Well the argument will be if we keep winning enough games you won't ever draft high enough to replace him. Unless you trade up again or get lucky and a Lamar like player drops to you in the teens or 20s I doubt they'll have incentive to replace him unless the team noticeably dips in W-L record next year.

There's been several reports that this would happen for quite a while now. Oddly high amount of people acting surprised about it on social media. If anything this shows that they aren't confident enough to give him a big contract yet and they want him to put togethet a consistently good or great season You don't give a qb that struggles to get above 200 yards and 1 TD most of his games a big ass contract. You only give a huge contact quickly to QBs that you know are that dude. Burrow got his after 2.5 seasons of play essentially, Mahomes got his after only 2 seasons starting. Bryce is nowhere near their level.
