  1. Of course that's relevant. But this offense isn't exactly one that thrives in the red zone either Bryce's improvements aside. You gotta score points.
  2. Alright get that dumpster lit.... merged_video_14.mp4
  3. Pay him but it needs to be a realistic incentive based deal and one where the team can move on a few seasons if need be. No more sweetheart contracts.
  4. You know. It's possible to compliment Bryce Young without going out of your way to denigrate our only MVP in franchise history and one of only two long term starting QB's in about 30 years unprompted.
  5. Only down 11 at the half. Thought it would be worse lol.
  6. The full list for anyone interested. https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#aggressiveness
  7. https://steelersdepot.com/2023/10/kenny-pickett-is-the-nfls-most-aggressive-quarterback-which-isnt-a-good-thing/
  8. He had 339 touches last year and 329 touches in 2022. He also came out of college with a record number of touches. He's simply got a ton of miles on him and he'll be 29 next summer. Eventually it all adds up and that wall is there waiting for every RB.
  9. I made this very remark back when people here were wanting to pay this guy 20-25 million a season once upon a time. A few people jumped all over me. I've been skeptical of Morgan but at least he was wise enough to cut bait quickly after taking a chance on this guy. He's just another headcase WR.
  10. The majority of the huddle was all but ready to turn the page after the conclusion of his rookie season. It's not hyperbole to say in several key statistics he had one of the worst rookie seasons in many years. That's why even looking like a competent starting QB is being met with near parades around these parts. But the people who are looking to talk down to others are definitely forgetting this franchises past with the QB position if they are getting too invested in only the last 4 games. Even a guy like Baker Mayfield who people around the NFL had said finally turned the corner looked like dogshit against our defense and has now fallen off again.
  11. Progress is good. Unfortunately 1 month of QB play isn't enough to form a true picture. Roughly right around a year ago the flavor of the month was Tommy DeVito. A few years before that Jets QB Mike White made a name for himself. Need at least 8-10 games of consistency to form a true conclusion. Even then nothing is guaranteed.
  12. Jameis has more experience. But while Jameis has always had dicey decision making at best he's always had that big play home run potential at any given moment. Fair or not we're still waiting to see that from Bryce. And that's what separates the two of them as first overall picks. No offense or disrespect to anyone else but as a Panthers fan who has seen a lot I don't consider that a sample size compared to the whole body of work but that's just my opinion. We're talking 25 total games. To me a true sample size will be the last 4 games paired with the remaining games on the schedule. If Bryce can sustain consistency throughout that whole stretch then we have something to build on. But I refuse to deal in these hopes revolving around 4 games or less. Seen it with Kyle Allen. Seen it with Teddy Bridgewater. And realistically we can name any number of QB's who have strung together a handful of impressive games but ultimately faded back to the norm. We will have to wait and see which category Bryce lands.
  13. Not a comparison that makes sense. They are at completely opposite stages of their careers. Still. With all the hopium in the air right now it is worth noting that while as a passer he is known for his boneheaded decisions currently Jameis Winston is 20th in passer rating while Bryce Young sits at 41.
  14. I think Tee Higgins is a pipe dream. We would have to overpay just to get him to consider. Plus for us to make that kind of move and investment it would instantly accelerate the clock on Bryce Young to showcase results that look like a top 10 quarterback. You don't make that kind of all in move otherwise.
  15. At least the team is out there competing until the end despite all the circumstances in such a short time to start the season.
  16. We can add a few more pieces to the offense but this defense needs to be rebuilt. At some point you have to expect your first overall pick to maximize what you've given him and give you your return on the investment.
  17. He's definitely been moving the ball more which is good to see. Now let's find out if he and this offense can take a step forward against an opponent like the Eagles.
  18. Agreed which is why I mentioned it and framed it as being certainly an eat crow moment for a lot of people myself included. I'd love to see him shock the league like that. I think the direction the conversation went immediately after is a prime example of how the topic of Bryce Young in general has become so bitter and contentious. The fanbase is split between people who want to see him look like a first overall pick over the course of multiple starts and not just against inferior defenses and people who apparently have low expectations and are just fine with him not looking horrific. But that's not how the NFL works and that's not why we drafted him.
  19. No sir. You both asked the question knowing either way you would get a response you could pounce on so you could get on your own high horse and accuse bias which you immediately did. None of us here are required to have the same opinion or expectation of Bryce Young. His passing output has been consistently so comically low that even 250 yards has become a rare praise worthy event. Finally he throws for 298 yards yesterday and now you say me asking for 300 passing yards from him in one single game against a better opponent is akin to asking for him to throw for 5000 yards in a season (silly comparison at best). Yet you accuse me of not seeking productive conversation? Sure.
