This team earned the number 2 pick last year, got a retread coach, lost the starting QB before half, and is beating the breaks off us. We can’t get any worse than the last few year stretch we have had
-
Who even cares at this point. All of our draft picks suck. We can’t hit on an impact player if our lives depended on it

So what are you all doing with the rest of your day?
WarPanthers89 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s sad how many resources we have given up to find a QB and we let two slip away for nothing simply because we are a dumpster fire franchise -
Shocker…..someone who once started for our team can’t even make it on another teams practice squad.

We are the new Browns. They are locked into a horrible QB contract, but we will be in QB hell the samE amount of time they will be so what’s the point of comparing?

How Many Games Before Dalton Loses a Start?
WarPanthers89 replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Could be as soon as this week but I don’t care either way. My expectations for this team is as low as it can go. I’m just happy we can gain a first down now and will enjoy the remainder of the season with Dalton no matter the results -

Building a winning culture is far more important than hoping for a high draft pick. We get the first overall pick again as we may not have any free agents who want to come here. Look at previous drafts, many stars are drafted all throughout the 1st round. We have missed on our top pick

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

What will it take to Bench Bryce?
WarPanthers89 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
You have to be an alpha in the NFL especially at QB. He does not have any trait that will ever make him successful in this league and will never be a QB that can get a team to exceed expectations. -
Panthers running back Miles Sanders injured his finger in Wednesday’s practice when he hit it on a helmet. Sanders had his finger wrapped afterward and was headed to get it examined but expects to be ready for the season opener, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports. “Sucks this happened before Week 1,” he said. Coach Dave Canales also said he expects Sanders to play. Chuba Hubbard beat out Sanders for the job early last season, but both backs will have roles at least until rookie Jonathon Brooks returns. Brooks tore an ACL in November while at the University of Texas. Sanders had 156 touches for 586 yards and a touchdown last season, his first with the Panthers. Tight ends Tommy Tremble (hamstring/back) and Ian Thomas (calf) did not practice Wednesday, prompting the Panthers to sign tight end Messiah Swinson off the Packers’ practice squad. Backup tackle Yosh Nijman (tibia) was limited. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/panthers-rb-miles-sanders-injured-a-finger-at-wednesdays-practice

Article: Panthers head coach Dave Canales said this summer that the team hoped to have rookie running back Jonathon Brooks in the lineup around Week Three or Four, but it will be a little later than that. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Panthers will leave Brooks on the non-football injury list for the start of the regular season. That will remove him from the active roster and will leave him ineligible to play in the first four games of the regular season. Brooks tore his ACL during his final season at Texas, but the Panthers still selected him in the second round in April. Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard, Mike Boone, Raheem Blackshear, and Jaden Shirden are the other backs on the roster in Carolina ahead of their final cuts. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/panthers-will-keep-jonathon-brooks-on-nfi-list

Article: A franchise legend seems to have taken a youngster under his wing…or cape. Carolina Panthers great Steve Smith Sr. was a guest on Monday’s episode of The Clubhouse with Kyle Bailey. The team’s all-time leading receiver was asked about Jonathan Mingo and his hot start to this year’s training camp. “I don’t need to watch film on Jonathan Mingo the way y’all watchin’ it,” Smith Sr. told host Kyle Bailey. “Me and Jonathan put some work in this offseason. So he was gettin’ some work in with me seven o’clock in the morning, outside at the end of the week after he was already workin’. We were doin’ a lot of work together. “So this is not high on the guy. This is Steve Smith and Jonathan Mingo are adjoined to the hip. He calls me, I call him. When I see something or he has a question, there’s an open line of communications. This Batman and Robin talkin’, and tryin’ to figure out how can we corral Joker—which is the corners he’ll be goin’ against this year.” While this reveal may have been somewhat surprising, Smith’s affinity for Mingo certainly isn’t. When Mingo was drafted by the Panthers last spring, owner David Tepper told the then 22-year-old that he was heavily endorsed by No. 89 . . . Hopefully, the work pays off for Smith Sr. and Mingo—because sometimes, people deserve to have their faith rewarded. www.pantherswire.usatoday.com

Panthers S Sam Franklin out with a broken foot

The Panthers suffered a blow to their defense and special teams over the weekend. Head coach Dave Canales told reporters at a Monday press conference that safety Sam Franklin broke his foot during Saturday’s practice. Franklin is expected to be able to return at some point during the season, but the team will be without him for an extended period of time. “You can’t replace Sam Franklin. But this is a good opportunity for guys to step up,” Canales said, via Kassidy Hill of the team’s website. Franklin has been with the Panthers for the last four years and has been a core special teamer while also making nine starts on defense. He had 30 tackles and a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown last season. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/panthers-s-sam-franklin-out-with-a-broken-foot

Lol a rookie going against a top talented CB on his third day of camp? My timbers are shivered

This boards history is just like the Panthers history….a couple exciting moments which ultimately lead to disappointment, but mostly just a long term poo show that I stay obsessed with for some god forsaken reason.

Stephon Gilmore and the Panthers appeared close to reuniting after the draft, but almost three months have passed since then, and the cornerback remains a free agent. “There are still some good corners and safeties out there like Justin Simmons and myself that are still not signed,” Gilmore told Josina Anderson. “Honestly, I’m still being patient and staying ready until teams see what they have in training camp. But you mean to tell me among 32 teams that there are 64 starting corners that are better than me? I don’t think that. If teams want to win, I think they should sign the best players. I know I’m still a starter in this league. I started games last year, but the season doesn’t start until September, so we’ve got a while.” Teams are being patient, too, and could be waiting until after Week 1 when vested veterans’ contracts no longer are fully guaranteed, though an injury to a starting corner could speed up the timeline for a team. Gilmore, 33, is one of the few remaining free agents from PFT’s top 100. The five-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro and one time defensive player of the year has played for the Bills, Patriots, Panthers, Colts and Cowboys. He has 31 interceptions and 140 passes defensed in his career. Gilmore started all 17 games for the Cowboys last season. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/stephon-gilmore-on-still-being-a-free-agent-there-arent-64-cbs-better-than-me
