  1. Just signed (unofficial) an Edge rusher, 99% sure we stay away from that position in the first round now even if Faulk falls.
  2. I'd trade them Dalton for Levis straight up.
  3. So we can scrap a 1st round Edge guy. I had my doubts about it anyway. Looking like a LT at #19 now.
  4. What could go wrong with two chronically injured QBs?
  5. I steer clear of it altogether. It's even more tribal now-a-days. You can generally tell a person's, let's call it 'persuasion' by which one they use.
  6. Being worried about Geno Smith stealing your job, lol. I thought being mentally tough was Bryce's strength? Sounds pretty weak to me.
  7. Did you see how much dead cap they have to eat? They have to burn it down, there's really no alternative.
  8. Please take note both Kyler and Tua were in the same place where Bryce is now when they got their extensions. Both were high first round QBs that had flashed some, but hadn't put it all together before being offered that second contract. The Dolphins and Cardinals will be eating a sh!t ton of dead cap just to move on from their respective 'franchise QB.' Also note, both teams were leery of the extension, but did it anyway because each team thought the QB simply needed more time to put it all together despite their reservations. In each case it backfired spectacularly.
  9. Odd we bring in competition for the backup, instead of an open competition considering outside of the Carolina ecosystem, most people would hardly call Bryce a franchise QB. You don't bring in competition for a franchise QBs. You do bring in competition for QBs that are not tier 1 guys. We have seem this play out before in 2003 and, by golly, the competition didn't even have to wait a full game to take over.
  10. Trey Lance still gets my vote. The problem being not only would that be competition for Dalton, but could potentially be competition for Bryce and you know we can't have any of that.
  11. Really like this guy as a slot WR. Him and the Iowa guy Wetjen.
  12. Proctor will get eaten alive by speed rushers. If you think Ickey was prone to get beat by speed demons on the edge, well a 360 pound dude ain't your answer.
  13. We have a comedian here folks.
  14. Yup, I keep using Kyler as a comp for a reason. Don't be stupid Dan.
  15. Styles had 100 tackles a year ago. His production was a little less the past year, but OSUs defense is so darn good that they are not on the field a lot. There are a couple of LBs the have high tackle totals on good defenses, but generally, not only do LBs that rack up tackles have to individually good, but typically are on bad defenses. Look at the Pack's Caden Fordam, he's an average/above average LB, but was #2 nationally in tackles. Why? State's defense was bad--couldn't get off the field and RBs routinely got to the second level, thus a ton of tackles.
  16. Sure it does, maybe not every position and not every draft. You have to admit the hit rate goes down the further in the draft you get. Would you more readily find a generational talent at the #2 pick or #19 pick? High picks are considered "busts" if they doesn't pan out, whereas guys drafted later don't have that level of scrutiny upon them. Different expectation levels. If Styles does indeed go #2, I already listed the rarefied air that he would be in. Maybe he doesn't set the League on fire, but my gut feeling is he does. Again, you don't take an off-ball LB #2 if he is just a 'really good' player.
  17. Scuttlebutt form the Combine around the Web suggests Styles just overtook Reese and may go #2 to the Jets. Pure off-ball LB going #2 overall? Seems kinda generational to me. Some see Reese as an Edge, so he kinda made sense being so high. If Styles goes #2, the only other LBs drafted that high since 2000 are Von Miller and Lavar Arrington and both of those guys were generational talents.
  18. Rich Eisen said he's never in his 22-years at the Combine seen a prospect like Sonny Styles. Also Bailey ran a 4.5 flat. So my early two draft crushes are crushing the Combine and are now completely out of the Panthers reach. Bailey might be a top 5 pick now. Styles won't drop past the top 10.
  19. "Making" the playoffs. It felt more like a participation trophy. If the NFL went away from the stupid division winners automatic bid and went strictly by best records (like most sports), the Panthers wouldn't have sniffed the playoffs in that scenario.
  20. Styles. If he lasts until Tampa and they take him, I will be livid.
