I’ve seen all offseason scouts saying not to even bother looking at his 2024 tape because he played injured all season and his 2023 tape is what to expect from him. Despite the injuries and other issues he still put up huge numbers this year so I think that speaks to the kind of player he can end up being for us.

It looks like we didn’t reach for any player in this draft. I think we have potentially 3 starters with our first 3 picks and even our late picks have a lot of potential.

Ryan Fitzgeralds numbers over the last 2 seasons….. he may end up being our starting kicker. 2023: Third-team All-ACC. Ranked seventh in the FBS making 90.5% of his FG attempts (19-21, long 48). Played in all 14 games (58-58-100.0 XP; 115 points; 56 touchbacks on 86 kickoffs). 2024: Third-team Associated Press All-American. Tied for the FBS lead making 100% of his FG attempts (13-13, 5-5 50-plus yards, long 59). Played in all 12 games (14-14-100.0 XP; 53 points; 34 touchbacks on 42 kickoffs). 5-5 last season in fgs over 50 yards. Made 100% of all FG and XP. Didn’t miss an XP over the past two seasons. -

https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2025/03/steven-losoya-iii-2/ Michael Tarquin And Steven Losoya III both are very versatile players, playing multiple positions on the offensive line and with lots of experience. UDFA like that make the roster. Reminds me of Andrew Norwell, who was a great Guard for us. -
That second round pick from last year. Sheesh

How can you give up on a player already after one season? Thomas Davis played after tearing his ACL 4 times in a row. he was considered the top RB. No one could have predicted him getting injured in the future. Still he could easily come back and dominate. Until we see what he does after he comes off this injury, I think it’s not smart to judge the pick. -
Round 2 - Panthers Select Nic Scourton at pick 51
rmoneyg35 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I heard in the bleacher report draft coverage that he was the youngest player in the draft? He’s only 20 so he has lots of time to develop. Supposedly he played around 265-285 last season which slowed him down but he lost a lot of that weight so he should be faster. Gotta wonder if we end up getting a lot better player than the 2024 tape showed? If so then we really got a steal. -
Round 4 - Panthers draft Trevor Etienne RB UGA
rmoneyg35 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was probably the pick I liked the least but apparently he doesn’t have any flaws in his game, is a solid back all around and is only 20 so he could really improve. -
Round 5, Pick 27 (#163) - Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
rmoneyg35 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Love this pick. I believe he was considered the top or one of the top TE at one point. Injuries probably tanked his stock. He broke his foot in 2022 and tore his acl in 2023 so last season he was just coming off that injury. ND produces a lot of great TE and it looks like at worst he may just be a blocking TE but I think we could see a lot more out of him in a few years. -
Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado
rmoneyg35 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watch the video Steve smith did on the guy. He could be a stud considering the talent Colorado had at WR, his numbers weren’t huge because he had to share reps. I recommend checking out the video. Steve smith video on Jimmy Horn Jr -
Don’t see why people hate on our WRs so much. We have 2 #1 WRs with Chark and Thielen. Chark has had some injury history but not that major. Thielen has age but can still be a good #1. He was behind the best WR in the game so it was hard for him to put up huge numbers but he still was good. TMJ could be a number one WR. He’s only played 2 years, didn’t get a lot of playing time but when he did halfway through the season he was good. We don’t know what we have in Mingo but he has a lot of potential. as long as those 4 stay healthy we should be fine. Even if one misses a few games they could easily replace one another. shenault and Shi are solid back ups who are young but are fine for 4-5 WR. why would you want us to trade/sign a older player to a big contract anyhow? We are rebuilding, we need to keep the cap space and grow our own players. How can we have guys like Mingo and TMJ get experience if we sign a vet WR?
-
6000 yards, 98% completion percentage and 50 TDs, zero INTs.
-
I think one reason why we signed Dalton is so we can sit young if he isn’t ready. Hopefully that doesn’t happen though.
-
Lmao I actually ran across and watched his playoff video yesterday

Funny I’ve seen draft comparisons of Mingo to Shenault. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shenault gets cut if we have a younger version of him. Last year I thought he would have made a good 3rd down RB who can catch the ball or used for short yardage. Why not? At least see how he does in practice and preseason.
-
As much as I would love a TE, why would we need one? They will probably just end up on the practice squad and if they are any good they will get picked up by another team. We have Hurst, Thomas and Tremble. Those guys would have to get cut which is highly unlikely. We also have Ricci and Sullivan who have experience who would battle for the 4th spot (if we keep 4 te). Not drafting a te might actually be a smart thing after all. Wait until Ian Thomas contract expires, also by then we should know if Tremble is worth keeping or moving on from. So we could draft replacements then. Also TE is a position that usually takes time for a player to develop. Even your monster TEs didn’t start out with 800 yard seasons.

Robert Lester was a projected first round pick? I actually had high hopes for him after his rookie season. Sad he didn’t last long. Ahhh the good old days when we had UDFA rookies staring in our secondary.

DAY 2: Best of the Rest Big Board by Positions of Interest
rmoneyg35 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
So much talent left. We could end up with a beast TE to go with our rookie QB. Just think if Mayer or Washington falls to us and they are as good as advertised. That would be a huge boost to our offense. WR isn’t as big of a deal to me. I think there is better talent at CB than edge right now and I feel that CB is a bigger need than edge. -
Only if Corral gets cut/traded. I think it’s smart to have two young QBs and one vet.
-
People act like short players haven’t ever been great before. They ignore how his BMI is more than Qbs bigger than him.
-
Th 6’2 prototypical QB is a myth, look at the shotgun percentages
