Miami’s Restrepo didn’t run at combine and posted a 4.8 at his pro day. That’s a brutal time at a pro day where everything works in your favor
Oof. I pulled him in a mock in like 4-5 round and felt good about it. That might be his ceiling now.

The QB's and WR's would not be rated so highly had they come out last year.

Paired with Moehrig, this could be a very good safety tandem.
And Marcus Williams. We have two safeties on the roster currently. Need this one.

Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham raised some eyebrows at the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend when he weighed in 24 pounds under his listed playing weight.
However, ESPN's Jordan Reid reported that NFL teams aren't particularly concerned with Graham potentially being undersized, as his skills still make him one of the top prospects in the 2025 draft.
"Graham surprisingly weighed 296 pounds at the combine after being listed at 320 at Michigan, but the scouts I talked to weren't fazed," Reid stated. "His hand speed and ability to deconstruct blocks are among the best in a deep defensive line class, and his 19 pressures were tied for 21st in the FBS among defensive tackles."

My first answer was - I believe the LT run would start at 8. A team that wants the top OLmen, Panthers would be the team to dealt with. There's like 3 OLmen that could be draft here. Banks, Campbell, membou.
Ashton Jeanty is the other. If he falls to 8th, it could force some team to jump up for.
Sanders could fall until 8 and QB always bring a steep price.
That's five names.
Those are all good ones. The top TE Tyler Warren, Tet or Golden, Will Johnson, and Dart are all possibilities too. If we pick at 8, I hope it is Graham or Johnson. We can get the edge help later.

So, let's talk about this. Tetairo McMillan isn't as slow as some thought, eh?

Played against mediocre competition and had trouble creating separation.

OLB=trade back and take James Pearce at 17 or so.

His wife Angie is hot.

Milroe just ran the third fastest time by a qb ever at his pro day. QB needy teams? Come on down. We got a spot where you can get Milroe or Dart.

What this draft lacks in perceived elite talent it makes up for in depth at quite a few positions groups.
DT, Edge, CB, WR, RB all needs and all deep.

Between walker, williams, and Stewart.
....all three are a stretch at 8.

TMac: "good player not great."
-
Was it someone on here that asked where TMac would be ranked in last year's wr class or did i hear that on the radio? Either way it is a good question and the answer is 4th or 5th best (but much better than X).
-
Stewart is who he is. Williams had a bad ankle all year that caused his production to go down. I would pick Williams over Steward but would rather trade back than take either at 8.

And they don't have any extra picks. They are going to be the same team next year. Poor D and in constant shootouts. Chase looks good for fantasy though.

Carolina Panthers: B
RB Rico Dowdle
- 2024 PFF Grade: 73.9
- 2024 PFF WAR: 0.13
- Contract: 1 year, $3 million
- PFF Projected Contract: 3 years, $15 million ($8.5 million guaranteed)
- PFF Deal Grade: Above Average
Dowdle had a career year with the Dallas Cowboys in 2024, earning a 74.4 PFF rushing grade, averaging 3.28 yards after contact per carry and forcing 45 missed tackles. He joins a Panthers backfield that includes Chuba Hubbard, who earned an 87.0 PFF rushing grade a year ago.
P Sam Martin
- 2024 PFF Grade: 67.8
- Contract: 1 year, $3 million
- PFF Projected Contract: N/A
- PFF Deal Grade: Above average
Martin has been a reliable punter, earning a PFF punting grade above 65.0 in each of the past five seasons. He should be an upgrade over Johnny Hekker, who posted PFF punting grades of 60.2 in 2023 and 53.3 in 2024.
C Brady Christensen
- 2024 PFF Grade: 63.6
- 2024 PFF WAR: 0.02
- Contract: 1 year, $2.787 million ($2.787 million guaranteed)
- PFF Projected Contract: 2 years, $7.5 million ($4 million guaranteed)
- PFF Deal Grade: Average
A solid depth re-signing for Carolina, Christensen had two games in 2024 where he earned a PFF grade above 75.0. He also brings valuable versatility, having started at both left tackle and center last season and at every position along the offensive line throughout his career.
DI Tershawn Wharton
- 2024 PFF Grade: 61.7
- 2024 PFF WAR: 0.15
- Contract: 3 years, $54 million ($30 million guaranteed)
- PFF Projected Contract: 2 years, $16.25 million ($9 million guaranteed)
- PFF Deal Grade: Below Average
Acting as primarily an interior pass-rushing specialist for the Chiefs during their run to the Super Bowl in 2024, Wharton enjoyed a solid year of production, notching nine sacks on his way to capturing a career-best 71.9 PFF pass-rush grade. In his fifth season, Wharton secured his first-ever double-digit pass-rush win rate (10.5%). However, one year of production makes this significant contract a bit of a risk.
DI Bobby Brown III
- 2024 PFF Grade: 61.4
- 2024 PFF WAR: 0.05
- Contract: 3 years, $21 million
- PFF Projected Contract: N/A
- PFF Deal Grade: Average
A fourth-round draft pick back in 2021, Brown has earned a PFF overall grade above 60.0 in all four of his NFL seasons. This is a modest deal, and he will form part of the Panthers' revamped interior defensive line rotation.
EDGE Patrick Jones II
- 2024 PFF Grade: 55.7
- 2024 PFF WAR: -0.03
- Contract: 2 years, $20 million
- PFF Projected Contract: 2 years, $10 million ($6 million guaranteed)
- PFF Deal Grade: Below Average
Although Jones experienced a productive year as a rotational contributor along the Vikings’ front, his numbers largely came as a result of Brian Flores’ scheme in Minnesota. While Jones enjoyed a career-best 69.4 PFF run-defense grade in 2024, his marks as a pass-rusher left much to be desired. His seven sacks in 2024 were a career high, but he managed just a 6.7% pass-rush win rate — 103rd out of 130 qualifying edge defenders in 2024.
CB Tre’Von Moehrig
- 2024 PFF Grade: 67.5
- 2024 PFF WAR: 0.14
- Contract: 3 years, $51 million
- PFF Projected Contract: 4 years, $72 million ($40 million guaranteed)
- PFF Deal Grade: Average
The Panthers will hope Moehrig can bring his excellent 2024 run play (87.5 PFF run-defense grade) with him from Las Vegas to Carolina, and improve upon a down season in coverage. Last year with the Raiders, he allowed completions on 38 of 54 throws into his coverage for 436 yards and five touchdowns. He did snag two interceptions and force three incompletions.
Tershawn Wharton, a defensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers, received a 90.1 PFF grade in the Super Bowl, the highest among Chiefs players. PFF He also had a respectable 6.5 sacks. I think Wharton and Brown were nice dline pickups especially with a draft deep at those positions.

I thought they really liked JJ? They are going to potentially sit him a couple of years?

Miles and Jevonte, lol. My gut tells me Jerry was influential.

Meh, planning for long term tackle would disappoint a lot of fans but this team is not on the verge of contending for anything significant in '25. Sounds like Golden really is ascending. I think he will be the first wr taken and that Tet could be the third.

I got a feeling, there is something up with Icky. This is going under-radar, but it needs to be watched with Hawkeyes.
My theory is there are a few plans, the main one is to replace Motown with Ickey. Shock the huddle with 3rd or 2nd round LT pick that the group of OL Coaches(fyi there are 3) want as their vision of LT. Icky is better fit and RT are cheaper to pay.
So a starting LT for Bryce from the 2nd or 3rd round? That sounds risky or do you mean we take one this year expecting him to start in '26?

Golden over TMac and Warren? Not seeing it
Nobody is saying that. Warren and TMac would require us to use the no. 8. Golden would not.
-
XL should improve some this year, but that was such a horrible pick. I think that means we don't take Tet at 8. The resume of XL and Tet being back to back first pick wr failures would be quite the black mark on the resume.

I love reading that Golden has great hands, great route runner, and creates separation. Also, he would be available late in R. 1. Here are some draft projections from March 2:
Jordan Reid, ESPN: No. 3 WR
Matt Miller, ESPN: No. 4 WR
Field Yates, ESPN: No. 4 WR
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: No. 25 overall, No. 4 WR
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network: No. 22 prospect overall, No. 3 WR
Dane Brugler, The Athletic: No 27 overall, No. 4 WR
PFF: No. 25 prospect overall, No. 4 WR
CBS: No. 34 prospect overall, No. 4 WR

Safeties don’t change games. Corners don’t change games. Wide receiver is a maybe but if you take Warren you get a 6’6 250 lb receiver.
warren is BPA. You don’t reach for need in the Top 10.
Tyler Warren is TJ Hockenson 2.0. The BPA is more likely going to be Jeanty.

Once upon a time, people said that about Mingo and Leggette. Let's hope they learned their lesson. I think these writers just look at the mocks and then write a story that Carolina is interested in _______ and hope the mocks add some small amount of credibility. Of course the Panthers have a reputation of showing their cards so who knows. I hope they aren't giving anything away this year.
