Ours at least isn't from lack of effort in our front office. Icky missed the first game, Moton missed week 6, Hunt has missed a lot of the games and will be out for a while, Lewis was out last game, our center fortunately upgraded when Corbs went down. I don't know if we have started the same group of OL yet this year....

For some reason they traded off his OL and have done a poor job replacing them. Especially in a year with a new offensive coordinator. On a side note, Slowik might have been better than they thought.

I've mentioned him before. He has also learned behind Shanny and now Harbaugh who are two solid coaches with QBs. Also he has had time to sit and get healthy as you pointed it. If we can get him for a good deal we should be all over it. Watching Dak from the sidelines probably helped him too if I'm being honest.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?ForJimmy replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft He has an arm no doubt. I think he has two NFL WRs with Lemon being one of the best in the country. Add in RIley's offense helping QBs is hard to tell how much is him vs the system and weapons. I wouldn't be against a mid to late flier on him though.

Packers at Lambeau and 49ers in SF (assuming CMC is healthy) are tough. We just aren't good on the road. We could possibly take the Seahawks at home depending on if we can get pressure on Sam or not.

I wanted Fields in the draft. That Clemson game sold me on him. If he was ever going to be good that time has passed. He has been ruined.
-
I wouldn’t write him off yet. He was always a bit of a project and hasn’t got to see the field much. He looked pretty decent in preseason for whatever that’s worth.

I don’t think we were watching the same game. Dalton’s passes weren’t on target either. Especially the 30 yard one that gave XL one third of his yards. The one he had to stop and come back for. XL just got more targets because Sauce was on TMac.
-
I‘m sure there were factors making it look worse, but that was 100% XL on that catch. It’s good to see him have a good game.
-
Yeah I’m not saying Bryce is better. Just Dalton isn’t better at this point in his career.
-
My point is Andy isn’t going to unlock XL. XL was already having a good game before Andy came out, under threw his WRs, and took a sack taking us out of field goal range. He isn’t going to help this offense any more than Young has. We saw it last year. This also isn’t a pro Bryce respond as much as it is an Andy is no better. I was more venting at his performance. @Proudiddydidn’t say anything I’m arguing against as much as I’m adding to his frustrations.

That last throw?? It was an air ball Dalton floated up for a 30 yard pass that XL had to literally stop his wide open route and jump and catch while the CB caught up with him. Dalton isn’t the QB people think he is at this point in his career. Remember last year when he had to play several games for us? It wasn’t good…

I keep want to look at the draft out of habit from previous Octobers
-
He needs to leave Shula and play for a team than can develop him. Lincoln Riley at the other USC could do wonders for him. I doubt he leaves though as he is from SC.
-
I’ll start by saying he has been very disappointing. I will also say that targets don’t always equal catchable balls. I’ve seen some misses and I’ve seen him get open but not targeted (especially that Dallas game). Has he struggled? Yes very much so. It’s also a case of our offense trying to find him a role and our QB getting chemistry with him in that role. I don’t think he will ever live up to his draft status but I could see him being a Brandon Lafell type player. His last second pull away in his Miami TD was a thing of beauty so there is definitely talent there. Hopefully we can get it out of him soon.
-
For Cade Mays? So you are looking at 12-13 million a year for a good center. Normally I’d be all for it but our OL is so expensive we would have to let Icky walk (I’m not against this but he is playing well), trade Moton who we just extended or get out from Hunt’s deal after next year (there is an out) to clear out some space tied to the OL.
-
I wonder how much it will cost to extend him?
-
Hopefully Coker, XL, Treymane, or Horn can develop into a nice compliment to TMac.

Bryce's Achilles Heel Is Not What You Think It IsForJimmy replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers

I wouldn’t mix it up that much. Just leave it as ht was this past week unless Moton is healthy then swap him for Yosh.

Hey You, You Don't Know QuarterbackingForJimmy replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers I only used it because it’s being said he can’t. I’ve said this 100 times already but these deep passes people get obsessed with are much more on the WR than the QB. If Burrow throws a bomb to Chase and he is either wide open or makes a catch in tight coverage those both are more WR plays than QB to me. Bryce has shown many flaws but I don’t think throwing the ball 20 yards to a player in coverage is something he or any NFL QB can’t do. He just gets sloppy under pressure and tries some Mahomes type backfoot throws that do require elite arm strength in which he does not have.

Hey You, You Don't Know QuarterbackingForJimmy replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers It’s when people say he can’t make “NFL throws” of 20 yards or more. So it’s saying he can’t throw it over 20 yards in the NFL. He did several times last week (he also did the 2nd half of the season) so it shifted to the guys have to be wide open. His arm isn’t the problem. It’s his fundamentals.
