Doesn't take an insider to see this. This fanbase has either PTSD or Stockholm syndrome. All depends on the individual. It would be a shame though if we ended up with another retread QB with this staff.
-
He did say "per PFF". In other words, random dude who took quote snippets out of a PFF article or tweet.

What were we offering for Watson? The deal the Browns did was 3 1sts, a 3rd, and 2 4ths. I'd guess we were in that neighborhood. How many of y'all were okay with that trade for a QB who ended up with a 38.3 QBR in 2022, but don't want to trade similar for the #1 pick?
-
Was the scouting revamp before or after the Darnold trade? I don't remember.
-
I'd be okay with that, but he's on a media tour saying Carr is perfect for Carolina. No thanks.
-
He also gave Duce Staley's official title on here before the team announced it.

I hear two qb names over and over here for next year. If they maintain their trajectory they aren't falling to 8 or 10. And if we are taking the 3rd or 4th qb next year, and trading up to do so ?? I think I'd rather go to 1 this year. Seems asinine if that is what people are thinking.
-
With a Carr and this staff, I could see us drafting next year in the 16-24 range. Or we better be if we are dropping $40 million on a QB. Anyway, how are we getting from 16+ to #1 overall? Especially when 9x out of 10 the #1 pick needs a QB and ain't budging. If we are drafting a QB, if we want to trade up and want our pick of the class, this is the only year to do that. Otherwise we are moving up to 8-10 to grab someone that falls. I really, really do not see us picking in the top 10 next year.

Why do half of them have a deer in headlights look?

We use to collect all the db's. Now we collect all the HC's. All your head coaches are belong to us!
-
If this coaching staff performs the way we think it will perform, we may not see another top 10 pick again for a long while. A lot easier to get up to 1 or 3 from 9 then it would be from 15-20. If the front office is thinking this way, then they should do whatever to get to 1, even if it means a 3 way trade. I agree CJ Stroud looks like the best in this class. I just don't want to go up to 3 or wherever and get an also ran.

This is a perfectly normal thing someone would say in 2023.

She's pregnant you douche.

Yes. Identifying a QB is obviously hard. We are more likely to miss than hit. I prefer more swings. Is there a correlation with QB1 vs 2 vs 3 etc off the board with success? Honest question, idk, but it doesn't feel that way based off recent memory. Strictly talking about top 10 qbs, which it's pretty rare for more than 3 going top 10.
-
My only concern with trading up for a QB, is if it fails. If one falls to us at 9, we can select another next year. If we trade up, we're stuck for most likely 3 years without a second shot at a top prospect. I have no issues with drafting a guy and whiffing, but what's the backup plan if that happens and you do not have a 1st for the foreseeable future? Point is, if we trade up to 1 or 3, we better be certain. Fitt's job is going to ride or die on the success of that pick.

He said the players. We have a lot of rookies/2nd year guys on this roster that the only NFL head coach they worked under directly was Rhule. They never seen a different way. Guys like Brown, Chinn, Horn, etc.

They are hosting the Super Bowl this Sunday. I heard they do not want to distract from that.
-
As far as pushing their money out several years, if you are talking about restructuring, the players get their money upfront. It becomes bonus instead of salary. Bonus can applied to future years cap over the entire length of the contract. Players aren't ever turning down being paid in advance.

I think people are underestimating him. Who are the top QB's in the league right now today? Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Jackson, Herbert, Rodgers. After that, maybe Prescott, Watson?, Stafford, Hurts? Then it gets muddy real fast. Can you put Wilson, Cousins, Murray over Carr? Idk. Carr is top 15 in the league, possibly top 10, top 12 depending on your feelings. He's certainly good enough to make a team a contender if the rest of the team is put together. Probably won't win a Super Bowl, but can turn the Saints into a 12 win team. To me Carr with the Saints is about equal to Cousins and the Vikings. Good enough to be a problem.
-
They will have to give him an extension that kicks his salary down the road. I think they have negative $50 mil+ they have to fix for next season already. Raiders may take on a portion of the contract to reduce the burden on the Saints. Makes sense if a 1st rounder is in play, because otherwise he isn't worth a first.

Another Special Juan clickbait thread (aka nothing to see here)
Luciu5 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers

You probably won't get another chance. This is probably literally the first and last time Mr Beast will come up on this forum. Actually, wonder if he came up previously when he did that video with Cam years back?

I do too for the most part. I don't post much but I read pretty much everything. I like the insight and I make fun of people in my head for their dumbass takes. Anyway, Scot doesn't pie apparently (weirdo) so thought I'd throw that out there. I figure he'd appreciate randos pay attention to him.
