Ah, then you'll be fine with him. He has more breakouts vs getting hot when he goes back 5.

He'll drop some. But who doesn't?

He's injury sucked, but it wasn't like a bad thing. I also think we were cautious with it, due to we had WR to go to.

.... so if you're used to that and cool with it then you should be happy with him getting 10 million. That will look good for you.

Didn't say we are happy with it, just use to it. We absolutely want better.  We are just not in a position to do so at the moment.

Guess I need to watch it then. I always thought Eastwood in the 90's cowboy movie 'Unforgiven' was awesome. Loved the ending when he killed the hell out of the guys in the bar including Gene Hackman.

It's not one of his spaghetti westerns that he came to fame in so it really good if you are a Eastwood fan. Although 'A Fist Full of Dollars'  was was a good movie in a cult classic sense. Anyway, you have to check out The Outlaw Josey Whales. I still watch it when see it on even though I've watched it at least 20 times.

Be prepared it will drive you up the wall when he catches and runs back 5 yards. I bet week one yinz will be asking, "what was that?".

We are use to that. Most of the guys we have do the same thing. But ours rarely get up field.  Theilen is they only guy that knows how to cut a route short and still get up field to get a 1st down. He's the old guy that knows what the fug to do after the catch.

I thought it said Josey Wells at first glance. It was before my time but I remember the name and seeing that across my TV screen over the years at some point as I flipped through channels.

Great movie.  Has some of the best one liners ever.

I'm not exactly thrilled but as a wild card on offense where we sucked. Wide range of outcomes for him. Cause this is a swap it's the one move that likely cost nothing in cap or personnel with the highest chance to move the needle. I'm not convinced it does though.

Given what we gave up i think we have nothing to lose by taking a chance on him. I know nothing about him but I do know Donte. Getting something for Donte no matter the outcome is a win.

Well, one bad contract of another. Johnson has potential to be top 10 WR. but man he already started the on the field post Pittsburgh AB antics in Pittsburgh with a questionable QB. Idk this could get really spicy. Let's hope we can feed him and keep him happy, cause of so we likely are doing worlds better than last year in the passing game.

It will not matter that much. He's basically on a 1 year prove it deal here. That will decide his fate here. If he wants it he will have to earn it. I seriously doubt they plan on him being anything other than that until his replacement is drafted.

I just hope Evero is getting closer to Canales money than Idzik money because he's basically 100% in control of the defensive side of the team it sounds like.

Pretty much. Capers is giving him support but it's really all up to Evero.

Juan truly has a SPECIAL place in my Happy I Love You GIF by Warner Bros. Deutschland

I'm mad at him right now. He's like my dog, I love her when she's funny and cute. But when she tries my patience I want to yell at her and lock her outside. I still love him though...I mean her.

I am liking how they are spending resources on offense trying to help Bryce.

Well it falls in line with what an offensive minded team and coach would do. Everyone should remember that this team is now spearheaded by their second offensive minded head coach and will always be that way until Tepper decides its not. This is what he wanted and if I remember correctly 99% of this board did as well.

Guys if you have a 16% hit rate, having multiple picks at that rate is not a joint probability. That's means each roll is completely independent of the other. In short, go after the high picks. I wouldn't even use 4th through 7th picks. would just trade them away for getting proven vets.

That's a good strategy if you have a deep team. If you are thin everywhere its a little risky to limit your options IMO.

I mean specifically that are willing to pay money to go to the stadium and cheer and yell lol. It's gonna be a while before they get Luke level chants on the db meter

If someone is willing to pay money to watch this I have no sympathy for them. They should know by now it's wasted money. They have no reason to grip about crappy football as it will not change anytime soon. If they are not going for the laughs and fellowship they are doing it wrong.

I think that’s largely why we got him.  Steelers have been trying to deal him for some time.  I don’t have a problem with some attitude….not sure we really have the leadership to handle that type guy presently though.   But he needs to produce and behave to land his next gig so that likely helps with this rental.

Yeah it all depends on what kind of attitude he has. If he wants to be the best on the field on every play that's good attitude.  If he is just a diva wanting to be the highest paid ever without earning it that's bad attitude.

The frst round isn't a lock either

There really isn't recent data from what I've been able to find. Some of the most recent stats are only in reference to fantasy football, and I sure ain't using that.

From my research, it's just hard to say. It depends upon what standard they're using (which tsome that I've seen used is if you sign a second contract, or sign a second contract with your team, or become a starter). I've seen some things that say more than 50 percent of first round picks bust.

I'll just say that It's throwing darts. The more skilled you are, the more you'll hit. I certainly don't think that moving down in the second necessarily precludes you from getting a legit player.

No it doesn't. It just removes a group of players to take a shot on. You may have more picks but it's from lower rated prospects further down the board. It's a gamble either way.

To put things in perspective…I was trolling a Steelers board and they are saying Donte was:

Healthy in 2023 and had one of his best years

    Tackles well for his size

    A ball hawk

Small but plays a lot bigger

    Still runs a 4.3 40

Team guy who never takes plays off

    An excellent punt returner

    Charlie Day Ok GIF

Punt returner? Donte Jackson? An excellent punt returner? Wtf?

He seemed like our only offensive threat at times last season.

That's because he probably was at times. We really didn't have any. Old ass Thielen had to be the go to guy on damn near every play. I don't think Frank had a play that had a second read built in. It was one read if it's open or throw it away. I really couldn't tell what was going on in his offense other than it was predictable as hell and designed to go to one player at a time.
