Ghost - Morrow is what I'm referring to the most - ghost is not great defensively and Morrow is a train wreck at everything hockey related. Orlov - nikishin is also worrisome because orlov is a turnover machine

I question rod as much as the next dude, but he overachieved this year. Talent wise, this team isn't very good. I'm excited for the off-season when we can dump burns (and hopefully orlov) and try to rebuild line 2 + one or two D-men. Our core is locked up for a few years - we need to win a cup in the next 2-3 years

Yeah, I don't think there's enough attention for this. Rod learned a lot of his stuff from Maurice and they run the exact same style of hockey. The difference is they have way more talent than Carolina. Honestly the worst possible matchup for us

I think the hate on Purdy comes from the fact they had probably a top five OL, receiver, and running back roster at least the past 2 years. I agree he has unjust hate, but I also recognize that he has a lot of talent to help him out

And I won't even get into our forward lines... We have three legit forwards in aho, Svech, and Jarvis and a bunch of grinders. There is a reason why we have a hard time putting the puck in the net - nobody on this team knows how to shoot

I was more inclined to say fire rod last year than this year. I still think we are lacking significant talent on this team. Without chatty, our defense has old man burns who is washed, ghostbear who is a one-way player, orlov who makes numerous awful turnovers each game, a solid walker, and slavin. I think we are all definitely mad that nikishin didn't play, but we weren't winning this game with them anyway. The entire team came out flat, which is inexcusable at home down a game. If rod couldn't fire them up, I don't think any coach in the NHL does. Florida is the worst possible matchup for us because they play very similar to us but are better at doing it. It sucks we're going to get swept, but I honestly thought this team was a fringe at best playoff team once we traded away mikko

Sucks we are going to get embarrassed and lose all four games in blowouts, but I'm still more upset about 2023 than this year. The 2023 team looked a lot better than this year's team - we were pretty fortunate to get a very banged up devils team and then a capitals team that overachieved in the regular season
