I think if Jeanty makes it to #8, we won't have a hard time finding a trade partner.

Your cat has a nice set up.

This draft is so bad at QB, that guys I wanted as a Day 3 flyer pick a couple of months ago will be 2nd and 3rd rounders tomorrow. Day 3 guys now were UDFAs a couple of months ago. HARD PASS.

Tony Pauline: Patriots taking LB Jalon Walker @4
45catfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't understand the smoke with the Pats and Jags, #1-#3 is cemented, they can have pretty much who they want. Nobody is moving inside the top 10 this year. Senseless scuttlebutt by media types for clicks. The Pats a taking an OT to protect their QB. The Jags need help everywhere, so it might be Graham or it may be offense. -
I like the EDGE guys in a trade back.. I like all the safety prospects across the spectrum. If we can land Swesinger in the 2nd, that would be awesome...him or Noel.

Kiper was there forever doing draft stuff for ESPN and let's say his record as a draft guru was spotty at best.
-
McShay says Shedeur would be QB6/QB7 in last year's draft and while there is a lingering whispers about Sanders to the Giants at #3 that just won't go away, chances are he drops all the way to the 2nd round...past the Saints and even past the Steelers at #21. Dart might even end up QB2 by the time it's all said and done.

If anything, Jeanty's stock is heating up. That's making Hampton's value increase as RB2. Pretty big drop off from RB2 to RB3.

Most mocks have Warren going to the Colts at #14. Where someone is drafted and where they are ranked on a Big Board can be, and often are, not the same. Here is Klatt's opinion on this with the Colts pick. Something I was saying to another poster earlier this morning and then I just ran across this video a short time ago.
-
I just watched Klatt's mock and Greeny's mock featuring Kiper & Yates on YouTube. The Jags are now very questionable to take Graham (who has been routinely been mocked to them) which could change the trajectory of the draft. Jeanty has picked up steam, but the sentiment now is offense no matter what. Both videos suggested we still are going Walker or Williams--Williams if Walker is off the board, BUT Yates said don't be shocked to see us take an OT with Icky and Moton in contract years in 2026--assuming we pick up the 5th year option.

There's not much of a separation between the two, true, but both are solidly first rounders. In the second round we would be looking at TE3 at best and even that's a stretch since we are picking 25th with the Rams original draft spot. TE4 is Fannin Jr. and his game is very similar to a guy we already have in Sanders. Yes, Fannin Jr.'s numbers were insane, but he ran up the numbers playing some really, REALLY bad teams in the MAC as Bowling Green's #1 receiving target. Needless to say, he wouldn't have gotten those type of numbers playing in the SEC or Big 10 and NFL defenders are better than guys he played in the MAC.

The Bears are going offense. The only thing that could make the Cowboys jump is if Jeanty goes to the Raiders at #6 and rumors start to float about the Bears taking Hampton. I heard while the Cowboys would love to land Jeanty, they aren't moving up for him and obviously don't expect him to fall to #12, so their target is Hampton.
-
If Graham gets past the Jags at #5, the chances of us getting him at #8 goes ups dramatically. I'm still convinced the Raiders are going for an impact skilled player. Jets are going offense, almost certain of it.
-
Yup, but people were pissed when we won that last game with the Falcons. We'd be sitting at #6 had we lost basically looking at he same options as #8. That's unless Walker does go at pick four or five. Still, it's a pretty weak draft at the top overall.
-
Walker to the Pats is a crazy scenario. With a 2nd year QB, how do you not give him more weapons or protection when it is lacking?
-
If it looks to be going that way, the Browns may pull a Panthers move and trade back up into the first round by a spot, two or three just so they can get that 5th year option.
-
They are resetting this year and taking a QB next year in the 2026 draft. Why would you do a reset and draft rookie QB in the top 10 that you aren't completely sold on? They are going to take a piece to build on this draft, get their cap in better shape and hope to get a MUCH better QB prospect next April. Spencer Rattler will serve as the tank commander.

Chicago will not trade up for a Jeanty. Thinking a team will trade up to the top 5 for a RB with the idea of finding trading partner for your current RB1 is a LONG shot proposition for the Jags (I have heard the same rumblings about this scenario). I honestly think they are putting out smoke just hoping to move back. At #5 there should be more value and this draft is very thin with elite talent at the top. Again, they are simply trying to fabricate a scenario to move back and get more value.
