We are stuck with him for three years minimum. Gave up too much to get him.

I hope everyone who’s losing it on Frank realizes that this is all Tepper. It’s also becoming more and more obvious Bryce was Teppers pick and is being coddled/shielded.
It won’t matter who we bring in to coach or manage this team until Tepper removes himself from all football operations.
The only reason we had a sliver of success under Wilks is because he went against everything Tepper has been asking for / wanting. Tepper has been adamant about wanting a new school offensive approach and Wilks was the polar opposite. Even during the hiring process, any time Wilks was mentioned to Tepper you could tell he was never being seriously considered.
It’s Tepper’s way or the highway.
Yep. This poo show will just continue as long as Tepper's peanut brain and giant ego have a say. Fitterer's last three first round picks are Bryce Young, Ikem Ekwonu, and Jaycee Horn. At least he won't get to ruin a first round pick this year. His second rounders don't seem so bad other than Mingo. We could have had Rashee Rice (same large frame etc) ten picks later than Mingo.

Was in my car listening to the radio and Kyle Bailey says he has been talking with people in the building and Tepper isn't happy, damn near furious about how the season has gone. Pretty much wants improvement asap or else.
Take that how you want it. Didn't see it already posted.
Time to trade the rest of our future draft picks for some has-beens so we can go 2-15.

They have the most talented offense in the NFL. We traded our only legit WR and a ton of draft capital to go get our franchise QB. When you make a move like that it's because you think you're getting a guy that you don't have to surround with elite talent because your ability to do so is going to be severely limited. We're going to have to be wizards in FA and the mid-late rounds to make this experiment work.
Yep. And we aren't going to be "wizards" with Fitterer.

Is this really true though? Texans have been picking high for several drafts now and our first round picks aren't looking great.

6. Adam Thielen (WR) 74.1
(Low)
1. Chandler Zavala (G) 27.6
2. Bryce Young (QB) 40.8
3. Ihmir Smith-Marsette (WR) 41.2
4. Amare Barno (OLB) 46.2
5. Ikem Ekwonu (T) 48.1

I don't know exactly how this season is going to turn out, but I really can't see this team mustering more than 6 wins. It's hard to watch right now without DJ Moore (our best weapon outside of CMC in recent history) out there and knowing we have no 1st rounder for the next draft. We fired Wilks after the season, so there was no "winning culture, bro" to be sustained. So what exactly was the point of last year? We beat bad teams and got trounced by good ones.
If we had finished the year with Rhule or Baker, we would have either Young, Stroud, or Richardson at no extra cost. And don't tell me about player morale because it isn't looking great right now anyways. Not to mention we are getting laughed for being "fleeced" by Chicago and keeping Burns looks like a horrendous move right now.
I know, I know. "I'm a loser." "Players and coaches don't tank."
So, can you provide a reason that you would still stand by the anti-tanking mindset?
Not even tanking. Just realizing that this team was not ready to go all in on a qb yet especially when we are forced to get rid of CMC and DJ. These skills position players with a rookie qb is a laughable strategy.

What to they do to get a 1st rnd pick in 2024. What sort of package would you put together to make that happen?
Opinions please.....
If we take a 1 for Burns after turning down the Rams offer of two ones and a two, it's time to get the pitchforks out and head to Scott's house.

Trade for Cooper Kupp - he’s a #1 and the Rams need cap space. They have 2 guys that have stepped up in Kupps absence.
That's because Kupp is a system wr that has begun the injury stage of his career. If anything, i would try for Puka Nacua, but the Rams aren't stupid. It would make perfect sense for Fitterer to make the Kupp trade because he is an idiot. We traded down to take Jonathan Mingo who never got any separation at Ole Miss (go look at his college highlights) and won't get any separation now. Pretty tough to step up to the NFL speed when you have no one that can create space. This wr bunch would be taxing on a vet let alone a rookie.

trade for Gilmore, did not resign.
trade for CJ Henderson for a 3rd, dan Arnold.
Trade for Shenault.
Trade for Bryce. (2 1st, 2 2nds, and DJ Moore)Traded CMC for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
Rams offered 2 1st, 2nd for burns. Last year of contract, no extension.
Got cute and took local fav CJ Horn over Pat Surtain. Tepper sucks and so does Fitterererer.

With the no. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Bears pick....
With the no. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Bears pick...
The good news is we can get Justin Fields for a ham sandwich.

Why does this matter? In either scenario we wouldn’t have a chance to really contend until year 3. Seems better to have the QB with one extra year under his belt than the skill players. QBs that make it usually make their big leaps after year 1
Because by waiting on the qb, we could have kept DJ AND drafted a skill player too. Pick up the qb in '24 and we are in pretty good shape.
-
Ekwonu over Evan Neal and that's it. Thinking we needed to trade up for Bryce with this group of skill players is funny. Worst skill position players on offense in the NFL. Tepper being the worst owner in the entire NFL doesn't help.

But they're probably about to bottom out and have to do a full rebuild
Maybe "bottom out" and "full rebuild" are a bit premature. They look surprisingly competent.

Yeah, let's add another B list wide receiver to our long list of B list wide receivers. Is Kardarius Toney available too?

The contract sanders received is nowhere near the top of the list of problems we've had since Fit has been GM. There are many other things to complain about, but this is not one of them. The financial impact is minimal and has no effect on our ability to add talent to the team.
Agree.

Don’t feel too bad for them..with the panthers pick and their own, they will have plenty QBs to choose from next year
Who didn't like this comment? You don't think Chicago will be able to land a quality qb next year (who is not a midget)? They most certainly will. Two top five draft picks coming up.
-
I thought we picked Horn over Surtain because he was a local hero. Fields sucks, but we are about to gift them a really good first round draft pick.

Last playoff appearance was in 2017 so we are in year 6 of a drought
Let's say hypothetically this gamble doesn't pay off, you have to give Bryce what, 3 seasons? And after that is it a reboot once again?
That would make what, a decade before meaningful Panthers football?
Now I can see why the Browns gave up the farm to get Watson or the Bengals did everything they could to resign Burrow
How will we know if Bryce is a bust or not when he has that group of wide receivers?

He may not have earned the head coaching job here,
But he did. What exactly did he do that was not positive? He didn't get the job because they wanted a younger offensive mind from day one. He was never given an actual chance to get the job short of blowing out every single opponent he faced. Like I said, giving him false hope was another stupid Tepper move.
-
We have a better qb. They have a better everything else. Falcons 27 Panthers 13.
-
We could have kept Rhule until the end of the season and had the number one pick. We are looking at a long rebuild. The benefits of sucking in '23 will go to Chicago. We will be filling multiple holes w/ minimal draft picks. Tepper is the worst owner in the league. He should be doing the opposite of what he thinks since every decision he makes is bad.
