  1. It was a football move. Were a team that struggles in the red zone and added the greatest red zone threat of all time they arent wrong about the box office effect at least though. Theres a reason tickets for sunday in the 500 level are selling for $200 a piece now when they were $20 two weeks ago, and I can tell you the return of RiverRaft Ron isnt the reason
  2. Alot of y’all werent there for that TNF game against Tampa my stance was always to let 2020 be Cam’s prove it year and go from there but I don’t blame any regime for watching the last few games of the end of 2018 and that TNF game against Tampa and being convinced Cam was done. I remember after that game one of those twitter film guys who was always a huge Cam supporter was breaking down all of his throws and being convinced he was done . I personally thought he was, my issue was we could have let him prove for one season that he wasnt. It was such an easy and logical choice for me that had zero risk and huge rewards
  3. Gotta disagree there OLine is about how the unit works as a whole and the chemistry they have with picking up blitzes etc. making splash FA signings and using early draft picks doesnt guarantee anything. We went dumpster diving in 2015 and had a great unit all the way up until the Super Bowl
  4. This whole 1 year prove it deal is 2 years late tbh because we should have gone into the 2020 season giving him a chance to show he’s healthy but say he looks to be in his 2018 form, do we even have a choice at that point to NOT resign him knowing we could easily be back in QB purgatory going forward if we let him walk?
  5. Is the bar really so low that the board is gushing over a guy with twice as many interceptions as passing touchdowns?
  6. Not even from a football perspective but getting rid of Cam put a fork in the next generation of Panthers fans. We have talent on this team and have always had talent but Cam is the first and always “public figure” we had on the team. He made the Panthers a national brand and made the younger generation want to be fans on another note the gameday experience sucks and the parking/traffic is a nightmare. I live a mile from BoA and i sit in traffic for 30 minutes both ways. The stadium is in the middle of uptown and most people that live in uptown are not natives to the city or state and can just walk to the stadium and its just an easy weekend event for them and its super convenient for visiting fans to just get a hotel and walk to the stadium get a new stadium and put it somewhere where fans actually have to make an effort to get there and it wont be like this. I lived in Arizona and watched the Cardinals have 20k fans every week at Arizona State and the minute they built a new stadium they were selling out every week even while they had a shitty team
  7. Its sad that “journalism” now is making bold claims with no credibility just to be “first” to break it and then when you’re wrong it’s always “my unnamed source was incorrect” Stop relaying what your cousin who works in the equipment room says just to get clicks
  8. Im not dismissing the #MeToo movement and Watson could very well be a horny predator but facts are its been like 7 months since the story has been out, the FBI and DA are involved and theres not even one charge yet?
  9. We really dont have more holes in our roster than teams like the Cardinals or Bills who are legit Super Bowl contenders and the reason they are is because they have Josh Allen and Kyler Murray and we have Sam Darnold how are teams like the Dolphins and Texans doing that seem to always be stock piling cap space and picks?
  10. And we’ll have a franchise QB for the next 10 years lmao what is the problem here? We’ve had exactly 1 legitimate franchise QB in the 27 years weve played I love Burns and hope he’s a cornerstone of our defense going forward but Id much rather have to replace an edge rusher than keep swinging and missing on QBs its been 3 years but i think some of y’all have forgotten what it was like to go into every game with a real chance of winning and when Cam was healthy thats how i felt every game. Watson is that good. And now we actually have a competent GM to build a team around him
  11. We have a terrible OLine and our all-world running back who masks all of the QB and OLines flaws is gone, making a QB who’s ceiling is decent game manager at this point have to carry the offense. The result is a QB trying to be more than he is and failing miserably. Our wonder boy OC hasnt adjusted anything and has been figured out since the middle of last season, but again having CMC on the field masked that as well I think our defense was vastly overrated at the beginning of the season due to playing bad QBs with bad supporting casts. I do think we have a legitimate Top 10 defense, however we are not the 2013 Seahawks that people thought we were after 3 games. The losses of Horn and Shaq were significant and I dont think people realize what those 2 not being there does to our scheme. I think its forced us to play alot less press and more zone which means we can be carved up if our blitz doesnt get home. Getting Shaq back and getting Gilmore on the field will have us looking elite on defense again IMO Its easy to lose faith and think we need to blow everything up and start over and fire Rhule but I really think alot of you on here are letting the 3-0 start give you unreasonable expectations. The Titans look like Super Bowl favorites right now but if they lost Derrick Henry imagine what their offense would look like
  12. He absolutely is. Has won every where hes coached and would win here. If Michigan is dumb enough to fire him because he didnt meet their unreasonable expectations he would be my first call
  13. Guy got exposed in the Super Bowl he’s Joe Brady with a generational QB and 2 hall of fame receivers hiding his flaws
  14. Hes the best coach Michigan has had in decades. The only people that think hes a disaster are their delusional fanbase that think they should be in the CFP playoff every year. He will have 4 10 win seasons in 7 years after this one is finished
  15. We did not. Which is why we lost my point was this is not college football and we are not Alabama. We are not going to every game as the more talented team and just have to not shoot ourselves in the foot to win there is talent on our defense, there are also alot of guys that would not be on the field for most teams like Carter, Anderson, Luvu, Chandler and whoever the corners besides Bouye and DJax are. It shouldnt be surprising that teams with pro bowlers at QB, RB, and WRs like the Cowboys and Vikings are able to score on us.
  16. The other team gets paid to make plays too. The Vikings have a Top 5 running back, 2 great receivers, and a pro bowl caliber QB. Add Horn and Shaq being out and put a PS player at safety and yeah days like today will happen the first 3 games Darnold had 2 total turnovers. He’s had 7 the last 3 games. That’s why were 3-3 and not 6-0 theres a few teams in the league like the Bucs that are stacked with talent and a few teams like the Jags that are very devoid of talent. Everyone else is pretty even. Games get decided mostly by who gets off the field on 3rd down and who turns the ball over less
  17. 18 months ago we had the worst roster in NFL, now were 3-3 with a great young core. Eagles loss was inexcusable but Cowboys and Vikings are more talented teams than us and we made too many mistakes to win but lost one by 7 and the other in OT. All 3 of those without CMC by the way. The fact were even competitive with a bust QB and the worst OLine in football is a testament to Rhule getting the most out of his players
  18. Thats WHY he punted. It was 15-3 and the Eagles had shown nothing on offense. Why try a long field goal with a shaky kicker or attempt a 4th down with a bad OLine and give them the ball at midfield and give them a chance to score and not just let them cut into the lead but also give their offense confidence going into the second half? if thats how it would have panned out the same people would be blaming him for not trusting his defense and taking an unnecessary risk when we had the game in control already what the analytics dont tell you if how the flow of the game is currently going. I really didnt think at any point yesterday the game was in jeopardy until that punt got blocked and the Eagles got the ball at our 20. Im convinced if we get that punt off and the Eagles have to go 70-80 yards they probably stall somewhere around our 40 and turnover on downs like their last drive and we win the game 18-13
  19. You can blame coaching but reality is we had no business losing that game unless we shot ourselves in the foot and he coached under that assumption Rhule didnt throw 3 unforgivable interceptions and didnt let a punt get blocked in our own territory up 5 late in the 4th
  20. Basically what happened in 2019 i dont buy the idea of rebuilds taking 5 years. The 49ers had 2 seasons in between being the worst team in football and having a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. If you acquire blue chip talent in the draft and develop your young players you can put together a title contender pretty quickly
  21. Are we sure he isnt better than Carter? i think we really overrate Carter because of how bad Whitehead was. Whitehead would make any JAG look like Patrick Willis
  22. Itll matter again when Uptown is filled with a bunch of obnoxious fat asses in green and white sweat stained jerseys on Sunday morning
  23. My barber in uptown is a Cowboys fan (of course right?) on Saturday he felt good because he said if both teams played their best games then the Cowboys would win. It was hard for me to argue yesterday i felt like the Cowboys played about as close to a perfect game as possible. Dak didnt get sacked one time, he got the ball out quick and I dont remember him missing a throw. Zeke and Pollard had tons of room to run it felt like every play. No turnovers, no back breaking penalties, and they got after Sam on the other hand while we did some good things on offense, we also had 2 killer INTs by Sam - one was a TD if he throws to Marshall instead and the other swung all the momentum in the game and felt like a killshot. The missed field goal and the terrible call on the Chinn fumble were 2 huge bad breaks I think as fans we get too emotional and passionate and assume the strengths of our team should always work in our favor and forget the other team has its own strengths as well and get paid to play just like our guys do. It’s also dumb to bring up injuries because Lawrence, Collins and Gallup are significant missing pieces for them as well THAT ALL BEING SAID. I came away pretty optimistic about the rest of our season after yesterday. I felt like we got every bad break and felt like Dallas played their A game while we played our C game and it was still a tight game. 3rd quarter was a disaster but every other quarter we either tied or outscored them and when you look at the box score the yards and first downs were about even and we controlled the time of possession. Those looked like 2 evenly matched teams and one team got all the good breaks and we were the ones that made too many mistakes which is why we lost. At no point did I feel like we were overmatched and thats one of the more talented teams in the league. compare that to last season where we had to play our A game and good teams had to play a C game for it to be close like the Packers or Chiefs games
  24. Exactly. Happens all the time. Guy is on shitty team and looks checked out then goes to a contender and all of a sudden hes been revived
