Haha don't take anything too seriously on here. It's all in good fun! We both want CJ right?? Let's hope it happens and we will both be even more excited for the season!!!

I see you posting on this thread you want locked.

Kicking the tires would require us to have a talk with him, which is really all he said. IF we liked his asking price then we would make an offer. I don't think he was implying we were very serious, just giving us a timeline of everything... I think the meeting we had scheduled was a real one.

He needs to go to Buffalo for a mid pick and Tenn will probably have to eat most of that contract...

Are you referring to that Leaky Faucet poster? I don't think he was wrong. I am sure our staff was going to meet with Carr like he suggested to get an idea of how cheap we could sign him for before going all in on trading up. He was pretty clear about IF they are good on the price then we would bring him in to Charlotte. It just wasn't a priority to us.

If we were serious about Carr we wouldn't have dragged our feet like we did. The Saints and Jets brought him in day 1 and make it clear he was option 1 for them. Several reports have also stated we were just "kicking the tires" on Carr. My thought was always we would sign him if we could get him for relatively cheap. The Saints more than likely gave him what he wanted financially.

He makes them interesting at least. If he is healthy that offense could be explosive. -

I want us to land Stroud and the Falcons to trade for Jackson. It could make the NFC South fun! -

Got it. I was very confused... -

Huh? I was just inquiring what our staff's next move is? How much our staff likes the 3rd option vs the 1st option vs the cost of the picks is just logic right? -

It's a short term expensive solution to make a team solid, but not elite. At least that's just my opinion... -

So we see what will it take to trade up to 1 vs 3 and decided id QB1 looks THAT much better than QB 3/4 to justify the difference? -

If the Saints land Carr and the Ravens land Jackson, our division will be a lot more challenging.... -

9, CMC picks, plus next year's 1st. Does that get us to 3?? -
The Ravens can’t be this dumb? They’re a smart organization right?

Falcons might be all over that.... -

I definitely understand where you are coming from. I’d prefer we not use the 25 first if at all possible and maybe just move up to 3. It’s all just speculation at this point anyway. -

I don’t. I think if our staff wants a top 3 talented prospect at the QB position that is the cost for it. They can hope another Mahomes or Jackson gets overlooked in a draft and they can develop that player also. I just think they are wanting to start this whole QB development process this year. Maybe they sign Carr tomorrow and this is all for nothing who knows? -

If you are investing all that money in Carr I think we would use the picks for weapons to help him excel. Drafting a QB could also piss him off. It would be VERY aggressive though! -

That 1 can have a bigger impact than the other 3 especially if the next two years aren’t top 10 picks. It’s Cam’s impact vs Brown/Horn/CMC plus two later 1st round picks like Shaq or Benjamin. QBs are just that valuable anymore. I know you have to still build a team around them and missing those next 2 firsts will impact that greatly. The good news is we should be able to sign FAs with a rookie pay scale QB and out cleared up cap space the next two years. -

Yeah it’s a big loss, but it’s also an opportunity to add a staff-viewed top talented QB. Something (in theory) we won’t be in a position to do for a long time assuming our staff does it’s thing. That’s unfortunately the opportunity cost. -
Tepper was high on Fields for his draft. Maybe you are remembering that? There was a rumor he was high on Levis but that was before last season.
