  1. I personally think we sit there at #8 and if the QB / standout A.N. Other prospect we think is worth the #8 overall pick isn't there we trade down. That could mean trading down with a Fields / Wilson / Lance on the board.
  2. Just how much have you watched Mac Jones play? I feel like the people that HAVEN'T watched him play look at the talent around him and assume that everyone is wide open and he has all day to throw the ball. That's absolutely not the case. I'd actually attribute half of his success to Sarkisian (and the army of analysts that support him) - their game planning on offence was ridiculous. Just look at the National Championship game - how the fug do you have a MLB covering the #1 WR? The other half of his success? A combination of the talent around him and his own talent. I can't fault him for never bringing his team back from behind because he never let his team get down - he kept them on track offensively. Mac Jones wins at the next level with the 6 inches inbetween his ears. I can't tell you whether he's going to be brilliant, but so far he's absorbed and processed every bit of information Alabama / Sarkisian and Rhule (for a week) has thrown at him. He's an interesting prospect.
  3. Here's the thing, let's say he's got the same physical talent as Bridgewater, but he's not as afraid as Teddy is to push the ball down the field. That instantly makes him a better QB and probably results in a couple more wins last season.
  4. Paid him $100m and moved on from him when he was a physical wreck?
  5. You don't post in Wingdings, you're not Cam Newton.
  6. Holy poo we'd better be in win now mode to make that deal.
  7. Why even bother hiring a GM if you take that deal? He's going to have no Draft picks for the next two years.
  8. I have to think that Stafford drew a 1st and a 3rd. That other 1st was so the Lions would eat Goff's contract. It's really that bad.
  9. It's unfortunately a very simplified way of looking at it, but that's Jeremiah and Bucky all over.
  10. So because someone disagrees with your assessment they're trolling? I absolutely get Tom Brady vibes from Jones. He'll never reach those levels, but there are comparisons to be made. The most amusing thing is people overlooking his ridiculous stats / success because it doesn't fit into their narrative. If he was an uber athlete with a huge arm they'd be falling over themselves to crown him. I'm aware that a lot of the NFL Draft is about projection. But that's also how you pick guys like Bortles, Ponder et al and overlook Wilson, Brees, Brady etc. When it all plays out I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the first round.
  11. The thing I take away from pre-Draft talk is how interesting it must be to be in the War Room. You look at the wide variety of opinions / comparisons on each player. You can't just dismiss that as some moron on a message board (you know who you are ) when the guy you're talking to is a 20 year NFL Scouting veteran. It's a wonder any picks get made on time.
  12. Yes, missing on a QB was the only thing wrong with THAT Browns franchise.
  13. Chin up, you might die before next season.
  14. You weren't too far off - he was most likely to go to a team that's ready to win now. Obviously the Colts didn't want to match the Rams offer.
  15. Let's you know what we think of the 'franchise 4' QBs this year, huh?
  16. He wouldn't have played over JT Daniels.
  17. Did you see his press conference? I know I did. So was he really in front of like 3 people, or was he in front of hundreds of thousands?
  18. LOL that's terrible from Daniel - just watch him walk into the endzone why don't you.
  19. Like Brook, his deep ball isn't NFL quality. Albeit Brook is because he doesn't set his feet.
  20. I missed the start of the game, is Mac Jones playing? I know he had an ankle injury and was doubtful.
  21. It's where all the Deadspin staff who resigned went.
