwing even more draft assets at a QB, something we have done enough of already f - is for friends who do stuff together g - we aren't expected to be great this season, we're going to evaluate the offense and make changes next season if necessary The only reasons for trading for fields were: a - he run good b - it didn't cost much As bad as Bryce was last season, he was still a better passer than Fields was. Fields was absolute ass garbage at throwing the ball and has been since he entered the league. He's an electric runner, but that is it. He can't read a defense, can't scan the field, scrambles into sacks, and can't throw with anticipation.
  16. So why waste another pick when you can just roll with Bryce and make that decision in 2025 and use the capital saved to address other needs? It would just be more poor asset management throwing more draft picks at QBs when the team as a whole was a dumpster fire last season. Give Bryce another shot and see what we actually have.
  17. Damn, you guys want to go through the Darnold situation again while we already have a young guy under contract? As soon as we trade for him we'd have to choose to pick his 5th year option up. Then if (when) he sucks, you owe him all that money like Darnold, or you don't sign him and you rent him as a backup for a year and let him walk which would be pointless.
  18. Some people still can't comprehend that if fields were any good he wouldn't have been traded in the first place?
  19. what do you want Cam to resign from?
  20. It infuriates me that there are no headers in this picture. For all I know this is a dick sizing chart measuring length, girth, and dark matter occupancy.
  21. Honestly, I'm kind of all in on a culture rebuild, haven't done a proper one since Ron was hired. Remember when we kept the core of a 2-14 team and then sucked for 3 more years with bad contracts? Well now we'll suck for 3 more years with a better cap situation.
  22. Jadeveon Clowney is a solid DE who has earned his role as a starter on multiple teams. He didn't end up being #1 overall pick good, but he is an A+ Run defender and decent pass rusher. Years when he actually stays healthy (Which is not often) he puts up solid numbers. He's also light-years better than anyone else on our roster who plays the position.
