  1. 3 games in 3 weeks will do that, regardless how much practice there is.
  2. They obviously have no idea what happened last time these 2 teams played.
  3. Announcers suck. Tripp and Maniscalco are okay with me. Love their homerism.
  4. No, I'm not a big TV guy and watch no network stuff at all. I have Netflix, Prime, and Directv.
  5. If you've never been in NC for a storm like this, fug the snowboard and get out your camera. You will see some YouTube worthy behavior brought to you by the worst drivers in the country (without weather). Throw some ice and snow on the road and it's like fugging Armageddon.
  6. https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/projected-lineup-canes-versus-blue-jackets/c-329732692 RALEIGH, NC. - The Carolina Hurricanes will be without at least two lineup regulars tonight as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at PNC Arena. Defenseman Jaccob Slavin (COVID-19 Protocol) and goaltender Antti Raanta (upper-body injury) both will not be available this evening. For Slavin, he will miss at least tonight and Saturday against Vancouver. Brendan Smith is slated to play on defense in the available spot. Ethan Bear is expected to play in Slavin's spot on the second power play unit. Raanta's situation is a bit more uncertain, as earlier this week General Manager Don Waddell announced that the goaltender isn't day-to-day but also isn't long-term. Additionally, in terms of netminders, Alex Lyon, who did practice Wednesday with the team, was not on the ice with the team at morning skate. That means Jack LaFontaine will back up Frederik Andersen tonight. LaFontaine will wear #80, becoming just the second member in team history to wear it. The other one? Shady 80, Kevin Weekes, who will be in the house tonight as a part of the ESPN+ practice. Forwards: Teravainen - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Trocheck - Fast Niederreiter - Staal - Necas Lorentz - Kotkaniemi - Stepan Defensemen: Skjei - DeAngelo Cole - Pesce Smith - Bear Starting Goalie: Andersen ------------------------ Of note: KK is back at center on the 4th line (net front, baby!)- I think he's much better in the middle. Necas seems to be stuck with Nino and Staal, which only serves to slow his game down and, with his speed, Marty isn't nearly as effective having to pump the brakes because his line-mates can't keep up. Also, anyone here think the Blue Jackets aren't going to get physical tonight after the 7-goal scoring tsunami from New Years Day? If there's one thing to be relieved about- John Tortorella is no longer the HC in Columbus, otherwise he'd have someone drop the gloves on the opening face-off.
  7. The in-season version of Hard Knocks with the Colts was very good this year. They are a legit team and just need a couple pieces to be back next year. Reich isn't going anywhere and the players on that team will go through a wall for him.
  8. A little off subject, but is Eric Bienemy's name being floated as a potential HC anymore?
  9. Brian Flores gets fired in Miami, becomes available and Tepper still sticks with Rhule- that should tell you everything you need to know about the future of this team. The OC crap is just a distraction.
  10. All you need to do is go back and read the history of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants building their new stadiums. Both of those storied and very well supported franchises basically kicked their loyal fans for decades and sometimes, generations, to the curb with the new PSLs they were offering. Sure, they gave some of those die-hard fans who've been attending games for years and years the first right of refusal for PSLs, but the prices were ridiculous. Both franchises alienated thousands of fans and, not unlike Charlotte, you can see a lot of the opposing team's fans showing up in Dallas and New York. All those old fans had season tickets, not a PSL. I had season tickets to the Raiders when they played in the LA Coliseum for 4 seasons. You basically got to buy the entire season worth of tickets (8 games) each year. I think I paid about $700 or 800 for 2 tickets in the lower bowl each year, and they were good seats. Can you imagine paying $350-400 for your seat for 8 games every year? That's like $45-50 a game. Then this PSL thing happens and you're being told your seat is going to run you one time fee of about $10k plus the price of each game ticket. That's where Dallas and NY fans got off the bandwagon.
  11. https://www.canescountry.com/2022/1/10/22877689/tuesdays-canes-flyers-game-postponed The Carolina Hurricanes have had another game postponed, as Tuesday’s meeting with the Flyers in Philadelphia has been pushed back due to COVID issues for the Flyers. The Canes have played just four games in the past 22 days and will now have to wait until Thursday to hit the ice again, at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Here is the full release from the NHL: The National Hockey League announced today that, due to COVID-related issues affecting the Philadelphia Flyers, tomorrow night’s Carolina at Philadelphia game has been postponed. The new date for the game has yet to be determined.
  12. Investments are, by definition, a profit or loss venture. As long as there is inventory, they are not a profitable venture. There is no reason for me to pay a premium to Mr. Smith for PSLs when I can buy the ones next to him from the organization. Absolutely correct. Exactly why I decided to let mine go several years back. After 17 years, I just felt the product was not worth the price, the time (travel & game time), expenses, etc. I got my initial buy-in back and a couple bucks extra because I'd sold some individual game tickets to the buyer over the previous couple years.
  13. I watched an all-time low 4 games this year. You know what, I don't feel like I missed anything.
  14. I watched the LA v 49ers game. 2 decent teams in a game with meaning. Glazer just said Rhule has to hire a rock star OC to keep his job. LO fugging L.
  15. Trocheck has disappeared and he took Necas with him. Those guys gotta contribute.
  16. Canes were gassed and RBA took a big chance putting that overworked line out there 3 on 3. It didn't work.
  17. Just getting tonite off after facing a ton of shots last night. He'll be in net Tues against the Flyers
  18. 3-2, but Florida clearly the better team tonight. Cannon by Brady with Lorentz in front.
  19. Unless they make a couple adjustments, I'm not confident they can pull this out.
