Watching the Stafford trade and knowing we can not afford to trade for Watson makes me think. We can not afford to give up too many picks to move up (maybe 1 slot) and the top 3 QBs will be gone. If the Panthers don't love Lance (which is risky since he's only got 1 great year against not so great talent), I can not see them drafting a QB at 8. I think maybe they'll sign a back up plan for a year in case they don't a QB later in the 1st round or early rounds, but they have a decent QB in Teddy. I think they can trade back and get a Mac Jones or some one else while acquiring more picks. But trading back, getting more picks and building a solid foundation for the next few years and keep that turning until the perfect franchise QB is found, traded for or developed is my prediction. Getting a couple of more 2nd or 3rd round picks could be what we need to get us (along with a healthy CMC) to a fringe playoff team. Tepper said he's not looking to build a quick winner but a long sustainable and perennial winner. Having a good solid team all around is needed, especially on the O-line which we are hurting is needed. Maybe we don't get out franchise QB until 2023. Even if we drafted Mac Jones in the 2nd or 3rd round and he turned out great a year or so later, it would take a couple of years to build the rest of the team around him any way. The reward has to out way the risk. Look at teams where it set them back. The Bears are a good team but can't get over the hill because they went all in with Trubisky. Denver has been searching for 5 years. SF put too much in on an unproven Jimmy G. This is all speculation but I would rather have a winning team, year in and year out then take the risk on a pick at QB because that's what my fan base wants. Even with a decent QB, we can be 10-6 or better ever year and maybe once year it takes us to the top, but always searching for that 1 QB who can be there for 12-15 years, knowing we have a team around him. Also, my thought goes this way because the QB contracts are out of hand. Dallas is fearful about committing so much to Dak. Rams screwed themselves. Mahomes could have got more but he did it like Tom Brady so they can have a team around him. Not every QB is like that. Just my thoughts and would love to hear yours, not just bash this.

I wouldn't do it and here's why. I love Watson as a franchise QB but.... If we get him and his salary, we may not be able to sign Moton or any really good FA's and we'll have less good draft picks to build on. It will set us back a couple of years to build around him with less picks and no real cap room. What are we gonna have a 9-7 record but don't have the horses to get over the top? Then, we are one injury away from a set back like Cam. He's similar to Cam in play and after Cam got his 2nd contract he had a great couple of years before the injuries took over. With no good picks or cap money, what O-line will protect him? Don't forget the cap hit from Teddy's contract. Can you then keep Robbie and DJ next year? It's too much risk for the reward IMO. He's great. Would love to have him but IMO the timing is not right.

Best night ever. Walking in a met & briefly talked with Little Big Town and then the game was history. Because of being a DJ, I love to listen to all the songs played at big moments.

It's also the system. Any pick can flourish in the right system with the right coaches. Look at Robbie Anderson. I would rather have more 2nd to 4th round picks and hope a few take off, like Chinn.

Maybe he won't in a lower cap year. Could make a good 2 year stop gap and one less position to think about drafting. Not a bad option if the price is right.

What they will do is a mystery but looking at last year and with the cap being lower, here's some thoughts... They signed a bunch of middle FA last year. Some worked, some didn't. I see that happening again to give them options in the draft. Kerr was a real good signing along with Robbie. Burris was good and picking up Douglas was good. Apple, Weatherly and Whitehead were not and all will be gone. Even the OL pickups of Miller (who would be good to keep another year) and Schofield were decent. I can't see any huge signings but mid-level ones that seem like we over paid but we'll get 2 or 3 good guys from it. I do not believe they will sign a FA QB. They've got TB. They'll resign Moton and find Samuels's replacement in the draft or a cheap/Beasley type signing for 1 year. The draft we'll depend on who falls and if the QB available is who they want. I can see them going anywhere other than QB. I see top 3 rounds being at least an OL and CB pick. All the other picks will depend on who they sign. If the perfect pick doesn't drop to them, they'll pass knowing they at least have a FA for that spot. I could see them trading down and getting a few more 2 or 3rd round picks too. No one guy will change the team to a playoff team but several can. Thoughts: If they don't take a OT in the 1st or 2nd round, we're looking at Daley, Scott and Little as our LT guys.... Our DL is solid with Burns, Matos, Obada, Kerr and Brown. Safety, I don't think they'll cut Boston and with Chinn and the Franklin, I don't think they sign anybody big (they keep Burris if anything) or draft too high unless some gem falls to them.... Defense - LB and CB are our biggest needs to really improve on. Offense; OL (HUGE need), TE (depends on Brady) and an extra WR. We have Bayless, who I could see him or someone being the 2nd WR and Moore moving to slot WR on occasions (using him like Samuel was used). I see a methodical approach to get better over time and not overnight. I think they're thinking even 2022 is a serious playoff team. Tepper said he was willing to take 5 years to become a perennial winner. He's not looking to be great in 2021, just better. The new GM came from that type of mentality too.

KK is a class act, injuries just got the best of him. I hope we resign him (at lower cost) like we did Charles Johnson. If not for the injuries, he was top 3 interior lineman.

All I was doing was saying if we don't get the QB we want, and I know Sewell won't be there, is Parsons enough of an impact player to take. On the CBS Sports draft board, he's like 3 or 4th highest rank in total. I was going by BPA and I like what White did for TB taking over the game towards the end. 8 is not too high as he's ranked that high. I do think CB is just as important so I see CB or maybe OT but if possible, trading down a few spots if our guy (who ever that is) is not available.

If we don't like the QB's left at #8, would you take MLB Micah arsons? After watching Devin White last night change the momentum, makes me wonder having someone close to Luke's ability might help complete the defense turnaround? We need a general on defense. Still get a LT in the 2nd and a CB in the 3rd. I'm not pushing for Parsons, just saying watching White reminded me of Luke and the importance of a great MLB. Just wanting opinions.
