I just don’t agree. A young capable QB would be killing with this supporting cast. Bryce fugs up the entire offense. Every play is a stacked box, secondary cheating underneath and jumping everything because they know his chances of beating them with a pass over the top is lottery level odds.

I see enough good from XL that I’m withholding judgment. TBH, the same excuse applies for him that applies for Tet and the others. If you have a QB who is constantly misplacing the ball in shitty spots, as a receiver, you start playing different. If you run a route and look back for the ball in anticipation, and you’re used to it being in a shitty spot from your shitty QB, but THIS time it’s placed better, now you’re not prepared for it. know it sounds stupid, but it’s the truth. Most of the throws on game day are dropped because they’re looking for a better ball and it’s not thrown well. But there are times, like the play you posted, where the placement is better than they anticipate, and it throws them off. And I emphasize placed “better” because that’s still not a great pass. The thing with Bryce is, as I mentioned in another thread where our conversation turned to Jake in his heyday, is in comparison to other QBs, Bryce just doesn’t give his receivers a chance to make a play. At all. So until we get a QB who consistently can, I’m not evaluating any of these guys. If we had a real QB, Tet would be putting up Prime Mike Evans numbers right now.

The thing that really sticks me with Canales is, if you’ve worked your whole life to reach the pinnacle of the coaching profession, and you finally get the opportunity to become one of only 32 people in the world doing it… and you decide to commit so hard to this fuging bum who will not only get you fired if you stick with him, but will likely tank your chances of ever getting the opportunity to do it again. That’s why it HAS to be Tepper’s call. IT ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE. Everyone, coach or not, has a threshold and a survival instinct attached to it - and the thought that DC hasn’t reached that point yet with the reputation he has as a QB whisperer while the guy he keeps trotting out there ha solidified himself as the worst starting QB in league history? And again, that’s in the face of know DC needs and prefers guys with the physical tools to sling the football. It just makes no fuging sense. And it pisses me off even more with Tepper because you see all this and you’re still forcing him to play Bryce?????? Sadly, I’ve talked with a lot of my fellow alumni and Heel fans, and I’ve said, sadly, UNC is in the same exact position with Gio as the Panthers are with Bryce. And the way the situations mirror each other are EERIE. I’ve said here repeatedly how whoever Bryce’s personal team is that conned an NFL front office into taking him as a first round pick, let alone the #1 overall pick, deserve to retire off whatever money he’s made due to their efforts. This poo would make Chauncey Billups’ crime bosses blush.. Same for Gio. Whoever he has around him, representing him, that convinced a power 4 school to pay this MF MILLIONS of dollars at the college level coming from Southwest Alabama Technical Basket Weaving School for the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind University, just to come make the whole rest of the UNC squad look like absolute poo is a fuging amazing sell. I’m talking Tai Lopez level scam poo. And for both to con their way to their position at their respective levels of competition, only to get there and be so clearly the worst piece on their team while simultaneously play the most important position on the field - I’ve never seen anything like it. And what’s worse, in both cases, the organization chooses to keep putting them out there in large part because of ego and investment made. And all they keep doing is making the rest of the team look fuging atrocious. They both literally hold the entire team back by their presence alone. And as an aside, Lopez may have the slowest fuging release I have ever witnessed in my life. In talking slower and longer than fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol.

That’s why I love Jake and always will. He was so fuging gritty and definitely was a gunslinger. Like a not-quite-poor-man’s Brett Favre. Like an economy version lol. He was damn good. Yeah, he’d throw a pick here or there, but more often than not, I trusted Jake. He’d make some throws that really made you think, “damn, he’s even better than I thought.” I loved that he loved to gamble, but more importantly, he gave his guys a fuging chance to make a play. When people have been criticizing Tet for drops, it pisses me off, because they say it like these are some gimmes that he’s dropping. but, at about 6’5”, if your whole body is moving one way and you have to stop or slow down to come back to a ball thrown behind you, or low, that poo is not easy. Bryce isn’t really giving him a chance, and I can see why he’s dropping them. Versus if you look at this highlight reel of Moose: at about halfway through is when Jake stepped in. The passes he was throwing are CRAZY. There’s multiple passes in there where he is throwing across his body while running the opposite way - and he still had the strength to get it on target. Then there’s the throws where he lasers it in a spot only the receiver could get it - seam routes, out routes, over the top. The longer you watch, the more obvious it is that so many of these (what should be basic) throws are completely absent from our offense with Bryce. There was a play today where he started to scramble, kept looking, looking, looking, then just threw it into the ground near the receiver. Let them make a fuging play. His best pass of the day? The long one to Tet? If you re-watch it. About 10-15 yards further downfield, XL smoked his man on a post route. You get maybe 3 chances at that a game usually, and when you don’t even attempt it when it’s there? That poo is so demoralizing. I can’t wait for Bryce’s time here to be fuging over. If they cut him tomorrow I would feel free. I would feel like I just won the fuging powerball. If they signed Heineke, Perkins, White, PJ Walker, or Hooker to start the rest of the year, I would be fuging ecstatic like we just trotted Cam out for the first time. That how fuging life-sucking Bryce is as the QB.

No, because we don’t need a “top QB prospect” for us to seriously upgrade the QB position here. Again, Joe Milton, Shedeur, Shough, Dart, Jameis, Flacco, Huntley, etc., all of those options were available for CHEAP this offseason. They could’ve been had without giving up a player. It was that fuging easy.

XL and every WR not named Tet has English Premiere League conditioning at this point. Fitness level unmatched.

Imagine you thinking the opposing QB is so fuging horrible that you feel comfortable going for it on 4th down every opportunity because you know they can’t move the ball. If there hasn’t been a bigger slap to the face giving you your fuging sign… I just don’t fuging get it.
