  2. I heard a rumor they were actually looking at Trevin at some big nickel packages. Not saying it will work out but they may try him there some in camp.
  3. I watched him play Auburn in week 1 and he looked like an NFL QB to me. His arm looked solid, maybe not the most mobile guy but still has some talent.
  4. GMs care though. One bad season and they can get fired. Drafting a player in the 1st that would only start due to injury is pretty rare. It make sense to us fans who have the luxury of thinking beyond this year.
  5. I guess there is some confusion here. Picking an OT in the first probably isn't happening unless there is someone that drops to our spot. We absolutely need to draft an OT in this draft for depth/future, but signing Walker gives us the luxury of taking one in the mid rounds who might not be ready to start right away. I also wouldn't be surprised if we sign BC for a reasonable contract for depth once we clear up some space. There seems to be mutual interest there. Leashes are just too short in the NFL for a GM to draft a player that wouldn't be an immediate impact player in the 1st round unless there is huge value. We also need a C in this draft to learn behind our one year rental as well. Again I don't see this happening in the 1st, but mid to late could work there. Ideally we draft a C and future RT to take over for Moton after this year for our OL. Then we can decided between Walker/Icky (depending on recovery) for future LT.
  6. It would be tough to draft a non starter in round 1, but the benefit down the road would be nice...
  7. Seems a bit undersized as well. I believe he was basically calling the defensive plays on the field. He is very knowledgeable, but I wouldn’t want him at 19 personally.
  8. He is not as athletic as the other guys in his class. It would only hurt his stock at this point...
  9. We bought a pick? It was money already spent. We acquire a pick for a QB that was probably looking at retirement.
  10. They don't have guidelines for hand size for the backup QB.
  11. Project players are for the later rounds. These are the ones that are nice to gamble on. Not a first round pick like XL…
  12. They are typically prove it deals for players. They play great this one year and one of the 32 teams is paying them a nice contract in the offseason usually.
  13. Flexibility. If they don’t work out we simply walk away. If they look great we have the first crack at extending them.
  14. Gives us some options too. Draft a project one to learn behind him, extend him if he plays great, move on from Icky, move Icky to another spot depending on his recovery etc…
  15. Still weird he signed a 1 year deal as a young decent LT, I'm surprised someone else didn't offer him a longer term deal...
  16. Yep. Just may need a minute to gel with the OL. Same goes for our new C.
  17. I don't hate the idea. I still would like an OT early but it can be more of a project guy now to replace Moton or LT next year Icky pending...
  18. Nice! Looks like it's a one year deal so basically just a fill in until we get some answers with Icky next year.
  19. We also have two very expensive and seasoned OGs which is a good time to insert a rookie OT. Learning beside Hunt or Lewis can really help a rookie OT. I'd love an OT in the 1st/2nd and an C in the middle somewhere to sit behind the guy we just signed for a year.
