  1. I'm neither a big BY supporter, nor a big BY hater......but I don't know if I really follow comments like "a QB away from competing."

We're 9 weeks into the season and have a winning record, aren't we competing?  Unless what's meant there is actually "a legit contender to win the SB".

Being happy about a win isn't giving up on them, but when people say things like, "we should just be happy after a win given how bad we've been the last 10 years", that's being happy regardless of how we looked because we don't get a lot of wins, which is straight up loser mentality.

And that's my point, 95% of the people happy about this win are also saying those kind of things.

I'm not upset that we won, I'm upset that we still didn't look good in key areas, namely play calling, if you can't see the difference between those things, then that's a you problem, not a me problem.

This win does NOTHING for us into the future, which is why it's hard for me to get exited over a win against another horrible team where we still didn't look good outside of a few big runs by Rico.  Trust me, if we turned some corner and looked great with Canales calling a great game to keep the Dolphins guessing wrong all day, then yea, I'd be on here celebrating it up, but that's not close to what happened.

Let me clear things up for you:

    1.) I enjoy every win....regardless of circumstances.

2.) I've already conceded we have plenty of issues to solve in a previous post.  I have zero issues seeing that.

3.) Fans are allowed to join a win.

It may not happen for a while. Really. It sure won't overnight.

In the meantime, you can just constantly torture yourself with the overpowering angst and disgust for the team until it miraculously changes or not. Or you can get what enjoyment you can out of wins when they happen, if for no other thing than they lighten the load even for a moment, or perhaps go find a team that more fits your desired results. I mean, honestly, this is about you enjoying your life. If looking back over the last 30 years doesn't give you some at least moments of pride, then, well, you should know by now that it might be time to leave a relationship that's pretty abusive to you and your needs.

Best of the world to you, either way.

This is the exact message I've been trying to get through to some on here that are simply insufferable.  Well said.

But this is my exact point, aren't you sick of just being happy over a win because we get them so infrequently?  Don't you want to finally start to be competitive every week and be in the playoff hunt again?

If just getting a win makes you happy, then I feel bad for you, because it means you've completely given up on the franchise ever being decent again and you're good with a handful of wins each year.

Yes, of course I want the team to be competitive week in and out.

In what world does being happy about our team winning a game = completely giving up on the franchise?  That makes no sense.

I look at that like small picture/big picture. In tne small picture I enjoy the wins. Everything feels better when you win.

In the big picture, you want more wins you have to address what might be in the way of that. I am sort a perfectionist and it comes easy to me. Naturally I guess. I want to improve stuff.

Completely feel you on the perfectionist angle b/c I'm the same way here.  However, I only let that bother me when it pertains to things within my direct control.

I've been a big sports fan my entire life, but several years back, I came to the realization that if your team loses and it completely ruins your day....well that's just not worth it.

Now, apparently we have people who are pissed off even after we win a game!  That's just laughable to me and tells me they're too focused and invested in things they cannot control.  I want the Panthers to win too....which they haven't done much in recent years, so I'm going to take the opportunity to enjoy it.  Being a glass half empty type of person will never do you any favors.

Yeah. But avoiding the negatives and sweeping them under the rug for the good feeling of a win is not going to solve those things and they will bite you in the rear.  That ain’t offering much thatks positive but I guess you could ‘glass half full” something out of it.

That comeback was something g those guys should be proud of. I don’t think it really matched the original from 2003 but that matters not inside the locker room.

It's less about sweeping negatives under the rug and more about allowing yourself to be happy and enjoy a win.

And complete transparency here, I've been speaking on the mentality that a fan should have.  Now if you're actually employed by the organization, in any capacity, you better be looking at all your problems and constantly striving to improve.  That should go without saying.

When fans are salty after a 17 point comeback win and a 200+ yard rusher...those folks just won't ever be happy.

I've said this too many times to count, but just enjoying wins because we get them so infrequently is how shitty franchises continue to be shitty, because their fans are "just happy" when they get flawed wins.

I'd rather lose but show improvement in key areas such as play calling and QB play than win and still struggle in those areas.  Because until we improve in those areas, this team is going nowhere, so what is the fun in "enjoying" the 3-5 wins we get where we still don't look great while doing it?

I want to make the playoffs again, we won't get there because we win fluky games, we'll get there because we've improved as a team.  Show me improvement in a loss and I'll enjoy watching that game more than wins like this, because I care more about our long term high level success than shitty wins in lost seasons.

You watched that game and enjoyed a win, I watched that game and saw why we're still going nowhere as a franchise in the foreseeable future but won in spite of that.  It's been a decade since we've been decent, how are you not sick of "enjoying" those type of games?

We won the game man..."flawed" wins still count the same as "perfect" wins no?

If you've reached a point of preferring the team to lose vs. win.....as long as what you saw on the field constitutes 'improvement' in your mind....that's a problem.  It likely means your happiness and well being is a bit too intertwined with a game that you have zero control over.  Just not healthy, but hey that's just my take.

I'll acknowledge that everyone's perception is their own reality and you're entitled to your opinions.  I just personally choose to focus on positives.  Being down 17-0 and coming back to win shouldn't be downplayed.  That isn't an easy thing to do in the NFL.  It can really boost the morale of a locker room.

  8. Being a fan should be fun....we haven't had much fun in recent years....so why not just enjoy the team winning a damn game?

Complaint threads after wins are weak....I'm just thrilled with every win we manage to secure, regardless of how we got it.

Do we still have a ton of problems, yes we do.  But the OP just seems to be digging a little too hard to find reasons to still be upset after a win.  You'll be happier as a human being if you can just allow yourself to enjoy wins without dissecting them for deficiencies.

Why would I log out. ... and what does this have to do with enjoying or not enjoying a win?  Chad is one of those people that can safely be ignored since everything he does is rooted in narcissism.  This "apology" is no different.  Anyone listening to him before or after should find a better channel.

A narcissist eating crow kind of speaks volumes though.

Idgaf would ochocinco thinks btw, but can definitely agree it's refreshing to hear any talking head say something like that.

maybe, but really it was always going to be Carolina or Houston, and who would he go and study in Houston?

Demarco Ryans as HC and he took the 49ers passing game coordinator to be his OC, sure he could have watched 49ers film, but that's Shanahan's offense, who knows how similar this guy will want to run an offense.

A lot easier to watch old Reich run offenses

More than anything, the underlying point or takeaway from my post is: We might have a special one on our hands here.  It's already more than apparent he's highly intelligent and motivated.

I can appreciate the teams efforts to keep trying to get better. Brrdgewater, Darnold and Baker have all been big upside, low downside moves.

Agree with these opinions above.  I'd rather see them continue to try within reason, and this move for Baker is reasonable.  Not sure how you can be mad....Corral wasn't ever going to be ready to start week 1 this year.
