Chuba gets north south very quickly and on the pass plays he is much improved. Nice to have a back that does not dance around but puts his head down and goes.
-
He should have stayed down like he was hurt and he would have gotten the call. Needs to watch more professional soccer to get the hang of it.
-
By your own logic, Thielen being able to get open is even more impressive if the other team knows he is getting the ball and somehow he still gets open. Is he going to blow you away with speed and all the eye popping stuff, no, but the dude is very good at what he does.
-
Because he shows up and does his freakin job week in and week out and works his ass off.

The ability to rush the quarterback in this league is more valuable than a receiver. Skill players are great, but line play wins and loses ball games. All the shiny pieces will not take the place of the guys in the trenches. We have larger needs than WR imo. We need to be able to run the ball on the offense. When we had success early running Sunday, they passing game was much better. We need burns or someone comparable on the defense to pressure the opposing QB so I would not trade Burns for Adams, who apparently is more concerned about his personal stats than winning.
-
They just need to put Jammie on the field if for no other reason to give to attitude to that secondary. He cannot be worse than some we have out there now.

First Philly's line is elite, but secondly Miles caught short passes in the flats for the most part. He is not and cannot run between the tackles. Chuba is running much better up the middle, problem is the defense now knows when Chuba comes in we are trying to run up the middle, when Miles comes in they know we are trying to get him outside or that is where he will try to run anyway. His ball security issues also make him a liability out there. Run Chuba and Laviska and let Miles sit on the bench holding a football the entire game for a while.

Observer: Is it time for Panthers to go to Andy Dalton?
Barney replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Does not really matter without a running game. -
you there for the Ryder Cup?

Can Bryce Young lead Panthers to a deep playoff run?
Barney replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Mingo and Thielen would be fine if there was any kind of running game. Thielen did not just fall of the map in one season. Guy is a very good receiver with excellent route running skills, something this team has needed for a while. With no threat of anyone that can run the ball between the tackles teams are able to defense the pass and rush Bryce. It does not matter who we line up at receiver or who plays QB. -
Who would you rank as top 5 Panther draft busts of all time?
Barney replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think this thread was started just to hammer on Horn some more. I agree with page 1 because I did not read beyond that, but injury should not make someone a bust. -
Too late for what? I don't see how you build chemistry with your receivers sitting on the bench. Most of what I saw yesterday was lack of chemistry and understanding between the receivers and Young. I think that will come with time. I would like to hear from someone at the game. Very hard to see downfield and know how open players were and if he whiffed on them. The times I did get the view on television it did not seem like we were getting much separation with our receivers.

There were a whole lot of teams that passed on Howell so not sure what they saw that made him drop down in the draft like he did. Let's see how good Howell is after his third season before we start firing our GM. Or we can run our team on kneejerk decisions. I think that will work out well for us.
-
I like Howell, but let's not overreact. Let's see how he does this season now that the teams have some tape on him. Year 2 can be much harder than year 1 IMO.
-
Crazy that the season has not started and they are already tanking. I would hate to be a player on that team.
-
I have not looked at stats, but it feels like Tremble drops a lot of balls. Not sure if that take is totally accurate. I just know when the ball is thrown to him I find myself hoping he actually catches it.

More like dodging a bullet.

I would like to see him get more touches this year. I have watched Deebo a lot being a USC fan and what makes him a weapon is his ability to stop and get back to full speed very quickly and his strength being able to run through people when he needs to and get tough yards. I have not seen enough of of Shenault to know just how good he can be in this type of roll.

To those who wanted us to hire Sean Payton...
Barney replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
OMG a coach talked trash about the competition. What is this world coming to lol. Not a Payton fan at all, but mostly because he kind of looks like a rat. -
Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?
Barney replied to DennisM1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is anyone else worried the sky is falling? Asking for a friend.
