Anything on the Strength and Conditioning Coach front?
No, but these usually fly under the radar, will probably be announced this week.
Joe Kenn still has a relationship with quite a few people in the building. A name to watch is Reich’s guy from Indianapolis. His name is Richard Howell, he is from Bladen, NC.
Ted Rath is an interesting name as well. He worked under Jim Caldwell. He is the VP of Player Performance for the Eagles right now. I doubt he would take a demotion but maybe if the money is right or somebody out of his tree. He was in some legal trouble a few years ago but is highly regarded around the league.

Anything on Jeff Nixon or Kevin Patullo?
I’m almost certain they have spoke, but I haven’t heard anything about either.

Do they have interest or not? I only see articles saying Carolina is "expected" to have interest. If a 37 million dollar (his expected salary) starting QB becomes available, and he is one you really like then you don't really drag your feet in meeting with him. If there is any interest in this point it seems minor, as Frank Reich and Fitt would be at least inquiring about a meeting. Bringing in Caldwell and McCown is a little telling where Reich is leaning with his QB decision and it's currently in the draft. This staff was assembled to help find and develop a young signal caller. Fitt has already said drafting your guy is the best way to do it and also stated if there is one you like you move up and draft him.
FO has interest, wants buy in/collaboration from Reich’s team. You don’t sign a guy that the staff doesn’t agree on, supposedly that’s the situation FR just came from.
Reich’s team hasn’t even sat down together yet.
NFL moves more like the DMV than McDonalds.
I imagine there are other staffs being assembled that will want to talk to him as well. Hence why Carr wants to explore his options with these teams and NY wants deal done yesterday.
What you’re referring to about Fitt is GM speak. Nobody knows what his plan is except him and his team. He isn’t going to broadcast it to the media and lose leverage with other GMs.
Patience everybody.

Nothing officially announced yet so...
The only name I know of from the 3-4 to interview is Klayton Adams who was hired by AZ yesterday. They wanted Heiden but didn’t pan out. There was discussion after hiring Brown about having a TE coach at all.
Brian Bratton and Tyler Boyles have been in contact as well about positions on the staff but none have been offered anything (yet) that I’m aware of.

If there is no urgency they are ok with drafting one. I mean his offensive staff is setup to develop a young QB vs signing a vet.
His staff hasn’t even met yet, and a fair portion of them are getting set up in their office today.
Jets meeting with Carr went well as I said yesterday and as reported above.
Carr’s team wants to sit down with everyone. Carolina’s FO has interest in talking to him but there’s no point in doing it until Frank’s team can come together and discuss if they have interest.

I know Carr is better then the likes of Mayfield and Darnold but I find it really hard to believe the coaching staff and F.O. are gonna go after a veteran QB again when that's what got Reich fired in Indy and is the same thing we've been dealing with. Just seems like it would be a tough sell to the fanbase especially considering Carr isn't gonna come cheap.
It’s believe it’s more due to a fear of not getting one in April.

Any idea on if the addition of Carr rules out a rookie QB or not? I saw one of your previous posts implied we could like Levis, and a redshirt season wouldn't be the worst thing for him. But I can't imagine Carr would have this situation at the top of his list if he thinks the team will invest highly in a rookie who they'll have to play at some point. If he plays well in NYJ/NO he could have that job for a few years.
Personally I only like Carr if the team doesn't think they can get someone at 9. We know the way to win is to attack a window when your QB is on a rookie deal. Carr is okay, but that probably won't be good enough for us to actually be serious when you consider how much he'll have to be paid.
It’s hard to say, I don’t think they have a clear plan yet, the staff is still coming through the door and getting their login credentials and work spaces. The answer to that is locked away in Scott’s brain somewhere.
But, I don’t think you put money on Carr and use a 1st round pick on a rookie. That would be more of move if you signed Tannehill or Darnold (that is only my opinion).

Important to add. Steve Heiden was the primary candidate for this role pitched to FO but he went to Detroit.

A lot of you are going to be surprised at which #7 is the favorite.

Our former (temporary) DL coach under Rhule is out of work again
Rhule already filled that position at Nebraska too
There are people not on coaching staff in CLT that want him back as DL asst. Will be interesting to see if that happens.

FO likes Carr. They didn't originally plan to meet this week, they wanted to wait until after combine, but they may reach out sooner now. Rumors are that NYJ is trigger happy, although DC wants to take his time NY wants a deal done soon.

Coaching Staff: Final Pieces (as of 2-23-23)
in Carolina Panthers

Kenn did recently accept a VP role with a company, so for those hoping that route it’s unlikely but still a possibility.
