They hire and draft folks who hold a good conversation over a nice meatball dinner. It is what it is.
Yeah its true, I remember all the people making fun of Nick Sirianni cause he had awkward answers at his introductory press conference, same with McDaniels, kind of an awkward dude, but a hell of a coach. Our ownership gets swept away by fluff answers and pretty responses it seems.

Where do we think Thomas Brown ends up? Back with the Rams?

Preach. That’s why I’m talking myself more and more into a coach with a defensive background. Mayo, Anarumo, a real culture setter
I'm not opposed to a defensive coach, I think there's some advantages to it, as less of them get HC jobs so it should in theory be easier to get the best of the best on the defensive side. I'm just surprised that when mentioning defensive HC candidates, you didn't mention the one right in front of our eyes in Evero, guy is a stud, what he's doing with an very injured defense and an inept offense is spectacular imo.

I wouldn't want Bill the GM but Bill the HC for sure. He could instill a culture we desperately need here.
Also he would have absolutely no problem telling Tepper to fug right the fug off lol
I don't know, it feels like that "culture" left for Tampa Bay and won a Superbowl. Maybe a change of scenery would help, but I think Bill is done, If we wanted to go the defensive route, give me Eviro.

I’d have to see the numbers, but I don’t feel like we’ve used it very much at all.
Nah you are right, I guess I was confusing regular ol playaction from shotgun for RPO

And as a general rule, defenses don't tend to get fooled by it
Fooled by shotgun play action or RPOs? I will say the shotgun play action kinda feels half-assed, like the QB is clearly looking up reading the defense while hes "handing" it off lol

Oh man if this is true then he definitely needed to be fired. I think Young will be good, but man don’t take a guy and not build the offense around him.
Maybe I am wrong but I feel like we do run RPOs quite a bit? or am I mistaking play action from shotgun as something different?

What about Eviro? The success of Ryans down in Houston kind of shows you can be a defensive head coach and still be open to new concepts/aggressive on offense. I guess they may run into the same issue if Slowik is hired elsewhere, having to find a new playcaller etc all the time but I think the job Eviro has done with an injury depleted defense, with an offense sabotaging games is pretty impressive.

Just as an FYI, if you are a student (or can use someone's student email) you can get the Youtube Sunday Ticket for like 100 bucks versus the 360 or whatever it is.

24-26 million is what I would call acceptable for Burns. Not 30+ million.
You may think that, but reality is, that's not the market.

It had to be one of the 15 or so plays where he was able to get up after being buried in the turf by a defensive lineman.
Yeah, hes tough as hell, I dont think anyone can take that away from him. Still though, can we please fix our o-line? Its not ideal long term lol

Oh my, the Panther fan in me felt like he was going to miss that second one after the penalty we couldnt decline lol

Does anyone have a strong feeling the offense is largely going to look the same? I feel like we have a tendency to skewer the person with the final say while giving excuses for the people who are involved, ie: Fitterer getting off the hook while Rhule was around, turns out he doesnt look much better once hes in control. I have a feeling not much will change with Thomas Brown calling plays, outside of the actual playcall, he was heavily involved in the offensive design. I dont feel like its going to be some night and day difference people expect

I know people want to see some more deep shots connected, I do as well, but if you watch this and don't see some promise, or something to get excited about, I don't know what to tell you.

I did find it strange that David is meeting with Frank weekly, like I dont think thats typical for an owner to meet with the head coach that often, especially one that has zero football knowledge in personnel or schematics. I could see the occasional meeting with Fitt, kinda see how things are going, what some future plans may be type of thing, but meeting with the coach? What kind of stuff is Tepper suggesting? Theres zero chance of a turn around if he continues this.

What's baffling is they admitted they were enamored with Bryce because of his "point guard mentality". Well, if you surround a pass first PG with a trash supporting cast on the basketball court, you're gonna have trash.
I guess I never understood the pointguard mentality, isnt every QB a pointguard? They all pass the ball to their receivers lol. I get maybe like Cam or AR are more capable on their own making plays because they can run, but Stroud is more of a passer than runner, the point guard thing was always a strange thing.

Exactly. Idk why Dan Morgan is brought up like he’s done anything. I think he just meant temporarily though.
They need to literally clean house. This is downright embarrassing.
Yeah, I think you need to totally clean house, too many holdovers constantly from previous regimes. New FO, new coach, new staff, new scouting department, and most importantly, a new President of Football Operations so Tepper can stay far far away.

This would be very Panther like to drop games against terrible teams and randomly win this one to inspire hope

Yeah, If we trade him, he will go elsewhere and never be injured again lol.

Lost in all of this, I kind of forgot Jaycee Horns 4th game would be the Lions. Have they said any updates when he will be returning possibly?

Under JR we never had consistent sustained success but we had enough sporadic success to maintain interest and hope. This feels boring and hopeless.
Yeah, its really not ideal. I remember the early Tepper days, much excitement, much hope lol. Now... feels like he can't make a single right decision. Its kind of crazy, like you would think just out of law of averages, he would get something right lol.

Is this updated for all weeks? I know we saw this a couple weeks back, is it the same graphic or one that is updated?

Man the “Bryce is terrible “crap is getting old. Hes played 3 games and last week he wasnt even all that bad lot of plays that screwed him over ( Ian thomas blatanly dropping a td pass etc).
you guys are ridiculous
People love to be miserable. Have things gone how we wanted from him? Answering truthfully, no. Some major FOMO seeing Stroud? Of course. But to say he hasn't improved pretty clearly each week just isnt the case. If he continues this path, he will be fine.

I can't imagine Tepper is going to be happy watching the Lions and Ben Johnson dominate us this week while Frank is on the sidelines struggling to get 2 ypc. I still have a feeling if Frank is canned at the end of this year, Tepper may offer Ben Johnson some ridiculous contract to be our coach. Also, I think he's a smart OC, but I'm not entirely sure the system works as well as it does without Dan Campbell and the juice he brings to motivate his players.

If you were GM, how would you use our that first pick in round 2?

The notion that free agents wont come to Carolina, or any other not so ideal place is just never true. Sure, you probably aren't getting the aging vet looking for one last chance at a ring, but in almost all cases, the free agent signs where the money is best, regardless. Obviously they compare two situations if the money is the same, but these guys have short careers, they will go where the money is.
