Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
That contract is absolutely horrendous and the Browns have done nothing but restructured it in 2023 and 2024, taking on additional void years to weasel their way out of paying any of it so far. He has a fully guaranteed 73 million due in 2025, 73 million due in 2026, and 18 mil void year payment in 2027 and 9 mil void year payment in 2028. Even if the Browns keep the signing bonus and restructure bonus on their cap, he would still cost a team 46 million on base salary for the next 2 years. The Panthers are scheduled to have about 41 million in cap space next year, and that is without re-signing anyone. Leaving us with a 40 man roster. It would take some Mickey Loomis BS to make those numbers work and we see how deep the Saints talent pool currently is. -
Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)

That would be the perfect scenario and we would pass both. -
Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh, and I forgot to mention the good news. If we lose, we are guaranteed to move up at least one spot as the Patriots and Jaguars play each other. -
I think the biggest take away from this, regardless of who the GM is, someone needs to take a serious look at the Panthers scouting department. The GMs don't make these decisions in a bubble. These players are graded and organized according to our scouts.

Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I fell into this trap of thinking. If the team doesn't have a QB, what's the point, type thinking. Then again, I never thought we would miss this badly -
Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Could you imagine..... winning 8 games in a season....... Its been since 2017 that we have won at least 8 games. That was the year the Patriots beat the Falcons in the Superbowl..... -
Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers may actually be in a position where they can trade down in the draft and still get one of the top QBs on the board. Players like Travis Hunter and Will Johnson looking like generational talents on defense may increase the value of the top two picks in the draft. -
*This is not a tanking endorsement. Just a statement about what needs to happen this weekend to improve our current draft stock Current Draft order: 1 New England 1-5 (SOS = .454) 2 Cleveland 1-5 (SOS = .510) 3 Jacksonville 1-5 (SOS = .521) 4 Carolina 1-5 (SOS = .535) 5 LA Rams 1-4 (SOS = .500) 6 Tennessee 1-4 (SOS = .541) Games that matter to the Panthers draft position. If the bold team wins, it raises our current draft stock. Carolina @ Washington Cincinnati @ Cleveland Tennessee @ Buffalo Las Vegas @ LA Rams Kansas City @ San Francisco Baltimore @ Tampa Bay Denver @ New Orleans Seattle @ Atlanta

Panthers Tankathon (Week 6 Edition)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Tankathon is the website this information is pulled from https://www.tankathon.com/nfl As I stated earlier, if the Panthers win out the season and make the playoffs, I am going to be as drunk/happy as the next Panthers fan. However, when we lose to Atlanta this weekend, which, lets be honest, we likely will. I want people to have some respite, some solace in the fact that there may be a silver lining to our SUCKINGASS. Stop policing people on how to be a Panther fan. I a not going to sit around every Sunday and be depressed as hell when we lose again. -
If I am the Carolina Panthers GM, the first thing I am doing is making some requests of David Tepper. I want to overhaul the Scouting Department. Too many terrible drafts in the past 3 years. Spare no expense, bring in a combination of experienced scouts and new scouts who can special in using newer technologies to aid in the determination of player success in the NFL. I am requesting an overhaul to the team's medical staff and injury prevention team. This team has lost a primary starter every week of the season, including many of the best players on this team. I am not saying these things are completely preventable, but injury luck this bad can't be completely coincidence. I am requesting that Tepper seriously consider switching to a natural grass turf for game days. I am attempting to re-sign WR Diontae Johnson, RB Chuba Hubbard, C Austin Corbett, OL Brady Christensen, CB Michael Jackson, CB Troy Hill, and WR Jalen Coker prior to the trade deadline (November 5th) The following players on the final year of their contracts are going to be traded to the highest bidder prior to the trade deadline if a buyer can be found. S Xavier Woods, P Johnny Hekker, K Eddy Pineiro, TE Tommy Tremble, S Jordan Fuller, S Sam Franklin, TE Ian Thomas, and any other player on the final year of their contract who we do not have interest in re-signing prior to the trade deadline.

Panthers Tankathon (Week 6 Edition)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Look, let me be clear. I want the Panthers to win out, make the playoffs, etc. However, with that seemingly years away, at least knowing that something positive can possibly come from all these loses gives me some kind of solace and a reason to stay interested in football. It's like hedging your bet. Panthers win, that's a win. Panthers lose, at least I don't have to sink into depression. -

Panthers Tankathon (Week 6 Edition)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Rams have a bye week, or else I would def include them in. -
The Panthers are currently in line to receive the 6th pick of the draft. Current draft order: 1 New England 1-4 (SOS .434) 2 Cincinnati 1-4 (SOS .488) 3 Cleveland 1-4 (SOS .506) 4 LA Rams 1-4 (SOS .506) 5 Jacksonville 1-4 (SOS .506) 6 Carolina 1-4 (SOS .542) 7 Tennessee 1-3 (SOS.518) Due to the Panthers having the highest SOS in the league, we currently lose the tie-breaker for draft position against every other 1 win team in the league. Obviously, these are the teams we need to pull for. We also need to lower our current SOS by having teams we have played and will play against lose. Here is who you should cheer for, in week 6, in order of importance, for lowering the Panthers draft pick. There are 9 games this week that will Directly affect out draft status. The team that needs to win is in bold 1. Atlanta vs Carolina 2. Houston vs New England 3. Cleveland vs Philadelphia 4. Jacksonville vs Chicago 5. Indianapolis vs Tennessee 6. Arizona vs Green bay 7. Washington vs Baltimore 8. Pittsburgh vs Las Vegas 9. Detroit vs Dallas

Over the cap potential panthers traded
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am literally trading every player on this list of we can get a buyer. It has been time to hit the reset button for too long. We are the oldest team in the NFL and have a serious lack of young talent. Hoard draft picks and take any offer to compound those picks in the future by trading back if we can. There is a path to rebuilding this team if we can stomach a year or 2 more of mediocre play. -
Shaq Thompson torn Achilles
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to MichaelNewtonII's topic in Carolina Panthers
Given all the injuries this team has sustained this year, I feel like if there was the slightest evidence that playing on grass was safer for players, we should be switching to a grass field. -
Stop Being Insane(remaining season primer)
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Andy Dalton is obviously not the future, but will surely afford us the opportunity to be competitive, evaluate player talent, and evaluate the coaching staff. I am enjoying watching the team each week, win or lose. That being said, I am also very interested to see how this team operates knowing that Bryce Young has set us back a number of years. We are likely not going to be competing for the division for, bare minimum, 2 seasons. Dan Morgan really needs to be future focused. Players on the final year of their contracts need to be properly evaluated and either extended or traded off for future draft capital. We need to be getting something positive from these players. We can't count on compensatory draft picks, because we bring in to many FAs in the off-season. -
NO!! WE HAVE OFFICIALLY LOST OUR TANK COMMANDER!

Pacheco to IR, chance to load assets
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to MichaelNewtonII's topic in Carolina Panthers
100% If we could get any value from Sanders, make the trade yesterday. We have 15 players on the final year of their contracts. If we can move any of them for draft capital, we should be. This team should be focused on building for the future. -
So… will it be Dalton or Plummer?
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, put in another QB so we can evaluate Canales.
