19/21 for 261 and a TD is balling hard though. Jake looks damn good tonight.

That Jersey Shore reject also looks better than Bryce.
-
Jake Browning is a lot better than Bryce Young.
-
Add former UDFA Jake Browning to the long list of QBs that have looked better than Bryce Young this year.

CFB conference championship games

It really is. I'm all for the kids having more flexibility but the current system is a complete poo show. They gotta meet in the middle. My plan would be to reinstitute the one year sit out rule except for a fairly generous list of waiver opportunities. Stuff I'd be for allowing waivers for would probably include a playing time waiver (percentage of snaps, maybe 50%), head coach leaving, coordinator leaving, position coach leaving, and a family emergency stipulation. And the school also has to commit to a four year scholarship as long as you remain academically eligible. No more of this year to year scholarship BS. I have no idea the legal ability to institute any of the above but something along those lines would be fair IMO. -
We looked terrible in the preseason. I was sounding the alarm but got laughed off by the serious fans who know that preseason is completely irrelevant and that we didn't want to show what we had in Bryce and we'd really start kicking ass once the regular season started and we were game planning and scheming it up. Well... I'm still waiting. Now mind you, these same serious fans dismissing our preseason struggles were also spiking the football about how much better Bryce was gonna be because Stroud threw an INT on his first preseason drive.

Burns 55th in league with 17 pressures

Then it's a holdout. It is what it is. We put ourselves in this bind when we turned down the Rams' offer. We just have to play the hand that we've dealt ourselves at this point. -

I've been a Burns supporter in the past, but you can't give this guy nearly $30M per year. He's just not that type of impact player. We changed our entire scheme and built it around Brian Burns hoping he'd make the leap from very good to elite and he reverted to good. Whole still being awful against the run. I'm in the tag and trade camp. -

Duke Mayo Bowl in Charlotte vs. West Virginia for UNC. If Drake plays I'll probably go. Definitely won't if he sits out. -
If you were GM, how would you use our that first pick in round 2?
LinvilleGorge replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on FA and how the draft plays out. We need to upgrade the OL and the receivers (TE included). I'm not going to ignore defense but I'm certainly going to prioritize offense this off-season. -
A quip here and there is one thing. When it gets more and more and creepier and creepier that's another thing.

Listen y'all, can we lay off the weird sexual stuff? Discussing Nicole's involvement in the organization is fair game. But can we just keep it there? Some of this poo is just creepy.

This. If we're having an NFL conversation they weren't great prospects. Hell, I don't think anyone really tried to argue otherwise. But if we're having a college conversation they were damn good college QBs. -
Oof. It's getting bad for Bieniemy. The Dolphins basically just flat out saying that on their film study they figured out that their only real offense is Sam Howell playing hero ball and their game plan revolves around limiting those opportunities. “All you really have to do to defend this team is just be disciplined,” Long said via Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. “They kind of struggle with the routine parts. When we watched them play, their best stuff was when [Sam] Howell was scrambling, or they moved the pocket and just let him try to make plays. There’s gonna be rollouts and breaking the pocket, plaster. But if you just stay on your man or find somebody when you don’t have nobody, it’s really easy to defeat stuff like that.”

We. Don't. Know. Very little about David Tepper's Panthers has made logical sense.
-
We don't know. We're all just speculating. It's all we can do. I'm just taking the organization's word on it that she has an increasing role in the organization. I mean, you're the one here who is definitively laying out how the organization works with presumably zero actual insight into it.
-
Beyond baffling. They basically rewarded a pedestrian QB - good backup/marginal starter type - for the team winning every close game they played in while getting waxed in their losses. The team was largely winning despite their QB, not because of him. Now they're playing some UDFA rookie Jersey Shore extra and he's better than Jones (and our #1 overall draft pick for that matter).

Every year I'm told this is the year they wind up on cap hell and yet every year they find a way to spend like drunken sailors.

It's scrubbed. Seemingly her entire life prior to marrying David Tepper has been wiped from the internet. How I haven't searched high and low but when it became clear that she was going to have a real role within the organization out of curiosity I did a little bit of digging to figure out what her background was and what she might bring to the organization. I found nothing.
-
One of the conspiracies about Nicole is of the Panthers'/David Tepper's own doing. They are quick to brag about her increasing involvement within the organization as an executive, but look at her profile. Zero mention of her professional and educational background or really any qualifications she has beyond being married to David Tepper. Just look https://www.panthers.com/team/ownership_business/nicole-tepper Now compare that to the profile of team president Kristi Coleman with all of the background info showing her clear qualifications for the position she holds. https://www.panthers.com/team/ownership_business/kristi-coleman Hell, go to Google and try to figure it out Nicole Tepper's background. It's like they've scrubbed the entire internet of any and all of her background info.

This is all just stone cold fact. I got ridiculed and scoffed at all off-season for suggesting that Bryce's arm talent was NFL average at best and IMO was below average. Hell, I was wrong too. His arm talent is well below NFL average. I just don't understand how all the red flags were glossed over with this guy when draft prospects (especially QBs) are always nitpicked to death leading up to the draft.
