haha i don't have one. like i said all my editing to this point has been done in apple's previewer. i have used GIMP before though, so in a pinch i can download that again and use it. i just did this in 20 seconds with the apple previewer

my processor will convert the text and photos to a .mobi format for publication if that makes a difference in how everything's compressed

all the photos for the book are set at 4" in width, so i've been resizing them to that and just doing the editing on that size, so it should be fine.

why don't you just shoot me whatever files you think i might need and i'll play around with them and see what works best.

if i just screenshot it and edit like i've been doing will it cause problems? that would actually be the easiest route i think

embarrassingly i have zero skills with editing software (which is why i asked you) so i actually have been using the simple editing function on the previewer on my mac, which lets me add text, circles, squares, and draw lines with arrows, basically. for drawing up plays it's absolutely perfect.

also should i just download that or do you need to send me a file?

cool thanks. field is the main thing, i can get a fiver account for the cover. we're beta testing friday and i still have to draw up all the plays so the sooner the better. definitely doesn't have to be super high quality, just something i can draw routes on.

yeah both of those are perfect. and definitely vectorize it. i'm working on cover art too but i will need someone to design the cover (just moving around some text and stuff, mainly, but i want it to look right.)

that's a decent piece of software but they designed that graphics for the field and i don't wanna run into litigation, which happens all the time in instances like this. fiz and i are publishing a book about the panthers this weekend and this is one of the last steps. if it wasn't something commercial i wouldn't worry about a screen cap but to protect my ass i'd rather get someone to come up with something original.

i like the color scheme on that, though i'd like the green a little more faded and the hash marks are unnecessary (just need the white sideline strip and the ten yard marks.)

haha possibly. basically im trying to publish something but i can't use any kind of nfl logos or team logos or pretty much anything remotely representative of the league's copyrighted stuff. this means i can't use screenshots of plays obviously, but showing play designs is an integral part of what i wanna do.

so i need someone to design an overhead view of a football field without logos that i can use as a template to draw plays on. i need one that captures a forty-yard spread around midfield and another one that captures an end zone at one end of the spread. all the templates i've found are black and white or just butt ass ugly, so i'm hoping someone can design me something simple, low-key, with the white yard markers visible but not obstructive.

let me know if you think it's possible and how much you'd charge. i'll get you name credits in there too if you care about that
