Rhule and Tepper may not have spoken yet?

Per Ellis/Glazer Rhule not exactly “safe”
Jay Roosevelt replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
So wait until all the good OC candidates turn us down, fire Rhule, and all the top HC candidates are off the market? Makes as much sense as anything else this franchise has done since Tepper took over. -
Meh. At this point all that matters is getting as high a pick in '23 as possible.

You can get an experienced veteran CB for a LOT cheaper than Gilmore. It's not that I don't want to keep him, I just don't think it's a wise way to use our cap space when we should be investing in the OL. Plus, by the time we're even close to being a playoff team Gilmore will be aging and no longer a top corner anyway. I just can't see paying a guy his age $14M+ a year when we have so many more pressing needs elsewhere.
-
Only Reddick, Luvu, and Zylstra are worth keeping, IMO. Jackson isn't worth close to what he'll be asking for and Gilmore is a luxury we can't afford at this stage. Cam depends on how the coaching situation plays out.

Brady Christensen scores highest ratings of the season at LT again.

How is Michael Jordan still employed? -
Damn, there are some shitty teams in the NFL this year.

There are things I like about Howell, but I feel he is massively overrated here due to UNC homerism.

Trade down, best QB available and the rest Oline..
Jay Roosevelt replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only way I support going QB in the 1st is if we somehow manage to upgrade the OL significantly in free agency, which seems doubtful. -
If anyone need a good laugh… browns logo

It can't be unseen -
I like Pickett a lot, but the pick better be OL.

There is no hope with Rhule.

Trade D.J. Moore.

1) Comparing Rhule's Baylor and Temple teams to the 80s Hurricanes is laughable. Rhule was known more for re-building failed programs than for coaching elite ones. Big difference. 2) Jimmy Johnson built his Dallas dynasty largely via the insane haul from the Herschel Walker trade. No player today short of Patrick Mahomes would net even close to that many picks, much less a RB. Jimmy got a king's ransom for a RB; Rhule traded multiple picks for Sam Darnold. 3) As we saw years later with Barry Switzer, practically any functional coach could have had success with a team as stacked as Dallas in the early 90s.

LT in '22 and tank for Bryce Young in '23.

Red Rover, Red Rover, Send ___ right over
Jay Roosevelt replied to Reebis21's topic in Carolina Panthers
D.J. Moore should be a no-brainer trade in the offseason, IMO. We could get a 1st rounder from a contender in the 20s for sure. I like him as a player, but our offense is a LONG way from being able to make use of him and any big contract extension would be a luxury we can't afford at this point. Trade him and take the best OL available with the pick, after taking the best OL available in the top-10. -
I think he absolutely can be a transcendent NFL talent, particularly with another year at 'Bama to get even better. I generally have not been a big fan of Alabama QBs over the years (I have never been a Tua fan and was lukewarm on Mac Jones) but Bryce Young is far and away the best of the three, IMO. He has everything you look for in a modern NFL franchise QB except ideal size and even then it's not like we haven't seen smaller QBs have a lot of success in the NFL in recent years; Kyler Murray comes to mind. No doubt Alabama is stacked with OL and receiving talent as always, but barring a huge regression next year Young is the best QB prospect they've had during Saban's tenure, IMO.

Is it too early to talk about tanking for Bryce Young in 2023?
