  1. I think the tweet I saw saying they were starting also said Reich wouldn't say with side they were playing. It's tough. Zavala looked amazing at RG, so I understand the continuity, but it would probably be worth it to go ahead and put Zavala back next to Ickey and Mays at RG to hold it down until Corbett comes back.
  2. This receiving corps is not nearly as bad as people are framing it to be. What I saw most of the game week 1, as well as the preseason was a lot of shitty, lazy concepts too. I thought we were gonna get a lot of motion and creativity to free guys up off route combos versus route running, and nope... it looked like a lot of the same poo we had under Rhule. Now, this isn't Smitty, Olsen, Shockey, but it's not the burning trash heap that people are trying to make it out to be. There were a lot of plays to be had even with the shitty play design and calling, and Bryce still didn't hit the right guys enough. Period.
  3. Agreed. I felt the same way about Herbert and wasn't sure about Allen either. But I've never had trouble eating crow when I'm wrong. UT for many people, pride is the devil. Everyone knows what my stance has been on Bryce, but I really want to be wrong about it for the sake of our success as a franchise. And I won't have any trouble eating my crow if and when that time comes, and I hope it does.
  4. That's the part a lot of people keep overlooking. JT no doubt knows how to break film down and analyze what he's looking at, but that doesn't mean what he shares is impartial, bc it definitely is. I've watched several of his videos over the years and the way he spins a mistake for one guy, versus skewering another for the same thing is obvious. He likes Bryce. It's why I have a hard time digesting him still praising him for anticipation from week 1 when a ton of his throws were late. He does it in one of the early throws to Hurst across the middle in this breakdown - it was late, behind him, and inaccurate, and iirc, between two defenders, and JT says something like it was a good decision, just a tad behind him and a little late. Well, then how does that make it a good throw? Nothing about that was a good throw. Now, again, I'm not saying all this to trash Bryce or say he's a bust bc I'm not. But what I am saying is, a lot of the stuff JT was praising him for in week 1 was not legitimate, it's really bc he likes him and wants him to succeed. He might be qualified and a professional at what he does, but that doesn't mean he isn't biased. Front office guys are professionals and they make mistakes all of the time based off of biases and preferences. People saw for years that healthy Cam was revolutionizing the game and the only thing that could stop him was himself or injury in his prime, and yet, there were countless ex-players and pundits that went out of their way his entire career to trash him and criticize him for how he played. Just saying... these experts aren't always looking through clear, objective lenses.
  5. It really bothered me last year how PS2 and Sauce were getting all of the love and the "future lockdown" hype after the season, knowing that when he was healthy, which was the majority of last season, Jaycee arguably played better than both of them. Both of those guys deserve love too. All super talented and rightfully recognized, but Jaycee is just as good - he just can't stay healthy. And that sucks for him and us. I've held onto hope that he would get through this freak injury stuff and would get the attention and accolades he deserves for his play, but man, this injury really even made me finally question if that's possible. At this point, if I'm the brass, I still move forward with him in the plans for the future, but you also have to do that and understand you can't depend on him actually being a part of those plans, if that makes any sense. Sucks.
  6. Said it in the previous thread last week about shotty officiating, but they literally make up the rules as they go. This won't affect the teams they don't want it to.
  7. I've responded in kind to further clarify my position so there's no confusion. Last i checked, that's what message boards are for - to engage in dialogue. I'm not losing sleep over it.
  8. Unlike most people, I really don't give a poo what strangers on the internet think of me or my opinion. So unless the definition of trolling has changed, you're barking up the wrong tree.
  9. I didnt realize he still stayed in the area, and definitely didn't know his son was playing at GT. I'll have to check him out. But I loved me some Mad Max growing up. He was so underrated... but man, if you've never seen his poo talk to Jazz fans, you have to check it out. It's hilarious.
  10. I can always count on my man 4C... always with the Vernon Maxwell-elite-level roasts.
  11. It could be, but none would be as emotionally invested as he, himself. And I say it's highly likely that it's him because if you follow the other sports, particularly the NBA, this happens all of the time. Multiple players have been caught with burner accounts, and even a ref. At the end of the day, they're human beings with feelings too... and I am beginning to notice a correlation between guys with injuries and the subsequent free time tending to fall into this stuff more. It happens.
  12. Like I said, not a good look, but also doesn't really matter... unlike the NBA where they care about their image and investigate this kind of stuff, the NFL doesn't give a poo lol. If the acct got suspended, this is probably where this story ends. But odds are very, very, very high it's him, and while I understand his frustration with his situation, you're bigger than that, bro.
  13. No i didn't watch all of it, but I did watch most of it. I heard JT compliment some of what he did as it went on, talked about coming off reada and looking off coverage, but I also feel like he was trying to find positives in a lot of routine things. I agree with your overall sentiment about the jury still being out, but it's hard to overlook the 2 picks and being mostly the reason we lost to an unimpressive defense when his peers looked better.
  14. Appreciate your measured, non-emotional take, brother. That's all fair. Still hoping for the best.
  15. I think the field stretching element is oversold. If the guy pulling the trigger is hesitant to make those throws consistently in the first place, and the staff scheming up the gameplan thinks they can dink and dunk teams to death 99% of the time, teams aren't going to respect speed anyway. And again, tbh, guys whose range maxes out at 45-50 yards tend to have smaller windows to get that ball off deep anyway, especially if that's not their first read, and to this point, Bryce has not shown great touch or accuracy on the deep throws he's attempted. Hope it's just getting adjusted, but from the coaching to the execution in week 1, against what I thought was a a not-great defense, I'm just concerned moving forward.
  16. I haven't wrote him off. I just said I didn't see anything encouraging because we spent a #1 pick on a guy touted for certain traits that were supposed to lend themselves to him not making "rookie mistakes." And yet, he made more of those mistakes than the other starting QBs in his draft class, taken after him. His advertised strengths were some of his most glaring weaknesses. That is not encouraging. Period. Sorry I'm not drinking the kool-aid. I want him to succeed, but that was not what a #1 pick should be playing like, when again, guys at the same position from his class outperformed him in week 1. And not by a little. Hoping for the best, but early returns were not good, and people here want to get in their feelings because I refuse to gloss over the fact a #1 pick should be a gamechanger and instead, he looked like just another cog in the wheel... and not only did he not make game-winning plays, but he is mostly the reason we lost because of the turnovers.
  17. Because I have an opinion? Big fan of authoritarian dictatorships heavy on homogeneous groupthink with a side of censorship are we?
  18. Haven't finished it yet, but hard to get through it. I don't see anything encouraging. Staring receivers down, misplaced/bad throws, suddenly little to no feel for anticipation, bad decisions, etc. The sunshine and rainbows brigade keep wanting to cite it being his first game - outside of a couple of secondary players and maybe Grady Jarrett, the Falcons defense is ASS and Bryce looked horrible. And again, outside of the injury AR looked better. I think Stroud played better. And we saw Cam dominate and take the league by storm from his first game on. First game isn't an excuse, especially for a #1 overall pick. You draft a guy #1 because they should step on the field and change the game in your favor from the first snap... It's just very discouraging that every facet of his game that our staff felt made him the #1 overall pick over the other options are all areas he looked mediocre in for most of the game Sunday.
  19. *replays his PI against Cleveland last season in my mind's projector like a war vet thinking back to battle* ... Yeeeeeeah, nope.
