Miller went after the wrong guy, had his back turned on the goal scorer, and could have easily defended that one. Gotta believe Sorokin will not be at his best after playing 24 hours ago.

Islander played Friday night at home, losing to Philadelphia with Sorokin in net. Canes will likely see Rittich (14-9-3) tonight. TB is home against Boston and Buffalo is on the road in Washington. A little help and 2 points tonite will keep the 2 point lead over both in the East, maybe even build on it.

I want the Eastern Conference and home ice throughout.

1 of Montreal's goals was legit on most goalies. The other 2 were soft. Shame to see the bottom 2 lines are playing with more passion and desire than the top 2. Stanky, Hall, Carrier, all skating better than the rest of the team.

Add Montreal to the list of teams Carolina won't beat in the playoffs.

Fug the Metro. Canes need home ice as long as they can and need to win the East. Otherwise, I don't see them getting past Buffalo, Tampa or Columbus- all of whom are playing really good hockey right now. Much better than the Canes.

It's all relative, but Miller has been much worse than he was tonight. He made several good plays and played a big role keeping Hischier (a Cane killer), Bratt and Glass off the board. Give him some credit when it's due. Hall was on it all game. He had jump from the opening face-off and was consistently quick to loose pucks. He deserved the star. Every time Bussi goes out or back to play a puck, I cringe. The top line is still struggling. Passes aren't connecting, Aho is turning it over, Jarvy is not himself and Svech was the best player on that line.

Bussi is stopping nothing in warmups.

Yep- he will pinch in a minute without knowing if anyone dropped back to cover. And he would win a lot more board battles if he used his size and strength.

And if the playoffs started today, it's Ottawa.
