  1. They hire and draft folks who hold a good conversation over a nice meatball dinner. It is what it is.
  2. Yeah, that was dumb. PI just doesn't get called on hail Mary plays. The one inside the five though? Yeah, absolutely should've been called.
  3. Well, as soon as I talk about KC ref protection they miss a blatant pass interference that would've given them a 1st and goal inside the 5 with a stopped clock.
  4. The ref protection KC gets is just crazy. Mahomes was absolutely inbounds on that hit.
  5. I don't agree with Collinsworth here. He's acting like taking that sack was this massive blunder. I think Love did exactly as he was told. They dialed up a play to try to get the 1st and he was told if it's not there just eat the ball and take the sack to keep the clock moving. Don't scramble around and possibly push us out of FG range. Don't throw it away and stop the clock. Eat it and keep the clock moving. After the sack they're kicking a 48 yarder. You expect NFL kickers to make 48 yarders. He lost maybe 5-6 yards on the sack. Not a huge difference between a 43 yarder and a 48 yarder and a 1st down would've ended the game. Just don't think Collinsworth did all the mental math in that one.
  6. Bryce Young was the "plug and play" pick. The "we just need a QB and we're ready to go kick some ass" pick. That's where these guys thought we were. I say this knowing full well that "these guys" honestly might just mean David Tepper.
  7. What teams would Young be starting for that didn't have a starter go down with an injury? New England? Anyone else?
  8. No one would have an issue with that trade if we'd picked Stroud. The trade up was understandable. We improved down the stretch last year and had every reason to believe that with a better coaching staff (in theory) we'd improve even more and that if the #1 pick is potentially available we need to shoot our shot because we might not have such an opportunity again in the near future. It all made logical sense. Then we picked Young over Stroud, hired this coaching staff, and now we're gonna end up handing the Bears the #1 overall pick this year, not to mention a #1 WR in DJ Moore, not to mention the 2nd rounder that was the crown jewel of the CMC trade.
  9. Mahomes might have just thrown the game away.
  10. Under Tepper we seem to routinely draft for RAS. It's been more about athletic profile than it has been about football skill set. Which makes the Bryce pick all the more baffling. It was a stark departure from the RAS mindset. Anthony Richardson would've been the RAS pick.
  11. I don't know if Jordan Love is gonna work out in GB or not, but he sure has looked the part tonight. I'm just tired of watching other QBs make throws that I know that Bryce could never make. He just lacks the physical ability to do it.
  12. It's like coaching. If you do it and it works you're praised for innovation. If you do it and it doesn't you're trash. It usually doesn't work for Bryce.
  13. More and more now you're hearing announcers admit that there was a play to be made and that Bryce was either too short to see it or too short to make it. When we drafted him all the talk was at how good Bryce was at navigating on traffic and finding throwing lanes. Like his super processing abilities, it just hasn't planned it in the NFL.
  14. We need somebody to come out of the woodwork with some juicy claims about Tepper that would make the NFL force him to sell. We might be down to that type of hail Mary to save this franchise.
  15. What is your take? My take is that Bryce looks like all of the physical concerns were legit and all of the mental savant claims aren't panning out. I haven't seen him make very many plays all year that I wouldn't expect pretty much any roster caliber NFL QB to be able to make.
  16. Damn, two back to back circus catches on desperation balls from the Packers receivers. Jordan Love is something like 18/21 for 200ish yards and 3 TDs tonight.
  17. Sure you are. No one is censoring you. I mean, the whole year the Bryce apologists have been throwing literally anything and anyone else under the bus to run cover for him. The rest of us have just been saying yeah, we suck and Bryce is a big part of that.
  18. This KC safety must have really done a number on himself. "We're not gonna show you the replay." Brian Cook out of Cincinnati. I remember liking him in the draft.
  19. And the cope brigade holdout reward goes to this guy
  20. Somewhere, Frank Reich was like Before having a nice swim in Tepper's money
  21. The negative is that he's plenty willing to double down on a new, even worse mistake than the one he parted with. I shudder to think what that would be.
  22. I definitely don't miss Darnold but I'd take Darnold plus DJ and all the draft capital we gave up for Young over this mess. At least we'd be kicking our chops looking at potential '24 QBs.
  23. Well, here it is. We've gotten to the racism accusation for criticism of Bryce now. Rock bottom.
  24. "He's a great processor. Really close physically to Newton. But a much better processor. His S2 and Wonderlic were elite. He really worked that XBox controller. Processed really well. Just like Drew Brees at Purdue he really spreads the ball around like a point guard. He has a real point guard mentality. Did I mention processor and point guard? Processor and point guard."
  25. He's had a few "nice" plays. He honestly hasn't had a single play that made me sit up and say "WOW!". That's what you want to see out of a #1 overall pick. You want to see some wow moments. There haven't been any. I mean, let's be honest. Has he made a single play that someone like Gardner Minshew isn't physically capable of making?
