Nikishin will be allowed to leave early and join the Hurricanes for the playoffs.
Not good news IMO would rather two years of ELC.
Because you know Rod is gonna trot Burns and Orlov out there come playoffs even though Nikishin/Morrow will be more dynamic and the future

I don't find it surprising at all tbh, the canes always have a slump at some point during the regular season just like they always have a mega winning streak or two, the regular season means nothing to me at this point.

I mean he's in great fuging company stat wise. He gave up a healthy chunk of his goals in a bad stretch of the season for us as a team as well. He's played great
When he is consistent I may drink the cool aid again but not now

He gets a bad rap because of the SB which was 100% on Ron/Shula not adjusting and getting him help. Dude was great for a waiver wire pickup veteran UDFA.
Idk he got Patrick mahomes beat to hell in a SB too

In a vacuum each of the guard contacts is fine and don't get me wrong I love investing in OL and DL, but I'm not really a fan of paying 2 guards big $. Pay your tackle(s), go younger/cheaper on the interior. But otherwise generally agree
With a short QB I tend to feel guards are more valuable than tackles.

And the second. Talk about an all time blunder. Fitt should have been fired just as soon as he turned down that offer.
Agreed. Although I would have sent Burns instead of Moore.... I don't understand sending the second best receiver your franchise has ever drafted when your taking a rookie QB.

I thought that last year when we invested so heavily in guards. I was wrong because they sure made a difference.
Hubbard and Brown seem to be worth the money or possibly even bargains.
And Horn, that was a lot of money there, but it probably is just resetting the marketplace and he'll be down the list in the next few weeks. Still, I'm wondering about the balance between the impact he made last season and his availability through his career. It's a roll of the dice and I'm not sure how much is guaranteed.
Glad to see you admit it, I was all for it and pointed it out repeatedly! Lol Last years investment will be even better this year with a season playing together under their belts.

Needless to say the wins need to begin following promptly.
Depends on what kind of draft we have imo. I think our offense gets better this year (if for no other reason the line now has a full season of continuity).
With the additions on defense health pending of course we should be much much better against the run, Brown-Brown-Robison on early downs is gonna be STOUT. Rosewood and Moerig should help cut down on long runs.
I could see anywhere from 8 to 10 wins if we stay healthy.

I would think this is skewed a bit by having your starting QB, LT, and two WRs on rookie contracts. We probably end up with at least one defensive end in this year's draft class. And Brian Burns plays a premium position, but I'm sure glad we're not paying him the 4th highest salary at his position.
Burns 9 sacks a year were 100% not worth the paycheck he got (not to mention he's not a consistent pass rush but a guy who has an outburst game or two)
Trading him was the right move they just should have traded him instead of Moore or taken the 2 1sts from the rams.

Yeah, the Horn deal is bananas. He is genuinely not a top 10 player at his position, even when healthy. They are paying him for future performance and, TBH, I don't see it going well.
Let's hope we are all wrong and he uses it as motivation to be the best.
Moehrig is an interesting one. He is really going to have to play well to justify that, IMO.
THIS RIGHT HERE absolutely insane for a guy who hasn't completed a season and had only played in 54% of the games in his CAREER

Truth be told, form afar stats-wise he does seem on miltons level and maybe better against the run.
He's small, there's not other way to said it, others can claim hes not....but how is this guy a replacement for Dbrown or Arob?? He is not and was given all-pro money.
I have gogglefu him and will report the good- Kyle Long said he was the hardest guy to block 1 vs 1.
He can eat and RIP to teppers million once he orders this-
He's got "juice" aka energy, he makes everyone rise theirs.
I hate to end on a low note- he torn a ACL in 2022
He's got to wreck and win games given his money...... Brandt Tilis has insight with the 5 years he's been watching.
The Nerd is on watch now.....
People have to remember we are a 3-4 base now, average weight for them is around 285 not 310+ like a traditional 4-3 DT, he's also a little on the shorter side (most of the best 3 and five techniques in the last 20 years have been) gives them a lower center of gravity.

I OFFICIALLY HATE THE HORNETS I UNDERED TRAE YOUNG so what do they do? FOUL HIM 11 times in the fourth quarter and he gets 28 points from free throws

It baffles me that so many Panthers fans act like Shaq was a continuation of the Panthers' typically having at least one excellent LB. The guy was a JAG starter that we overdrafted at our position of greatest strength at the time then paid him like the player we hoped he would be rather than the player that he was. He was basically Will Witherspoon. Solid player but not a cornerstone of your defense.
I think Witherspoon was better than Shaq my panthers comp would be
James Anderson
