  1. If Pete was still HC I'd say this is a great move for him. Not so sure with the new staff.
  2. Imagine if we had not done the trade, and we instead decided to start Matt Corral last season. And let's say he hypothetically has the same supporting cast, and performed exactly the same as Bryce. In that scenario, there is no way we aren't taking a QB with the #1 overall pick. The only reason that Bryce is getting year 2 is because that's the only real option. He isn't replaceable until at least the next draft.
  3. Granted he could fall off a cliff in the blink of an eye at 37, but he put up a 80 grade on PFF overall last year. He's a monster of a man and for the right deal I'd love to have him on our team to finish his career.
  4. I'll take one 37 year old Calais Campbell please.
  5. Drafting 2 WRs in this draft and missing on both would be the most Panthers thing ever.
  6. I don’t blame him and I know he’s not the only one that has felt that way. I’m just not sure why he said anything about it publicly.
  7. For what its worth, his PFF grade is basically identical to Burns last year.
  8. Fingerprints of a Hurney draft all over it.
  9. Noooo don’t sign Chase Young! We already have DJ Johnson. We’re good!
  10. Mediocre offense? I didn't know you were an optimist.
  11. I'm wondering if Icky is as bad of a fit for the scheme as Bozeman was. There's no room for him to start at guard, and it sounds like BC is moving to the left tackle spot.
  12. I mean if he made that deal he's not making the picks. Wasn't it this year and next year's draft for the 1sts? So in a weird way, it kind of proves Scott right for not taking the deal. He didn't survive long enough even with keeping Brian Burns on the roster. If he dumped him for picks we certainly aren't doing any better last year.
  13. If anyone can get next year's defense from 32nd to 22nd its Evero though.
  14. The 2nd part is honestly the most concerning thing. Pretty much all GMs have a bias for the present, but how much more are we discounting the future because Tepper is impatient?
  15. If he doesn't turn it around, we're getting more value out of him as a tank commander than a 6th round pick. A competent backup could easily mess that up.
  16. Given the situation, I agree with the approach though. Invest in the offense to see if you have anything at QB. And if you don't, you have a much better situation for the next QB to walk into. It's kind of worthless to spend money on defense in today's game if you don't have a functional offense as a prerequisite. I mean what are your options? 1. Extend Burns, Luvu, Chinn etc and run it back next year. 2. Panic bandaid the QB position with someone like Kirk Cousins or Justin Fields. 3. Do what they did.
  17. If they actually roll into the season with Sam Darnold lmao
  18. The fact that everyone hates this makes me think it might be good. Maybe the compensation wasn’t enough, but the real win is avoiding giving a corner stone contract to a player that’s not worth it.
  19. And if not Bryce, any young QB is gonna benefit from a safety valve
  20. I just hope he's good and stays healthy. If thats the case, its okay he cost a lot.
