The chosen one is returning to the NFL
rmoneyg35 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
With all the coaches on offense and a unique scheme I feel that The Golden Calf of Bristol is in the best situation he has ever been in the NFL. -
Why aren't we hearing more about Chris Conley?
rmoneyg35 replied to Panther4lyfe's topic in Carolina Panthers
I understand what your talking about. I have seen plenty of times where a prospect has speed but they say his weakness is not having enough speed. I believe what they are trying to say is that Conley does have great 40 speed but on field speed isn't as great because defenders can slow him down easily. I do like the fact that he can block well, something I didn't know before but Hardy can block well and has a better skill set than Conley so I would put Hardy and even Lockett ahead of Conley. -
How Thirsty is DG for a pass rush DE?

I thought Preston smith was more of a CJ clone? Either way I would feel a lot better with either Smith, Flowers or Odi drafted in the 2nd-3rd round. Thank god it's less than two weeks away until the draft. Also I still believe having a 2nd WR is pretty important to have. I believe that Brown has potential to be a solid #3 but we really have no solid 2 on the roster unless Hill can surprise all of us by some miracle. -

There's always some chance that a player will end up being a star but I wonder how many of these players who have top 40 times at the combine actually end up being successful in the NFL? -
I hate Russell Wilson but he's a pretty good QB. He has a poor Offensive line and no great WR but yet does well in the passing game. If your trying to say RW's stats are only good because he throws short quick passes then why did he lead the NFL postseason in yards per attempt and in the regular season was above average in yards per attempt? We can try to say that certain players are only good because of certain players around them or schemes but it still don't change the fact that they are still successful in what they ate doing.

True but he also won a super bowl without any turnovers and he did have a historic comeback against Green Bay. He was one play away from winning another Super Bowl but his WR was picked off by a great defensive play causing an interception. It wasn't his fault his team lost. Also name one QB who hasn't had a few multi INT games in the playoffs?

Of course he looks good in highlights but how rare do those plays happen? From what I hear he has speed but really doesn't excel in anything else. He will be lucky to be drafted in the fifth round. -
Penn State Forward Ross Travis Enters NFL Draft
rmoneyg35 replied to ItsPantone278's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since tight ends have been successful in the NFL that mostly played basketball I don't understand why we don't see more basketball players who don't have a shot at the NBA tryout for the NFL. -
I just think Dorsett is another prospect hyped by his 40. Maybe I'm wrong. I do think Devin smith is the better WR. Either way I believe Dorsett could be drafted in the second round, maybe fall to the 3rd.

Curious as to why no Strong pre-draft visit.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Hardy will be a better NFL player than Strong. -
Troy Polamalu calls it a career

I wonder if the steelers will try to draft Collins in the first round now that he has retired? I could see them going after a safety in the first three rounds of the draft. -
Update: Charles Tillman signed by Panthers (official)

I wonder if he will play safety like Barber did? -

Not everything on bleacher report is good but I find a lot of useful info on their app. They also use other sites articles so you get to read articles from everywhere. I'm not saying the anti- Strong article is fact but I figured people need to hear all the bad about him and get all the info about him before deciding on what you think of him. I was on the Strong bandwagon but this article has convinced me that maybe other WR prospects are the better option. -

I was a fan of strong until I read this yesterday. Now I don't know if I want the Panthers drafting him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2421862-why-jaelen-strong-does-not-belong-in-the-first-round-of-the-2015-nfl-draft -

Sure he has injury problems but he could be healthy this season. I wonder if not playing football these past few years have actually added a few years to his career like Thomas Davis. -
RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
rmoneyg35 replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since there are only about 18 prospects with a first round grade and plenty with a second round I would rather just trade down and acquire more draft picks. -
Oh well. I thought he had a chance to sign with us.

My favorite WR's options after the 1st round..
rmoneyg35 replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Jordan Taylor and Kenny Cook are tall WRs that we could get in the mid to late rounds. -
We don't want him
-
It's his only move he had since no one else wants him. He could end up being their #1 or 2 WR there. So not bad move for him.

Will our cap wealth next season change Gettleman?
rmoneyg35 replied to PanthersUnited's topic in Carolina Panthers
Like I said we will end up only having about 20-25 million after resigning everyone. We will probably be able to sign a free agent around the 10 million dollar range and a few mid level guys but that is it. Unless we find a solid CB and DE in this draft we will need to resign Alexander, Norman, White, and Horton. Reammers, Nortman, and Stephen Hill could end up costing more money to keep if they have a good season. Thomas Davis will probably only cost about 4-6 million because of his age and love for the organization. Tolbert, Amini and Webb could all be let go. The rest will probably sign for small vet min deals, -
You keep going a few more years back and you find that their past first rounders have included this A running back who has major injury issues A QB that is lucky to make a NFL squad after being let of by the Bucs A defensive end who has had major injury issues. Martin, Freeman and Clayborn have all looked like bust because of play or injury issues. If they didn't sign a bunch of decent free agents they would only have about a handful of good players. It looks like they may have turned things around last year with drafting Evans and ASJ but one year doesn't make or break a player and the Bucs have had plenty of good rookies end up being bust. Just remember WR Clayton who had over 1,000 yards his rookie season then was lucky to make a nfl squad. Winston has a lot of maturity issues so he could end up being another Bust for the Bucs.

I have a feeling Cam will be getting a deal for around 15-20 million. Luke will probably get an extension but I don't think a MLB will get paid but around 10 million. If Josh Norman continues to play well then I could see him being paid around 7-9 million a year. I don't know who else will be free agents but I have a feeling we will probably use about 10 million to resign some of our own players. That leaves us with about 25-30 million depending on how much we decide to pay Cam, Luke, Norman and other upcoming free agents. That's still a lot of money but when you consider we need to save up for future contracts then we might only have enough to sign one big name free agent around 10 million and a few mid level guys (4-6) million. Of course if we draft well and our younger players continue to develop then we won't be desperate to spend money in free agency. -
I believe Buck Allen has more of a chance to be an every down back compared to Duke Johnson who seems to be more of a change of pace/ 3rd down back. Johnson has had injury issues but I believe he has a higher ceiling than Allen. Allen has only had one good season which could be bad but could be good because he has less miles compared to Johnson who is Miami's all time rusher. Here is NFL.coms info on the two so you can make your own opinion on the two.
