I agree. I think it's fine to not necessarily like a player but still recognize they were really good. CMC is one of the most talented Panthers ever, regardless of what any fans think of him. It's similar to Cam. There's people who always hated Cam. But it doesn't change the fact he's the best QB we ever had. I just think it's kind of a shame because CMC will likely be in the HOF, and probably remembered more as a 49er. It's like how many people remember Marshall Faulk as a Colt?

We should have arguably gotten more for him, but by the time we're good again he'll be washed. Best case he'll be a 3rd down back specialist sorta guy by then.

I don't care as long as whoever is playing is good. He can put mayonnaise on his steak, or dress up like different cartoon characters to show up to games. Just show up on the field on game day. Players will respect that too.

There's just no reason to take any other position. Why would they want it to get out even if they wanted to deal him? You tank his value by signaling that you don't want him. Bottom line is he has way more upside than any pick we are likely to get in return for him. The team would be dumb not to see that out, unless they're offered a good 1st.

If he can stay on the field this year and balls out, I'm fine with the team committing to him with an extension. We just need to see it first.

Nothing in his history suggests he can play a full season. That's the issue.
