  1. Reporters gotta ask Canales to really know. It depends on how much control they’re giving him and how much we have baked in. Stafford for example is given a ton of liberty to adjust and they seem to have designated receivers that are hot on given plays. If we’re still playing with kid gloves though, they may not be integrating this. And Bryce isn’t good at getting it out quick with his weird drop back so it may not be practical with him. Reich let Bryce do kills (2 play options) last year which had pretty brutal results. Overall, I imagine Canales has some sort of option for Bryce, audible or hots— a NFL offense should have some sort of blitz pickup built in. And he should’ve recognized it…I mean, we had the same CB blitz for 3 sacks lol. I dunno anymore, but it’s brutal to behold
  2. Totally, seemed like a level-headed video. Not targeting him with my comments, speaking a bit more generally.
  3. We’re dealing with a newborn and turned it off after 15ish minutes so have only seen through highlights. Seemed like instances where he needs to make the call or timeout if there’s multiple unblocked defenders staring him right in the face. Don’t know what type of blitz protection we have built into our offense for him to call for but it was there for him to diagnose pre snap.
  4. That’s not terrible for their ranks either. We gave him time, OL played well. Diontae and Adam were schemed open. Hell, Sanders, Mingo and Legette created some room at times. For at least 3 of the sacks, Bryce had the chance to work presnap and call protections and he just sat and took the snap. The QB is not sufficient.
  5. I will say, it’s a bit cathartic in respect to how many “analysts” (aka random guys and failed QBs who think of themselves as these online gurus, dissecting all-22s like it’s their day jobs) look like idiots. I didn’t want Bryce to be awful but it was pretty annoying being told what we were seeing was somehow just due to environment and he was some ingenious QB. I wanted CJ but once it became obvious it was Bryce, I fully got on his train and drank the koolaid. But then it was pretty clear early on he was not cutting it and the veil that Bama produced was strong. Many just wanted to hold onto hope, don’t blame that, but the people trying so hard to dissect Bryce’s every play to spot the good and denigrate us criticizing were insufferable. This is some nasty kool-aid reflux. The fanbase needs some omeprazole pronto.
  6. Amen. Jeans Day Friday and a massage IOUs compared to Snyder, Jones and Kraft. I mean, it’s all messy but JR was the least of the NFL’s worries. Owners just knew they could bully him out bc his son’s were the actual trash and there were no heirs…they easily pushed out of the least wealthy owners and let a big financial player into their club. All money driven just like the bs international crap. And believe me, my one big insider side of things is with NFL ownership and I know how they treated JR at owner’s meetings. He was the senile grandpa who had no idea what was going on and he was discarded. They made fun of him to his face without him even knowing. Imagine the press around Navarro and his daughter killing it in the tennis world too. They missed out going with this finance bozo Tepper who has no real gravitas or ability to build anything. He knows how to accrue and gain, but he’s not a builder.
  7. Rhule was such dogsh*t. Baker looked alright that first game too, and then the reailty of Rhule set in and we set him free before a free-fall. Played immediately better on the Rams for McVay. We cycled through QBs that were fine for now (and maybe 2-3 years) when the team needed to be built. Then claimed we had a well-constructed team that simply overperformed with Wilks to just sit and go all in on a terrible QB. Total failure. Never forget, we gave the Bears what became Caleb Williams QB, DJ Moore WR (top-10 WR), Darnell Wright OT (stud), Tyrique Stevenson CB (stud/who I wanted at 39), their starting punter Tory Taylor, and what looks like pick 33 next year lol. For Bryce f*cking Young.
  8. If this catches on like the “pillows” nickname campaign then watch out!…
  9. If the Rams kept Eric Crouch as a QB instead of converting to a WR, I think he would have done better. Hell, Armanti too.
  10. 2 I thought there would be enough handicaps in place to make Bryce look alright and manage an okay game. But offense was an unmitigated disaster Defensively, we are severely lacking speed in the secondary and pass rush. Vertical teams are going to obliterate us.
  11. This is a legitimately 0-17 type squad with the secondary, pass rush, and QB play. And let’s be real, we’re still likely a top pick at 3-14 so if Bryce is completely awful, I see no reason why we shouldn’t try out other tank commanders to help see what else we’ve got on this team. It would be nice to at least try to find parts for the future.
  12. I’ve enjoyed watching him develop over the years. He has really come along as a passer, has a great arm, legs. A bit inconsistent and reckless trying to play superhero, but that’s what’s been improving. If he continues, we’re likely looking at Beck, Allar, Ewers, and Ward.
  13. Man, if I were him, I would want some chill, non-button pushing mentality with some mystique. You know, find the best football guys your money can buy to run ship, and be this cool, hands off mfer, building an establishment. This organization is a hobby for him. Side project. edit: the fact he doesn't want to build that type of image is telling. He's intent on being a face rather than just creating something cool. Definitely the mentality given his financial background.
  14. I see regression. He initially had, at least, a bit more confidence in short throws. Intermediates and deeps are terrible. But when he drops back, it seems he is taking a second to get a sense of the pocket, like he's needing to shuffle around on a bball court. In the NFL, you trust the line, survey the field and step up. He panics and tries to find a college clean pocket, scurrying around. Honestly, I went back to watch Alabama highlights, and he kind of did this there in big games and they would have a lot of stalled drives. Thing is, he could escape better because he wasn't dealing with NFL DLs. I'm going to one of the current bests, but just look at Stafford last night. That guy can't move at his age. Avila got injured. Tackles were banged up. He had defenders in his face, collapsing pocket. He adjusted. Understood the passing concepts, got the ball out quickly and ahead. Stepped up, got slapped and hit on some throws, but got them out. Bryce plays behind. Reacting to the trench battle rather than trusting it and maintaining focus on the receivers.
  15. And as fans, we can't change it. You can only change the channel. Panthers' fans will be in purgatory until he lucks into either a coach or QB.
  16. The cushy part of local media officially has the green light for critique since it’s year 2.
  17. Baker doing what he's continuing to do is what's super impressive. If we didn't have Rhule & Fitt, we could have probably figured out a decent situation with Baker/CMC/DJ Moore and some promising rookie talents in the past 3 drafts. Just think of the WR and TE talent that's gone through the last few drafts that could've been added to that.
  18. That was when I shut it off. Took it off the Sunday Ticket quad box at 1:35. And honestly, I don't think I'm turning our games on moving forward. There's much more entertaining football to watch out there. And this was the OPENER. This was not week 14 when we were cooked and out of the playoffs, and it's easy to turn off drivel. Just unreal. How long did you folks last today?
  19. Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen could come in and run this much better right now.
