Manziel did not watch film, read his playbook, or read a defense. He was a pure backyard football style player. He had talent but did nothing to develop his skills. Wilson has been watching film since he was in the ninth or tenth grade. He supposedly is studious and by watching his play, he does read the defense well. I just do not get the Manziel comparison at all, or Clausen for that matter. Help me understand what you are talking about.

Lance is a Cam-light clone. The same issues that plagued Cam exist in Lance. Personally, I would like for the Panthers to consider him if he had played against top level competition and still played a similar style to Cam. I just do not want to see the accuracy issues, run first mentality, while sacrificing his body like the Panthers had when Cam was here.

May take three firsts, a current player and maybe a second to get Watson. To put this into perspective, would you trade away players that could become three pro-bowlers and a good role player for their one QB? So, that is a Luke, Ryan Khalil, Christian McCaffery and Shaq Thompson for Deshaun Watson. As much as I would like Watson here, I do not believe that I would make this deal.

It is amazing that a QB can change a team in one year. Tampa sucks in 2019 and one game from a SB in 2020. The main thing that has changed is TB.

I don’t understand the idea of getting a 33-year-old quarterback who is probably looking at the backside of his career. This reminds me of going to get Teddy Bridgewater when all we need to do was find a quarterback we can build a franchise around. This just seems like a Band-Aid and what we really need is a skin graft. Draft a rookie QB and prep him for his career behind Teddy B. for half or all season.

I agree and I see Lance as a raw, untested and unrefined version of Cam Newton. The negatives are similar to what Newton’s were while in Carolina. The difference was that Cam showed to be able to play at a high level, but just not sure that Lance could do the same. When a team drafts a QB high in the first round the expectation is that they could start anytime in their first year and play at a level that justifies the selection. I think that Wilson would be that type of person. With Lance I believe that there would need to be a period of development before that evaluation is made. Just my 0.02
