  1. There will be a few more reds next year.
  2. Why yes, this team is quite pathetic. April will be here before you know it.
  3. We should abolish RAS as part of evaluation. It has crippled this team. Great athletes, but mediocre-to-bad football players.
  4. That's our Panthers!!! Who was the "big get " still on the board that we all went ballistic over when Panthers selected DJ? Do you remember? I recall being hopeful is was player 'x' and they announces DJ Johnson and I melted down...as did several of us.
  5. LO-fugg'n-L!!!!! "This one is kinda on Bryce---he throws it in defender's facemask" How is that KINDA on Bryce? I stopped watching it right there. I knew the guy wasn't going to be completely objective with Bryce.
  6. McShay says he feels better about Mendoza in the ugly win versus Iowa than when Indiana is blowing out opponents. Iowa dialed up many zero blitzes and got home a few times. One caused his pick where he rushed the pass with a LB barrelling down in his face. To his credit, with the game on the line, Iowa dialed up another zero blitz and Mendoza beat it on a slant route for the winning TD. McShay also likes his toughness as a runner. He's not a gifted runner, but effective enough and doesn't shy away from contact especially when trying to get to the sicks. Tough, accurate and not mentally fragile. Until this dude (if) this guy lays an egg, this is my guy for the draft. He survived a physical Iowa defense on the road whose game plan was to rough him up. After being harassed and pummeled all game, dude marches his team down the field for the game winning TD. It would be a breath of fresh air to have a QB overcome an ugly game to notch a win around here.
  7. Yep, I did go out of my way to say at best. If Bryce is having one of his 3-ish good games a season, he can hit that 12 yard pass.
  8. "But Bryce was turnover free!" Yeah, at best, a game manager. AT BEST...
  9. Oh, I am well aware. That's why him having Mendoza at #5 and not #1 is a sigh of relief. Going back to Mateer, Brady Quinn put him on Mel's radar, so it's not exactly the kiss of death he's ranked so high.
  10. Lol, a #1 overall QB backing up another high first rounder? We would be the laughing stock of the NFL. I mean, even more so than now. If we are even thinking of a first round QB next April, Bryce has to be gone. Dalton, not so much, especially if Canales is retained. He already knows the system.
  11. I disagree. The 2024 draft was a once a generation draft, so it's a clear and obvious outlier. It's going to be a typical 3-4 first round QB draft. Mateer, Mendoza, Nussmeir and Moore (if declares) all have hallmarks of a QB1. The only group that needs a QB to help their evaluation is WRs, possibly TEs. I can tell you right now that Tet is legit, XL is a bum, Coker is a WR3/WR4 and Renfro is a bandage. Horn isn't getting the snaps regardless of the QB to evaluate. Moore, well...lol. Swapping QBs isn't going to change my mind on any of that.
  12. Here's Mel's take. It scares me I agree with him on Mateer, but the rest of it is vintage Mel where he's on the hype train with these guys. I'm comforted that he has Mendoza #5.
  13. Woof. That would suck, but knowing the Panthers, isn't out of the question.
  14. If Tepper doesn't give the green light to bench Young, then they can point to the fact they are saddled with a QB that doesn't give them a chance to win consistently. This is ALL Tepper's making. He knows it and why I think no matter how bad it gets, Morgan and Canales gets to start '26, most certainly without Bryce Young. Then if the suckitude continues, heads will roll.
  15. Reich got so screwed over. Brand new staff and a rookie Bryce Young, yet got the shortest leash.
  16. There's the catch-22. We win a few meaningless games and end up in that 7-10 draft slot purgatory we seem to always be in. Yes, we get a good player, but just miss out on the elite ones. I know the staff is coaching for their jobs, but it seems to be a vicious cycle that keeps us where we are today.
  17. Safest bets as of now are: 1) Mateer, 2a)Mendoza 2b) Moore 3) Nussmeir 4) Leavitt I am leery as heck about Allar, Sellers, Beck and Klubnik.
  18. No, it's based on projection at the next level. Sellers definitely has the highest ceiling, but he also has one of the lowest floors.
  19. Got it. Unless Dalton gets injured again, I really don't see them making a move. It's Bryce and Dalton. Morgan will make it this year, I think Canales will too. Both will likely get to start the '26 season before the plug gets pulled. Tepper loves his in-season firings, but I think this year is too soon from Dave's perspective namely because he hand picked both of these guys. Even by his impatient nature, it would look hasty as heck to pull the plug on HIS guys in under two seasons.
  20. You could always sit the rookie a portion of the season or all of it. The Giants sat Dart a quarter of the season, the Chiefs sat Mahommes for a while. Just getting a vet doesn't preclude you from draft a rookie QB. Actually, it's the smart way to go. At #1 overall, it's tough not to roll the dude out there game 1. Outside of the top 5? You have reason to justify not throwing the rookie to the wolves.
  21. Tankaton's updated projections: Moore is #29 under the banner.
  22. Nope. Draft a 2026 QB in the top 10.
  23. 99% of fans? No. Media types with agendas? Absolutely.
  24. It would have been more accurate if you left out Dalton's drive. Also, I doubt Bryce could have done anything on that final drive, he was rattled.
  25. Except score. Those stats also includes Dalton's drive where he went straight down the field and scored. Oddly enough, with the same banged up OL and same thin WR corps that people are using as an excuse for Bryce's struggles. Dalton got 39% of Young's passing yards in one drive.
