  1. Remember when Bryce Young was a "mini Mahomes" in the making? Now he needs elite weapons across the board lol. Gotta love being a Panthers fan.
  2. I'll be patiently waiting to see what OL additions we snatch off the waiver wire.
  3. Look don't get me wrong here. I'm not arguing it's going to just change his arm talent overnight. I'm just saying doing anything on the physical front after the GM who stuck his neck out for him over the concerns around his physical traits got fired is better than doing nothing. That's another layer. It could easily be argued overall he needed to add at least 10 pounds not just for the sake of working in the pocket and not going down so easily but let's be honest eventually no matter how much we invest in the OL he's going to get hit some and those hits will add up. His frame as it stands is only going to absorb so much over a 17 game season. Oh definitely good or bad we will have to run a lot of under center stuff. Bryce will either look good or flounder. But our offense will remain stagnant if we just keep running shotgun plays 90% of the time. You're telegraphing your offense otherwise. That's why I'm not giving Chuba Hubbard too hard of a time over his YPC last year. We weren't fooling anyone. We'll see what Canales has cooked up. It better be pretty damn clever.
  4. Roll the dice on whomever can build a culture here we've had enough of this loser mentality mess. Also. Fug Kenny Atkinson
  5. The odds of Canales or anyone completely fixing his mechanics and footwork in one offseason are low let's just be honest about that. His mechanics are what they are because he's been doing things this way since high school to compensate for his height. In terms of his arm we will have to agree to disagree. In the short term adding any level of muscle would certainly help more than not given the situation. We cannot change his height. But even Scott Fitterer talked about getting him into the weight room. He's long gone.
  6. I know we're in the hopium phase of the year right now but this is all over the game film that every defense we face is going to be waiting for. If Bryce keeps doing this sooner or later we are going to be stuck arguing over why this or that receiver sucks because they can't bail out Bryce all the time. Legette would just be next in line. Bryce is a first overall pick. He's got to figure out how to get some more torque out of his arm. These yarns about his frame and this and that just seem like an excuse to justify him not wanting to lift weights. He's got to match the output of his offensive counterparts who have been putting in the work.
  7. Even Kyle Allen won 5 games. If we can't at least match that someone needs to be packing their bags.
  8. Darnold looks worse the more he plays. But overall they are same tier. Both can make some big plays. But game to game starting it's eventually going to get bad. Both are good guys and likeable. Bryce Young is likeable too. But in terms of performance the truth and real world results are all that matters in football. In that regard we need to see Bryce Young look significantly better than any of the riff raff we've seen the last few years. For all of our sakes let's hope that happens
  9. Remember that Saints game to close the season in 2022? Just abysmal QB play.
  10. Dalton is honestly garbage. He's on par with Sam Darnold at this stage in his career. All circumstances aside you want your #1 pick to be a push minimum in comparison. Not one of the statistical worst rookie season of the last 20 years. Bryce has a lot of work to do and a lot to make up for. I hope he does. We will know by November.
  11. More of the same arguments and copes. Yawn. Need this season to get here so we can definitively know what we have in Bryce Young and get the excuses out the door once and for all.
  12. I was wondering about this so good to know they are going in a whole different direction altogether. Worse drafts than even Marty Hurney? Yeah.... see ya.
  13. The UDFA center we signed is intriguing. But that's all we've got to hang our hat on. Honestly we should be keeping another option in our back pocket even if it means signing another vet. For those saying that's too cautious. Go back and watch the OL play from last season. Then go back even further and watch Matt Paradis play center for us. Then come back here and tell me there's nothing to be concerned about.
  14. For sure the takes this go around are much more realistic and less prone to simple blind faith. There is optimism but it is about the additions we've made that are being done differently. We are acquiring talent and young talent not low end projects and overpaying to do so. And the fact that so many people are expressing concern about the center position shows the fanbase is finally learning. As I've said before we all want the same thing. There is nothing wrong with difference of opinion. Even with csx we can give each other grief but I've got no beef with him on the whole he's just as committed to the team as me or anyone else. But no one is required to pledge fealty to any coach front office member or owner of this team. For some reason others borderline expect that. I don't get it. But to each his own.
  15. Ironically I was just reading a thread from 2021 about Scott Fitterer's first offseason and lo and behold guess who was there trying to portray me as a no fun allowed hater because I wanted to actually see the new GM produce some results that turn into winning football before crowning him? It was you on your last account @Moo Daeng Here's a word for ya my guy.
  16. Whew buddy I caught some strays in that thread just for suggesting we let Scott Fitterer prove any level of a consistent track record before annointing him. That turned out well...
  17. Wanting your first overall pick to perform like a first overall pick is not a witch hunt. I feel like the majority of fans here are on the same page and want to see the offensive improvements come to fruition and yes that includes Bryce. But there will be very little room if any for excuses.
  18. This is a good and realistic take on our draft and our situation going forward overall for anyone interested.
  19. Simms and Boomer out is addition by subtraction but Matt Ryan? One step forward three steps back. Will not watch.
  20. The Corbett hype and assumptions being made by many here give me an uneasy feeling all too reminiscent of years past. Anyone remember that line "the answer is already on the roster?" How'd that work out for us? We've had some awful center play since Kalil retired. I'm not sold on hopes and dreams about Corbett. But this is the gamble we've made. Regardless I will accept no excuses for poor QB play this season with the overall investments that have been made. We need to see improvement and trips to the end zone. Make it work.
