Yeah we really came out looking so much better on that deal. I mean Stroud’s rating was only 143.9. Clearly the lesser player. I checked last night only because it was highlighted last week I don’t normally concern myself with the rear view that much. To think thatvin year 3 that is still a thing, kind of dumb.

Calling for mama and daddy to tell the bad men not to bother you, is so lame.
-
Oh, I had, and have disappointment; unless he does something between now and the end of the year, I’ll think he was a mistake. Unrewarding use of the pick. However you want to say it.

Bryce Young is “very much above average”? That some propaganda level stuff.
-
The guy from Marshall with the Jets, Pennington I think, had a weak arm but he had some size. He lasted a few years but never did much. The team says ‘it’s a big man’s game” and drafts a historically small player over every single other player. He doesn’t have ‘plus” anything and has a minus arm. It will never make sense.

Bro, this Brees is Bryce thing was debunked two years ago. He isn’t a comparison other than he had trouble seeing over the linemen. The physical comparison just doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Look for yourself. Be honest about what you think Bryce is, size wise. I come to 185 5’10” Brees you see 6’0” to 6’1” and 205 to 210 lbs. Give Brees 3” and 20-25 pounds he is up there near the prototypes. Give Bryce 3” and 25 lbs, he is Brees.

Yeah I am sure you are right. Every week it seems there is something whacky in those numbers they post. I like my simple eyeball test, been watching over 60;years. I know when someone loses or wins a matchup or performs above or sucks. When WR and QB aren’t in sync, I can’t know who was suppose to do what all the time and don’t try to say. Defensive coverages blown, I don’t always know that either.. so I am imperfect. I think PFF is too. No big deal. It’s fun looking at the grades anyway.

I love that. He could be a good one.

I got my conspiracy theory about the XL and Brooks picks. Not going there today but will say I absolutely hated shorting the defense in yet another draft and FA that year. We paid for it too.
-
Oh, you may not recall but I isolated him in rewatching a few games last year. I was really disappointed in what I saw. At the same time, a lot of that slowness could be uncertainty and hesitancy because he is still over his head out there. 3 years. I would happily take an upgrade and make him depth, no doubt.
-
Yeah. I am holding out hope he can be serviceable by year three. That is my ceiling for him.
-
That is common in rb stats. You pound and pound and then they break.
-
I think he did. It has the potential to be a historically productive draft relative to our franchise. And you have the dubious top 2 selections in 2024, but also Mike Jackson, CSW, Sanders, maybe even Wallace.
-
How can we take the other grades seriously when they throw out stuff like that?
-
They have for sure set the offense up to be successful with a QB that can run it.

I was in a typical argument last year with a Bryce advocate and said I could concede every point, but you still would not have an answer for the ball security issues. He coughs it up on the regular. And defenses know this obviously, the likelihood is it keeps happening. There is nothing we can point to showing it won’t. And I won’t ever concede that his margins for error are very thin due to his physical makeup. He has to be so much better than the guys with tools just to get similar results. It is expecting too much.
-
I’ll be strongly disagreeing that he play next year, unless he earns it. He has shown his pattern, 3rd year in a row. Why would we trust that any dim flashes like a few completions are anything other than flashes at this point? When you work at something on a high level, or aspire to, the biggest thing you have to establish is not your ceiling. It is your floor. The challenge is to get your floor up to a level where even a bad day is still decent. Not horrible, just not up to your best. But not total poo either because you will not be kept around if you can’t maintain a certain standard. It’s on you to make that happen.

Going back to the op, I sort of stopped at the anger mention. If Bryce Young were a down draft flyer like he should have been, there wouldn’t be any anger because they wouldn’t keep shoving bad QB play down our throats in that situation. He’d just be gone and replaced by the next guy. No big deal. He would merely be a footnote in team history. We are not mad at him per se, we are for sure sick of watching him play quarterback for the team. And we get mad at the turnovers and subpar performance. That happens with every crappy QB and it comes with the territory. The only thing that gets you grace when you are stinking it up, is a track record of previous success. He has not earned any grace really, because he only has like one really good game in the bank. In 2 1/3 seasons and is showing no improvement this year. Just the same issues again.

Official Week 5: Dolphins @ Panthers Gameday Threadstrato replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers It was a good day for the team. I say this, as a non fan of relentless cheerleading style leadership: I looked at the video of postgame locker room and you can’t tell me those players aren’t bought in. It didn’t look fake to me.

Sad thing is, Bryce will never be as good as Darnold yet is like some huge cause for people, where Darnold just needed to go.
-
This is the problem, sides. There is performance and talent and there is lack of it. You like the kid I guess, He has a great smile and I feel bad for him because he seems like a really good guy. Reality don’t care about that.
-
You apologized to people yesterday. You know the truth and have admitted it. I see others doing the same, on and off the wagon every time the wind changes.

Dennis Cox and Chris Lea on performance todaystrato replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers The offense can help them by getting a lead. I mean it was the Falcons but 0 points? That doesn’t happen in the NFL very often. I know the Falcons shot themselves in the foot multiple ways but the defense played a part in that 0. The NFL these days, teams are a work in progress for at least the first half of the year. We should see improvement continue for a little while. Throw Luke into any defense it is improved but this one is just waiting for that guy. A guy that could be like, Luke light, Temu Luke, would be a huge shot in the arm.

I only heard him talk a few years back when he got the job and he seemed kind of out there.
