that CLT club was in Asheville previously. When Cal Sr was their manager, Jr played in little league on a team sponsored by a Ford dealership, I still remember him playing games in the ironically named Weaver Park, and yes he stood out even back then, clearly the best on the field and had solid fundamentals even back then, so when he got called up into the majors i thought it was really cool since I had seen him play as a kid, just knew he was going to make a name for himself Mike Curtis was a heck of a LB'er, and I was watching that game on TV when he trucked that fan, pretty funny

same here, we had a cable station out of Knoxville that would carry Colts and Orioles games, I already liked the O's since Asheville had a 2A farm club when the fam moved here, and latched on to the Colts soon afterwards. Bert Jones was the man, he was Elway before Elway was Elway, crazy arm that was accurate at long distance, physically I can't think of a better QB in all the years I've watched the game
