  1. The OL is going to need some significant revamping in the upcoming offseason. Draft Tyler Linderbaum to be our center for the next decade in the middle of the 1st (possibly trading down and reacquiring a 2nd or an additional 3rd), bring in a veteran guard that is a capable starter, and then let Erving/Christensen/Daley/Brown compete for the other two spots.

If there's a chance that the team can grab/develop a TE2 as well, that would be incredible. The WRs, despite their trash-tastic day yesterday, are under contract for this season and two more.

Can you imagine how spoiled a rookie QB would be by this team if they're able to get the OL together while maintaining their weapons + defense? It's fun to dream!

  2. The most frustrating part about this is that the strength of our defense is negated by the weakness of the offense.

They're able to generate turnovers, superior field position, etc as often as they're able to give up points.

The offense, unfortunately, is turnover prone. Just being able to protect the ball and sustain drives will put the team in position to win. With a sieve for an OL, the literal definition of feast or famine at QB, and a second year OC it's not surprising that the wheels are starting to fall off.

Then again, this is staying in line with the whole year 2 thing for Matt Rhule teams... 😮

Though it is worth mentioning, to be fair to Sam, when he has made the throws his targets have let him down.

  3. Trending upward:

    • Keith Taylor
    • Sean Chandler
    • Sam Franklin
    • Chuba Hubbard
    • Frankie Luvu
    • WR #4 in the RZ

    Trending downard:

    • Sam Darnold
    • Joe Brady
    • Robbie Anderson
    • John Miller
    • Matt Paradis
    • Dennis Daley

DJ Moore had his worst game of the season, which seemed to be a common theme for the vaunted WR group. The Vikings secondary did an excellent job of blanketing Sam Darnold's weapons, evidenced by his 11/29 passing for 120yds and 1 INT so far.

As awful as the team has played, they're still a defensive stand and a game tying drive away from sending this into OT. Nothing so far has given us reason to believe that this will be the case, but... hey, sue me for trying to find sunshine in a poo show.
