  1. Doesn’t matter if he can’t read a defense. He might have more “talent” than Brady, but it’s meaningless…
  2. Interesting stat comparisons. I think his biggest negative is he only had one good season in his 4 as a starter. I kind of prefer Willis because of his upside, or a trade down and get Howell but I’m definitely not against Kenny.
  3. A team that trades away these assets to acquire him should only be a QB away from a Super Bowl. Teams like the Titans, Saints, Bucs make WAY more sense than us.
  4. Imagine if Derwin James stays healthy…
  5. I’m an Auburn fan and Bo Nix is a solid college QB. He played very well at home and won over the locker room pretty quickly. His dad was an Auburn QB so the school/fans were pushing for him pretty early on. I bet he takes the starting job at Oregon. It’s not really that relevant anyway because Willis was his own worst enemy at the time. He himself has said he had a lot of maturing/growing up to do when he transferred (reminds me a little of Cam going to Jr College to mature). He had Liberty ranked his second year there and took out a VA Tech team that had no business beating. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/auburn-football/malik-willis-on-his-time-at-auburn-i-was-so-immature/amp/ There is an article to read about it if you are interested.

  7. The big two are Stroud/Young, the others are high potential guys but still have something to prove. People are also going to question Stroud being from OSU’s system (I think it’s a dumb argument) and Young have a loaded team and being undersized. If it was 2020 Howell this year, he would be the top pick. Banking on next year is still not full proof because we don’t know what will happen over the college season and we don’t know where we will be picking/who will be ahead of us.
  8. I’d be ok with this or drafting one. Two options that won’t set us back too much. Your option is definitely the safest. I’m ok with taking some risk on a QB on only using ONE first round pick (possibly even a trade down).
  9. They had Howell and Rattler as the top 2 picks. His point was a long cab change in a year.
  10. Isn’t naming sources bad journalism? A lot of sources that “leak” info like this would be pissed if their name got leaked and would stop giving info.
  11. No one wanted Darnold and we outbid ourselves for him. No one wants to give up this for Watson, but once again we will be outbidding ourselves…
  12. Ugh imagine trading everything for Watson and watching the Texans use one of our 100 picks we give them on a stud rookie like Stroud/Young.
  13. It’s what almost every other team in the league does. Think of a star QB and with a couple exceptions (Favre, Warner) the team they played for during their prime was the team that drafted them.
  14. And it really won’t set us back that much. If he busts then we draft another one in a few years…. It’s a easier/safer/cheaper option that can still get the fans excited. Plan B. Just sign a Mariotta draft OL and draft our guy next year. It’s not as exciting, will probably cost Rhule his job, but is the safest plan to successfully rebuild the team.
  15. Just. Draft. A. QB. It will cost us ONE 1st and little salary cap hit and none of them have pending sexual assault charges.
  16. Jimmy G to the Colts makes all the sense. They need a game manager, already have an OL, running game, and defense. The Saints make sense too.
  17. Why are we so afraid of drafting a QB? Last time we did it, it worked out good with Cam. Grier was a late 3rd so I don’t really think he was ever considered a potential starter.
  18. So we fix the team by worrying about the most important position next year while trading away our best player this year. Got it!
  19. Teams that have the best shot at a Super Bowl usually have no cap room. So the options are usually take a minimum contract for a chance to win a championship or get paid a decent contract with a clear shot at playing time and chance to make more money…
  20. Those are pretty rare and we would have to own the top pick to get one. Trading up for it would cost a small fortune.
  21. Corral is very talented, but he seemed to always be playing through injuries. He takes hits and doesn’t really have the frame to do so. Maybe he will change his style some in the NFL, but I kind of view him as injury prone before getting into the league. He has some of the better ball placement skills and is quick on his feet though. He is also a tough competitor (but that also led to him taking some hits).
