Know Your Foe: New England Patriots
strato replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Boston... it used to be a great place in the ‘70s. I hope the Patriots lose every game. -
Yeah, I wish I did.

If the team goes 7-10 and Young looks like he belongs on the field, to me not to the media or his stans, I’d be okay with not replacing him immediately. And getting a stud non QB with the pick like you suggest. (given the guard acquisitions, moving Icky to the right side would be a good idea... unless he suddenly gets a lot better too Regardless we need to start taking swings at guys like Rattler down the draft, regularly, or guys that have the tools but fall out of the top picks for whatever reason. And are sitting there when your turn comes up. Because, decent quality depth, and competition is back in the house

Sounds great but what is picking high? 3-14? 4-13? Wow we doubled the win total! For me, he would have to become a star and it would have to be very obvious that he can thrive in the league. Short of that, if he starts in 2025 after no or marginal improvement, I will be moving out of Dave’s basement.

Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"
strato replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bro, I KNOW you know that Bryce and CJ don’t line up against each other. -
Yeah they were like the worst I think I remember seeing. Ever, in the NFL. Campen was proud I am sure.

Bryce Young won't play in preseason opener

I agree with all (most) of it, have said similar, and we are gonna find out soon enough. If he does not screw it up by getting hurt. QB went 2-14 last year with a team the organization claimed was playoff caliber. Clown show is right for 2023, I am hoping they dumped the clowns for more like a crappy stand up comic for 2024. -

More my style... not Levis in particular, but the assets from trading back added to the non spent trade up assets, it is a really different picture. Plus you might not be compelled to take WRs high two years running, with DJ on the roster. And you have a decent shot in Levis. -
That happens when we try to throw the ball though lol.

I am cured of ever thinking of trading a future 1st round draft pick. I was already there before 2023 happened, it was hard to take. Especially after I watched some film and the wave of support 'went there'. -
I’d rather look at that than a diet of quick bailout and throwaways. You might break a little gain from a run.

You are sort of downplaying that it was compounded by the 2024 pick we traded being The One. I understand if we hadn’t have traded we’d not have had the first pick probably but it was gonna be high. After watching Stroud last year, we may see a repeat outcome with Williams. They say he is looking great. What a folly. I was right there with the people saying the play was just too risky. Young was and is a long shot you don’t do that for a long shot. I always came back to when it looks like a can’t miss generational player (the kind worth trading for), people don’t trade that. -
My plan for Icky was blocked when they signed those two guards. He wouldn’t be out there on an island, inside. He is scary to be honest. Run blocking fool but too freaking blind for the blindside. Guys pass right by him he doesn’t see them in time to block them. Hell of a run blocker though.

If Young went out and got hurt, what would people say? He is being conservative and it is no fun but the more I consider things there is no reason to force something that doesn’t feel right. I am not on the inside to know. As to what someone said about Tepper allowing it, ha ha this is just the first week I bet he can stay silent a week. I know he is trying lol. Probably can’t stand it. -

That deal where Fitterer and Reich ‘kept it a secret’ from each other and were both all in on Bryce -no debate. Did they even have like, panel discussions or was it all, 'write it down and drop it in the box most votes is the pick’? I’m about as curious about this as I am any football stuff in a while. Probably since 2010 Fox and JR with the pie chart. -
He should be deferred to I think, because he knows what he wants for his scheme. This feels like a favor though, given the reports about how his injury is affecting him.
-
I’d be betting they asked Evero and he feels like giving the guy a look because he’s coached him. It costs little. They don’t lose their top waiver position, this is a mole hill.

Tepper ranked dead last in owners (wow color me suprised)

I've been calling him a carpet bagger for a while. -

Stroud looked great and probably will continue to be, but the book on him may not be written either. -
