  1. Guess I should have said active 53 + PS. First 4 or 5 dudes I saw we claimed were all WR & DB
  2. Not surprised Fat Fhule would do something that moronic... Dude relied on bossing his players around and hoping they would listen to him in college - that crap doesn't work in the NFL
  3. Hard to interpret something that way (even if it is accurate). Thielen knows the playbook and probably doesn't need as many reps, as say the rest of our receives who are rookies (Tet, Horn), 2nd/3rd year (XL, Coker, Tremayne), or were possible cut candidates (Renfrow, Moore). I probably wouldn't have focused as much on Thielen also when they needed a lot of info on all of the other receivers
  4. Crazy to think we pretty much got equivalent trade value out of Thielen and Mingo...
  5. Would rather have picked up some of his salary if we could keep our 5th round pick... Not sure what we are going to use our cap space on unless we plan to roll it over to next year
  6. Not the worst return in the world considering it sounded like the Vikings didn't want to give up anything better than a multiple 6ths a day ago. Still think the Vikings were desperate for Thielen and we shouldn't have budged from a 3rd (or something like their 3rd for AT and a 6th)
  7. Not sure if you are talking good or bad about Bryce with that statement... Regardless, this is his prove it year. Even if we don't get wins because our defense is very suspect, we need to look good on offense. If we don't, we are probably moving on
  8. While Vikings fans have been annoying the past few days wanting AT from us for pennies, we can't hate our purple brothers. We have them to think for NO shitting the bed in the playoffs twice in their peak super bowl chance window. I'll always love them just for the Minneapolis miracle and the meme it provided all of us
  9. If he stays healthy both seasons and still plays at a high level, it's a moot point and will end up working well for Trey. If he has a serious injury this year, he's screwed. He won't get a franchise tag and he will get a small 1 year deal after he recovers
  10. Hopefully we can find some better upgrades on waivers to replace DJ, Evans, Crumedy, and backup ILB
  11. Agreed. Once we decided to not trade away AT, it makes sense that Renfrow was expendable.
  12. No, but I do think he would have been used in a similar role of a zone buster slot that can run quick routes or option routes. That NFL experience of knowing man vs zone coverage and knowing where to sit against Cover 2 vs. 3 vs. 4 vs. 6/9 Don't think he was starting over Coker, but he would have definitely been next in line at slot had we of traded AT away.
  13. Good. If we are going to suck, lets at least get younger while sucking
  14. Good call. Figured it was between Renfrow and Horn for the last WR spot. Horn is not playing a meaningful snap this year unless we have 2+ receivers get injured - possibly 3 because I wouldn't be surprised if Tremayne is ahead of him. I think the only reason Horn (and Moore) are on the roster is for their special teams usefulness.
  15. Just goes to show you we don't need 5th round picks or worse from the Vikings. We have a better success rate with UDFAs than 5th-7th round picks. Not sure to be happy or sad about that though
  16. Jesus... Guess we had to find a new Ian Thomas replacement after finally letting his sorry ass go
  17. Glad we kept Tremayne. I think another team would have signed him had we released him. David Moore, on the other hand, can fug off also
  18. Definitely think the Bengals owner won the battle, unless there was some kind of "you can't franchise tag me next year clause". Gotta expect the Bengals are going to franchise him next year (if Trey stays healthy) for $36 mill. I haven't looked into the contract, but if his entire contract this year is guaranteed, I wonder if he could make up injuries like (my hammy doesn't feel great) and manage to miss out on a few games. If I were him, I would be smart and make sure I avoid getting injured; otherwise he is gonna lose out on a ton of money for his next contract.
  19. Good. Definitely earned it and should honestly be our #4 (unless we get someone better off waivers)
  20. Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
